A new documentary airs on the Laci Peterson murder starting tomorrow on A&E. Anyone else plan on watching?

I'm glad some of you are in. This was a sort of local story when it happened and I followed it closely.

I'm so easily swayed. I went from "he totally did it" to "maybe he didn't" several times during this episode. I don't remember much from when it happened other than the outcome.

Is there any doubt he did it? I haven't watched obviously but I followed the case and I always thought it was pretty clear he did it.

It does mention 50% of the jurors called had to be excused because they already were convinced of guilt and calls into question some of the police actions including not following up with leads and fudging the date of the neighbor's robbery.

Interesting Jesslfar. I think I'm going to have to check this out. I still feel really confident he did it.

Interesting Jesslfar . I think I'm going to have to check this out. I still feel really confident he did it. It all seems like circumstantial evidence. They never found enough blood to establish where she died from what I remember. It was not clear she was killed either in the home or on the boat. If he had acted differently and consented to being on film right away, had begged the police to search the home for evidence and had not been having an affair I really question whether he would have been convicted. I do think he did it, I just can't figure out how he did it with so little evidence.

I read her mom's book a few years ago and it was a tear jerker but beautifully done.

I'm watching now.
I was working on a quarter life crisis when he was on trial, so I spent the whole thing watching Nancy Grace on my couch.

The police seemed to have dropped the ball on it. They said it happened two days later, but by then that street was full of reporters 24/7 so it seems pretty unlikely. I do remember there ended up being something about him randomly draining a pool and her relatives believing the pool may have been involved, but that was not discussed in this episode.

This is the crime story I followed most closely. I didn't follow online or anything, but whatever People Mag and Court TV and Dateline told me, I totally bought in.
I'm curious what I learn.
I was of the belief that Scott was maybe innocent until he dyed his hair blonde and planned to go on the run with $ and his brother's ID.

I figured there is more to come that will pull me back over to him doing it. That pool thing is shady. Does his family still believe he is innocent?

I like that the family members are directly telling the story in this.

For those who did not follow the case, eventually Scott dyed his hair and was going "to golf in San Diego." When he was arrested he did not have have golf clubs in his car, but did have the following including a water purifier and Mexican currency which you would need in Mexico and not San Diego. www.thoughtco.com/items-found-in-scott-petersons-car-972776

I figured there is more to come that will pull me back over to him doing it. That pool thing is shady. Does his family still believe he is innocent? I think his family did at the time of his arrest. His sister whose credit card he had when arrested gave an interview a few years after it happened and said she believed he did in fact commit the crime. www.nbcnews.com/id/7047103/ns/dateline_nbc/t/scott-petersons-sister-speaks-out/#.WZTyWKOZN-UThis is really long, but I will summarize: The sister was placed for adoption and met Scott as an adult, he was always "the Golden Child" of the family. She felt his personality changed when Laci got pregnant, she was asked soon after she went missing to help with his alibi. Scott left his sister's child's christening to go home and upgrade his porn channels and call his girlfriend. He flirted with his sister's babysitter repeatedly while his wife was missing, he never used his wife and child's name when speaking with his sister and he insisted the police wee looking at the wrong place. The sister claims Laci told her she enjoyed floating as a relief from the weight of pregnancy and she believes Scott drowned Laci.

Jesslfar, That's interesting. Listening to his dad and sister (I think) talk in this episode, it's like Scott was the greatest person in the world. Maybe they were blinded by his golden child status.

Maybe they were blinded by his golden child status. He comes off very much like a child treated as the "Golden Child." All of his actions look like someone who is either innocent and just a total asshole, or someone who thinks he can get away with anything. I agree completely about his parents and the way they talk about him.

I guess he expected to meet some ladies while camping on the run in Mexico?

I wish there was less Nancy Grace on this show. She just really grates.
