It's so gross and gray here. It's been raining all night and morning.
My H went back to work today. He really threw off our schedule being home for the past 10 days but I appreciated the extra help and the human interaction that I don't normally get.

Oh man could I use a margarita already.
I forgot how shitty school traffic is. Getting out of my sub sucks now. And the first email I read this morning has me ragey.

Ooh margaritas sound so good right now.
Morning! I'm taking the kids up to one of those CVS minute clinics in a bit--have to get B's vax record, etc. transferred over to the VA state (excuse me, commonwealth) form for preschool.
We'll probably get breakfast while we're out and maybe hit a playground or something. Today is the last really warm day we're supposed to have and then temps will be dropping a bit 😬😬😬

PS: my husband's job...I'm not complaining at all, I thought this was really nice...today is the first day of school here so they issued a 10:15 start time so everyone could see their kids off, etc.
Coming from his last command, which was the definition of soul-sucking, I'm so glad he's happy in his new role, and that work-life balance seems so much better (so far).

flamingo that is so wonderful!!! It's little things like that that really boost morale. I hope it continues to be a better balance. goldenlove I read your post wrong at first and couldn't understand how getting out your sub (the sandwich variety) could ever suck. Lol! Can you tell I'm hungry? School traffic does indeed suck. I'm in a college town and that just compounds it. All these crazy kids who drive like maniacs and don't pay attention are everywhere.

Morning!
Sorry I wasn't around yesterday. My parents and grandmother made it up to the Cape so we were tied up with them all day. They are renting a condo that's like 45 minutes from my ILs' house, which is exactly as stupid and annoying as it sounds.
But, the kids slept there last night. So H and I got our first truly kid-free night since D was conceived (i.e., when we went to Mexico without DS for 5 days in Feb. '16). Even though we both have to work (remotely) today, we decided to go out to our favorite bar where we used to get crazy in our 20's.
It was so much fun! We were definitely kinda #old, but whatever. We got to talk a lot, drink, dance a little, and then we ubered home and ate pizza and even DTD 😱 Tired this morning but so worth it.

M dances to Mariachi music so I think it's only right that I get the fixings for tacos and margs tonight. Anyone have a good non mixer/over ice recipe they like to use? I just have to convince H to join me. He eats dinner around 10-10:30 and my heartburn will actually kill me if I eat tacos that close to bed time.

ILY. We're off of a smaller street that connects two main roads and it's literally across the street from the high school. So it gets backed up as everyone is trying to go straight (and the a-holes never leave room for people who want to turn left). And it's always the worst at the time I normally leave.

Sounds like a great time dashook! I'm off today and the kids are home from dc too! I think we're going to the zoo while the weather is still decent out. I also have a mountain of laundry to get to, ugh my least favorite chore.

flamingo that is awesome. I'm so happy to hear that. And how awesome that they allow the day to start late to watch kids go off to school. That's really nice. dashook how fun! I love nights like that!

flamingo, that's so awesome! goldenlove, school traffic really is the worst. I'm so thankful that I leave for work early enough to miss school traffic. I used to leave for work right when everyone was dropping off their kids for school and I had to drive past both the middle and high school to get to the highway. It was awful. Sounds like you had a blast dashook!! Have fun at the zoo tjanca22!

I'm jealous of all the cooler weather people are getting. It was in the high 80s/low 90s all weekend and it's supposed to be 95 today. Where am I? I'm ready for sweater weather now, please and thank you.

Well I called the pedi about B's rash and given his history with food allergies and such they want me to bring him in. So we have an appointment at 11:15. Of course this had to happen the day my H goes back to work so now I'm stuck bringing both kids by myself. Should be a blast. I think putting J in the ergo is going to be my best bet.

Did you guys see the stickied thread about social media? I don't know if they would do it but I DNW them linking our threads to the world. Maybe we should ask that BMBs be off limits.

jubilantsquirrel It's crazy that the weather is so backwards right now. We've had plenty of really hot Septembers. Summer said bye a while ago here. waitwhat good luck at the appointment. Hopefully it's not food related.

I think maybe the only thing worse is getting on the same schedule as the school bus that does house-by-house pick ups and drop offs.

Or password protect the whole board? Idk. At this point and stage it's too easy for me to slip up and give up a ton of identifying information. I consider all of you close friends and think more of sharing what's going on versus keeping private to protect my family and myself from lurkers during the day to day conversations. I've been enjoying how anonymous this site is at this point in the game. If they start linking I might have to reel it in quite a bit.

I would *assume* that the threads they would link would be ones posted on the General Discussion board or the Special Interest/TV/Political boards. I can't imagine that they would link a BMB randoms thread or the like. But I completely understand being more aware of potential lurkers and censoring what you say here to stay safe.

waitwhat thinking of you guys. GL at the appointment and keep us posted! Re: board privacy; I haven't read the stickied post yet but also assume links would be to threads with meaning to the outside world (which our BMB randoms probably do not have). That said, if new people are drawn to the site they could always lurk us. I'd be fine with moving our daily threads (well, all of our threads really) into the password protected board. We're all in there anyway at this point so no one would be left out.

We do have topic specific threads too like the food, sleep and birthday threads. Those are more my concern.

That looks like a ton of fun, but I'm not sure if one year olds would really get much out of it. And 90 minutes seems like a long time for that age. I think it would be perfect for next year though!

I want to take B on this also this year but I am almost tempted to wait until next year when he's 3.5 and J is 2.

I'm fine with moving everything to the private board, if that's what everyone wants to do.
