king26, so sorry that you most likely have to go back to work at least for a little while. I can imagine that's not what you expected nor something you like to do at this point. Isn't there an option to stay home, or get signed off from work perhaps - since you'll be 40wk pregnant by then and all?? Especially since it'll likely just be for a very short period of time... When is your next appointment?

king26 ugh I'm sorry. The idea of going *back* to work at 40w sounds awful. Could you get a Drs note to excuse you from having to go back? muscari I'm glad babygirl is doing well, wish she'd stop scaring you!! Bummer you weren't in labor but will they check you tomorrow st your appt? Maybe all those BH are doing some dilating! elliecat17- yay for your MW thinking sooner rather than later! Fx. @starzia baby envy is real. But now that I could be induced it is sending me into a panic of "am I really ready for this?!?" jt2378 - ok so I thought the difference between BH and real contractions was that there would be significant pain with real contractions. My friend whose had two kids says not necessarily. So how are we supposed to know?? She said if you drink water and rest and they go away they're BH, but like, this morning I was having a bunch after a busy work night and then I came home and drank some water and tea and then passed out. I assume if they were real, I wouldn't have been able to fall asleep, but if they weren't hurting, why wouldn't I have been able to sleep? I don't get it and feel pretty dumb. I'm worried I'll be in labor and not even realize it now... AFM, I am 3cm and 90% effaced- HUUUUGE difference from last week! And am now slightly panicked he will come any day. Like I'm ready but not ready. Need to decide on an induction date - Dr says 8/18, 8/21, 8/24, or 8/26 are my options, or waiting til 8/26 as the latest he'll induce me at 41w. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😱😱😱😱😱

addymac, yeah I had BH earlier this time but that just felt like the tightening. In the last few days before my csection, I was having the super tightening feeling but also cramping like menstrual cramp feeling and it would last longer but they never became consistent or timetable but definitely felt different. I can't compare to my first because I wasn't having contractions at all even after my water broke. Ahhhh it's all such a mindfuck

muscari, Glad you are back home and baby is safe! Also, I start back to work on Wednesday, appointment is Thursday. I'm really hoping he comes before that but if not I'll at least have to go back on Wednesday. I have like 150 sick days but if I start BEFORE I have the baby my paid leave starts then as well. I only get 6 paid weeks so I don't want to take them until I actually have the baby. EEEK! addymac, When are you thinking about inducing? Or will you wait and see what happens and just induce at 41 weeks if you have too?

muscari, I'm just seeing your posts now. I'm so glad you went in and all is well although I'm sorry that baby didn't decide to make her appearance. Did they check your cervix or anything? Hopefully it won't be much longer!!! king26, ugh that sucks! I really hope baby comes before Weds!!

addymac, if you're already 3cm and 90% you might not end up having to be induced! Do a lot of walking this weekend and maybe baby will decide he's ready on his own!

cali that's what I'm hoping for- to walk this kid out. king26 - we've decided to hold off on scheduling an induction before the weekend and reassess on Sunday night/ Monday morning. I'm hoping I can get things going on my own. In a day or so I may be singing a different tune, lol. I'm going to try to get through work Saturday night and then we will see. It's really hard to decide what to do- mainly bc of my personal issue with the dates, but we will see. I had contractions every ten min tonight for like 2 hours and then they totally stopped 😏 So pfffft.

muscari 3 cups of tea a day king26 yeah I now know where I'm at, but how long have I been that way? Was it sudden, or have I been sitting at that for days? addymac yeah walk that baby out! I'm going to try and clean mine out this weekend. Or bounce it out. Or walk it out. Either way i'm hoping its out.

I'm not sure if I shared this with you all but DS1 & DS2 are hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. We found out that they had hearing loss when they were born at the hospital during the newborn hearing screening. We have done genetic testing, receive EI services and the boys are thriving. Baby girl had a 50/50 chance of also being hard of hearing or deaf.
I am over the moon to share with you all that she passed!!! I have a child that has full hearing!!!
I was honestly so nervous about her hearing screening. It had been on my mind for months, I already told our audiologist that I was anticipating needing to bring the baby to see her, I even had her hearing aids picked out. I can't even explain the relief and happiness I have!

I was discharged last night, but R is still in the NICU. I feel pretty sad about leaving her and I'm hoping to get back to the hospital by 11am. T was at an 11 last night, but she's being extremely cute this morning.

muscari sorry for the false alarm! I'm glad baby girl is ok though. addymac with DS I thought I was just having BH - they were only slightly uncomfortable, not painful, which is how I didn't realize I had actually been in labor most of the day at work. It wasn't until my water broke that I realized they were actual contractions (they had been coming every 8 minutes or so at that point). This baby was so different - the contractions were painful right off the bat.

Anyone else with outside babies suffering from severe night sweats? I had them with DS too and was told it was hormones from breastfeeding. I'm waking up absolutely drenched, it's so disgusting

unicornsparkles that's such wonderful news!! bsouls I'm sorry baby is still in the nicu. I hope she gets out soon and you can get over there quickly this morning. yoshijo 😭 I have a feeling mine will be a big mess after delivery ☹️ Oh well the price we pay for our babies!! But still terrified they might burst if I have to bear down and push really hard. jexxa !!! 😳 What a mindfuck! I just am so thrown off my game plan of "they're only real if they hurt a lot". At this point I guess I should just wish for my water breaking! That would solve many of my worries and conundrums, haha. Goodness.

On my way out the door from work this morning one coworker told me to get the baby out I should squat and scrub the floors. And then she told me I could also try a self-enema 😳 I ..... didn't know how to respond to that 😂

That would solve many of my worries and conundrums, haha. Goodness. I know! My labor this time was 4 hours and 2 of those were spent at home because even though my contractions were painful and 5 minutes apart, I was in denial because I was waiting for my water to break like it did last time. Meanwhile H is like "CALL THE DOCTOR NOW!" lol.

addymac, Hopefully you won't have to pick and baby will just come. unicornsparkles That's great news! yoshijo At my appointment on Thursday I might ask her to write me out. That way I'll go on wednesday which won't be too bad because it's a day at my school without kids...half day with the principal and half day working in my room. After that we are at other schools and it'll just suck.

addymac I'll join you on the contractions every 10 min for hours bench. It's been every night this week so far. And as an added bonus, 5 min apart starting at 430 this morning. Of course they've stopped now. I had the same thing with DS so I was kind of expecting it. It's exhausting for sure.

I'm waking up absolutely drenched, it's so disgusting Yes, but the crazy thing is I'm not even hot. I'm just soaked in sweat on my upper half. It sucks but from what I remember with my daughter, it only lasted a week or so. Hopefully that's the case this time around too. It's been happening for 4 nights so far.

jexxa, the night sweats are awful for me. Even my hair is wet. 😜 So uncomfortable and I keep a nursing pad next to my bed to wipe it off my chest. I don't know how long it lasts. unicornsparkles, that's amazing news! bsouls, glad you were discharged. I hope your LO gets released soon too.
