I've been up since 4:15. Dude keeps waking super early. I know he was awake at 4:30. He doesn't get out of bed, but he does succeed in disturbing X often. Plus, he's a grouch.

Getting used to wearing something on my wrist is driving me nuts..
Boss is leaving at noon to go watch the eclipse with his son. So I'm getting a pedicure and taking a long lunch.. He's not leaving town this week so this is my only chance. #employeeoftheyear
The boys were exhausted this morning and slept even after I took them to the sitters.

Another 2.5 hours and then our 30 hour trip (incl. 20 on the ferry) is done. Can't wait to be home, all of us are done. Dd is watching teletubbies on the iPad, because it was the only way to get her to stop screaming. Overall the kids did great while road tripping, but this last leg seems to be to much. Thanks for all the well wishes for my mom yesterday, she's flying home today and is getting an MRI as soon as she can get an appointment.

Morning. Why do smoke detector batteries always go out in MOTN? I had to hear it beep every 3 minutes from 3am till I got up at 5:30. (It still beeps if you take the battery out) I didn't think we had any batteries but finally found one to steal out of something else. I will be buying all the 9V today and replacing them all!
Headed to a Financial Planning seminar at work this morning. It's part 2 of the retirement training we attended last month. Then we have over 1200 school kids coming to the park for an eclipse viewing event.

A day out with Thomas yesterday was a lot of fun. Kellykins H and her N13 boy met us there. Of course, toddlers be toddlerin. Matthew was a grouch when we first got there because he didn't want to ride the train and wouldn't talk to him. Then near the end when he perked up, D was upset lol. But Jack was on cloud 9 the whole time and had a blast. He kept saying "Thats Thomas! Right there!" I welled up everytime he got excited.

lfig I didn't hear anything about the rally this weekend so I'm assuming it was uneventful? Speaking of officers, we saw a police officer directing traffic for the NFL team coming in, so he was standing in front of our car for probably 10 minutes or so. Well Matthew kept calling them "poly" I kept saying "Police?" And he would yell and correct me.. IDK where he got that lol.

Apparently I'm a PW today..
I weighed myself this morning.. I'm up 10 lbs. since weaning Jack. Ugh. I knew this would happen but lord. I had to buy new work pants this weekend because 1. I needed them, mine are getting old. And 2. My damn butt/hips barely fit in them! I had to go up 3 sizes!!!! I kept repeating on the way home "it's just because it's a different brand. They're sized differently" DH was scared to say the wrong thing lol.

Ours went off about a month ago and it started shouting "FIRE FIRE FIRE!!" at 3am. Scared the shit out of everyone. I mean why the fuck is it shouting "fire" when all it needed was a battery change??

It surprised me that after weaning B, my body really didn't change, but then w baby #2, it all goes crazy.

"battery" seems like a better option.. R's house burnt to the ground 11 years ago, so when my uncle re built he put in a really good smoke/fire detector system. They are hard wired to the house and have battery back up. One night they started going off at like 1 am. "FIRE FIRE FIRE" Woke everybody up. R was so freaked out he made A get up in the attic and make sure there wasn't fire up there since there obviously wasn't any down stairs. It was funny.

Our friends son has a service dog and he's a yellow lab. He's the best. Might have something to do with the 20K in training though lol.

Sorry for the early wake up cagoldi. It's the worst! C woke up at 6:15 and was singing a song he made up about Batman and Superman. We got him a Lego Batman watch yesterday and he is so psyched about it. Hopefully a slow day at work. Slow week maybe. Most of Probation is away at trainings so that limits the people to give me work to do. I think I'm going to work on double checking files were scanned properly by the temps and start shredding, which is my favorite thing.

Morning.
Today was MHs day to take M to school, but I still had to get up. Right when his alarm went off M2 needed a bottle and M woke up. So much for sleeping in. When M2 falls asleep again, I'm hoping to take a nap with him. Not much on the agenda today. I have some phone calls to make, but that's it.
Also, M spilled water on my phone yesterday. I didn't think it got inside, but my screen started going crazy last night, so it's been in rice overnight. The screen is still acting funny. Ugh. I may be making my second insurance claim this year. I hate switching out phones. It takes forever.

She's a lab/pit mix. We've always had labs and they really are great dogs! Our friends son has a service dog and he's a yellow lab. He's the best. Might have something to do with the 20K in training though lol. I'm a firm believer that a dog is what you make them. Our dogs have always been great, and I think it's because we worked with them, we taught them how to behave, what our expectations were if them, and they aimed to please. We had 1 dog that had an issue. She was a blue heeler mix and we did not properly socialize her. Because of that, when people came over she went bezerk. And she bit/nipped 2 people. It was only upon entering the house, so we learned to put her in the bedroom until every one was settled then she was fine. But I blame ourselves for not socializing her properly. Sure, formal training helps, and there's always a few exceptions that no matter what you do, the dog might just not be a good dog. But I really feel a lot of that lies with the owners. My FILs dogs are crazy....but so is he. Lol. I see the way he is with his dogs and I don't think it's the dogs fault.

I'm at work. The cat knew he was getting medicine this morning so he hid under the bed. I told mh to do it and he said he would "try". We'll see if the cat gets his meds this morning. Mh stayed home to wait for a plumber he never heard back from. He seems to think the guy will magically show up today. I'm not saying or doing anything since I told him to handle it, but I'm sitting here stewing because he's handling it all wrong. LOL
My cough is back. I'm not sure it ever went away completely. I'm hoping it's just allergies this go round, but if it lasts longer then a day or two I'll give the ENT a call. DNW to cough for another 2 months before seeing him again.
Cadence has started doing pushups. I don't know where she saw them or why she does them, but she randomly goes and does like 3 or 4 and then goes back to normal. My kid is a little odd. She came into my room yesterday with her cape, sunglasses, and a hat on. Then she said she was ready to go shopping. I kind of wanted to take her out like that so I could feel like I was with an incognito superhero.

lahdeedah, that was my very fave part of my mat leave. After mh and B left for work/school, I would bring C to my bed and nurse him. He would always drift back to sleep and I would just lay there, enjoying some newborn snuggles and a little bit more sleep for myself. Of course, it was winter time - so extra nice that I got stay warm in bed and not go out in the cold!

Sorry for the sleepless nights, I'm right there with you guys! I do sat my friends Malti-poo last night. Little dogs aren't my favorite, but she's actually pretty sweet. But I didn't sleep well just because she kept moving around in her kennel and I always sleep light and hear every noise when dh is out of town.
Dh and Landon get home late this afternoon. I'm excited, I miss them. I also have my follow up dr app this morning, and I feel slightly nervous. I'm sure everything's fine, and I'm hoping she will release me back to full activity, but I don't like that dh isn't in town to go with me. Some small superstitious part of me feels weird that I'll be getting an ultrasound right at the peak of the eclipse here. lol, I think I just keep picturing that scene from the leftovers!

I have a lab, if anyone is looking for one... 😜
Hi!
We made blueberry muffins this morning and now I'm doing some laundry while C naps. I mentioned to B that it would be getting dark in the middle of the day and he asked if we could wear our pjs to eat lunch. Sure, kid, whatever floats your boat.
We might run out to Lowes after C wakes up to look for flowers for the front porch.
Other than that, probably just pool time, and I might actually cook dinner tonight.

chrisy01 cagoldi I'm not sure what my schedule will be like, since it all depends on how my dad's surgery goes tomorrow, but would y'all maybe want to meet for lunch on Thursday or Friday?
