All the local wineries are closed today. :-(
So we're going to sit outside of our office and drink wine. :-)

I just sent a message to mh telling him how nosy our kid is because she was unpacking someone's lunch for them. Then I realized I was the one spying on my kid through the dc cameras. I'm just as nosy!

I spent my first couple of hours at work texting with my boss's wife. She just had a baby a month ago and is having a rough time. She's considering supplementing but is feeling guilty, etc. I think she just wants to switch to formula because she hates breastfeeding. I told her a billion times that it's okay to not like it and it's okay to switch to formula. Poor thing. I know I was a mess when I switched with M. With H is more of a hallelujah moment. LOL. The only reason I lasted so long with him is because I'm cheap.

I sort of want to tell her about this place, but then I'll have to stop making fun of my boss on here.

I sort of want to tell her about this place, but then I'll have to stop making fun of my boss on here. I've mentioned 'my online mom's group' to my sister before but haven't actually told her specifics. A) I don't really know if it's her thing and b) yeah, I'm guilty of wanting to keep some things private (not that I'm hiding anything from her, and I never say anything bad about *her*...guess I'm just weird). I don't know if I've said it here yet but LSS she and BIL are pursuing IVF. Obviously with his profession they are incredibly well-informed but from a mental/emotional standpoint it's been really hard on her, and she has a hard time asking for help/support. My mom has been amazing and I've tried to pipe in when I'm able, based on what I know from this place and your experiences. Not sure what the point of all that is, except to say that you ladies are awesome and I do feel like we as a group can be a valuable resource.

Stupid Question Alert:
Do I need the kid's birth certificates for domestic air travel? I think I always bring them but never needed to use them but I don't remember.

kim22, the one time you don't bring them is when they will ask for them.

klong11 and tgrimes thanks. Just had a moment of panic because I found the boy's no problem but couldn't find DD's. Then I remembered I needed hers for soccer registration and I found it.

Our branch gave out the eclipse glasses so we saved back a pair to share. It's pretty neat! It's only partially covered right now but it's cool.

Sitting at the doctors office waiting to be called back. Hope they are on schedule because I have to leave Straight from here to go pick up Lucas and take him to a dentist app, then straight from there to the airport.

I think I brought B's the first time we flew with him (he was only 3 weeks old) but haven't since. We've flown a lot and have never been asked for them. At this point, the only time I would would be if I had a lap child that was approaching the 2-year age limit, in case someone gave me a hard time.

When I picked M up from school, they had given all the kids eclipse glasses because they learned about it today. Guess who was outside looking at the eclipse with those glasses? It was cool, but not "breathtaking" like the news casters described.

The eclipse was very anticlimactic here. C was napping so B and I went out to play in the yard a few minutes before the "peak" time. Met one of our neighbors so glad I wasn't standing there peering into a cereal box camera.
