Stephen King got kicked off of Twitter last night for referring to Elon Musk as The First Lady.
That is all. 🤣

I only finished one book in October, In Search of April Raintree. It was good and important but very heavy.
I do have a bunch on the go now though. I will probably finish The Women in the next few days and am loving it so much (as I sob lmao). I also need to finish A Court of Wings and Ruin.

Over the weekend I read Games Gods Play and it gave it 3.5 stars. It was a quick read but ended on a cliff hanger. I did not realize it was the first in a series and now I have to wait until next summer I think for the next one.
Next I read Meet Me on Christmas Eve. I gave it 2 stars. It was not good.

I'm more than halfway through Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret and I'm enjoying it so far. It's a short holiday novella and I hope to finish it tonight or tomorrow.

I finished all I want is you. It was cute. It took place during the week leading up to Christmas but wasn’t really about Christmas so it was perfect. But now I’m ready for full Christmas

I only read six books in October which is like half as many as I typically read. I broke my 100 book goal though, which is nice. The Devil Made Me Brew It Dawn Of The Cursed Queen A Witch's Guide To Fake Dating a Demon City of Gods and Monsters A Demon's Guide to Wooing a Witch A Warewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire I finished The Roommate Situation so far for November. I stopped reading City of Souls and Sinners for a bit and today I went back to it. It's just SO LONG at almost 1k pages. What do you think of the Gods and Monsters series? I just finished The Book of Azrael and I’m about 200 pages into the Throne of Broken Gods. I’m going to spoiler just in case… I really liked the first book and I do enjoy that Dianna is in her powerful revenge era but I’m like please go back to being in love soon 🤣 We barely got anything in the first book and now we’re back at square one. Harumph.

Also hello. I don’t always go here but I do always read lol. Here was my October list:
The Priory of the Orange Tree - Samantha Shannon Love on the Brain - Ali Hazelwood Happy Place - Emily Henry Not in Love - Ali Hazelwood Legendborn - Tracy Deonn
I looooooved The Priory of the Orange Tree and want to read the prequel but I’m really close on my goal for the year so I need to bang out a few more quick romances. I know it’s not for everyone but if you enjoy high fantasy and strong female characters and feminism give it a go. But also know that When the Moon Hatched is my favorite book of the year and if you hated that one then you’ll probably also not like this one. I clearly have a type 😅

So maybe in January lol

Question that I haven't came across until recently. With the Holiday's coming up and wanting books, how do you buy a Kindle book for someone with it being under your Amazon account? I've never requested them before and I'm considering asking for some this year.

Under the regular buying options there should be a "buy for others" option where the buyer can enter the recipient's email address.

One of my favorite authors, Beatriz Williams (or more likely her social media team member) replied to my FB comment on the post where she announced her book is up for a Goodreads choice award.
I'll ride this high through to the end of the week.

Bright Lights, Big Christmas is definitely cozy and cute, but for some reason it just didn't completely work for me. But it is one of those books I might have rated a lot higher if I had read it at a different point in time or something. Hopefully you will enjoy it! It was like that for me too and I read it at Christmas time. It was just missing something I read the first six chapters of Bright Lights last night and like it so far. It seems predictable and light in a fun way. I'll check back in when I'm done LOL. I normally wait until after Thanksgiving for these kind of books but am glad I didn't. I even let my 7 year old put small Christmas decor in our yard already. It's been that kind of year!

I started The Children's Bible book with high hope and excited since it's under 300 pages on my kindle. I didn't get through the first chapter before feeling depressed so I'm DNF for now.

I’ve finished a few books over the past couple of weeks. I read and loved Once There Were Wolves and The God of the Woods. They were both beautifully written and held my attention throughout. I also read Some Choose Darkness by Charlie Donlea and meh, it wasn’t my favorite by him but was ok. I finished Pictures of You by Emma Grey this morning and OMG it was so ridiculous. I really liked her first book but this time it was like she entered a challenge to see how many obstacles she could work in for her couple. There was amnesia, death of a spouse, death of a parent, infidelity, SA, DV, mental illness, suicide, illegitimate children, childhood cancer and murder! And I’m probably missing a few lol 🙄 I just started The Neighbor’s Secret by Sharon Bolton and I’m into it so far.

I started The Reformatory and I like it so far. The 500+ pages is a little daunting for me to think about. I wish I had more time to devote to it.

I finished A Novel Love Story last night and really enjoyed it. Her books always have such a unique twist that makes you think deeper and I appreciate that. And as per, her MCs from Dead Romantics are secondary characters in it. She appears to have another book coming out later this year I will definitely check out.
I'm finally making progress in City of Souls and Sinners, at 66% done. That's still over 300 pages to go, lol. It's finally picked up and getting good though, so I should be able to rip through the rest fairly easily.
I don't know what direction I want to go for my night time romance read. Suggestions welcome. I'm not ready for Christmas just yet though!

I read seven books in October, and three so far in November, and it's mostly smut. Idec lol. Emily Rath's Jacksonville Rays got me through dark times last week. October reads: - The Monsters We Defy by Leslye Penelope, historical fiction/ fanstasy and I loved this
- The Briar Club by Kate Quinn, I enjoyed this! I said, OMG, out loud at the twist
- The Dragon's Bride by Katee Robert, it's monster smut! Curiosity got the best of me but this was just weird hahah
- Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come by Jessica Pan, a memoir of self discovery
- Pucking Around by Emily Rath (Jacksonville Rays No. 1)
- Pucking Ever After, Vol. 1 (Jacksonville Rays No. 1.5)
- Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma, I wanted to like this much more than I did. I found the MCs to be annoying
November so far: - Pucking Wild (Jacksonville Rays No. 2)
- Pucking Ever After, Vol. 2 (Jacksonville Rays No. 2.5)
- Pucking Sweet (Jacksonville Rays No. 3)
I have several books half finished from throughout the year that I want to go back to this month and next, but right now I am reading Best Hex Ever by Nadia El-Fassi and Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams.

I really enjoyed The Author's Guide to Murder. I picked it up because Beatriz Williams was one of the three authors that wrote it. It was nothing like her normal stuff, more of a rom com with a cozy mystery. No great work of literature but it was fun.

I finished Iron Flame last night. I have theories! Next up is The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones, because I'm not done with spooky thrillers yet this season lol.

Im going to need a new fantasy series to get me through Thanksgiving break. Any recs for ones I may not have read yet?
I have recently read A Frozen River, which I think I thought was fantasy, but was decidedly historical fiction instead. Pretty good though! I also read Daydream from the Maple Hills series which was decent for the neurodivergence side, and The Matzah Ball, which was solid. Currently reading The Grandest Game and then it will be the new Richard Osman.

I finished Iron Flame last night. I have theories! Next up is The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones, because I'm not done with spooky thrillers yet this season lol. What kind of theories? Putting them behind a tag {Spoiler} First, that one of two things is going to happen - either Violet's second signet through Andarna is going to be something related to healing (like Brennan but better) and she'll be able to heal/cure Venin, OR she'll find ancient texts in the archives that detail how to do it.
My coworker who lent me the book has a theory that Vi's second signet will either be stopping time or talking to the dead. She also thinks maybe General Sorrengail was Venin while pregnant. My theory tacked on to that is maybe Violet's father found a cure and that's why Violet was born so weak. And if Violet's second signet is talking to the dead, she'd be able to talk to her father to get the info and cure Xaden.
Either way if Xaden is still venin at the end of book 3 I will be floored.
