The weather has cooled down here at night. Anyone's LO's hands freezing at night? I feel so bad, the rest of her feels warm. None of the sleepers I own have the hand covers except newborn and those already seem snug on her. I remember using socks on DD1's hands but she was bigger I wrap DD up in a halo sleep sack (arms in) at night. Of course my little lady goes berserk with her arms contained π

I remember using socks on DD1's hands but she was bigger D. also has really cold hands while the rest of her is warm and fine. We tried to swaddle her but she hates not being able to move her arms.. We got a couple of 'handsocks' (gah I know they're called not that but I seriously have lost some of my English vocab for now LOL...) that are usually used to prevent baby from scratching their faces etc, which I put in when she sleeps in hopes it helps some.

I have been a little MIA from this board.... a little bit of a DD ahead.
It's been a crazy week and a half! I found out I have mastitis which is definitely not fun. Plus tomorrow I need to go for an breast ultrasound to see if it is now an abscess - so really not fun.. so of course I am on antibiotics and need to take them 4 times a day which sucks. Yet that's not even the worse thing...
Went to the hospital Friday for the high fever and chills becuase they weren't sure what it was from. Well it didn't matter becuase it wasn't even the worse thing. My BP was over 180/90 and I did have a horrible actually beyond horrible headache. So the doctor quickly becuase less concerned with infection and more concerned that I had pre eclampsia! Who freaking knew you could get pre e after deliver! I sure didn't. I had all the test done and was told to expect to be admitted. Naturally I was freaking out becuase I thought hmm.. Once baby is delivered pre e nightmare was over. Plus I never truly developed pre e which is why I was induced early.
The doctor was very blunt and went over everything that could go wrong and he explained why pre e is still possible for up to 6 weeks after delivery. Basically your body is still pregnant (or thinks it is). Thank God my pressure got down to the 150s and my blood work did not show pre e. I was however put on labetalol twice a day for BP and I am technically not in the clear. (6 weeks can't come fast enough)
The BP medicine is killing me, my body feels worse than it did before I started taking it.

Oh no cwbh928 That sounds really scary! So sorry that you had to go to the hospital and that your blood pressure shot up so high. I hope that you feel better soon and that it's not preeclampsia. I don't know if it helps at all, but I took labetalol throughout my pregnancy. There were definitely a few days when I started taking it that I felt very dizzy, queasy and light headed, but then those side effects went away. I found it had few side effects if I took it on a full stomach and stayed very hydrated. Of course, everyone is different so I don't know if that will help. Hope you are better soon.

When I followed up in the office yesterday, i spoke to the ob about the side effects and she basically told me it could take a week for the dizziness and whatnot to level out. So that's reassuring. Today has been better so far and food does help. The other crappy thing is how stuffy this medicine and the antibiotics make me! It's giving me such bad sinus pressure!

So far, baby is still staying put. At this point, I figure I'm likely getting induced this weekend/early next week. We'll see what the OB says Friday morning.

pennylane @pepperpottjs I hope that your babies will be like D. And decide that no way are they being evicted.. and will come on her own terms juuuuust prior to being induced (she made known to wanne come out the day before induction day and was born on heh). AFM we are doing okay! Sooo in love with mu beautiful lil girl! π I just find it impossible to find a moment for some real me-time, with all the feedings and diaper changes and cramps and what not. Makes me envious of MH who does.. It doesnt help that MH came down with something and has been sick for the past couple days. So i been trying to give him extra time to rest by taking care of the baby on my own a lot which is rough esp also since I am recovering from the CS and all. Breastfeeding kicked in on Monday which is awesome and she/wealso finally figured out how to latch on properly - I am so relieved as it was a bit of a struggle. Now MH&I are waiting for her lil stump to fall off (such an odd smell!! π).

Thanks everyone!
Luckily ultrasound didnt show a abscess so relieved!
I do now have to make another appointment with my OB since earlier my BP shot up to 170s/100s. I called and doctor told me to up dose and come in tomorrow to get it all squared away! Annoying! Plus my sinuses are killing me!

Great news about the lack of an abcess cwbh928 but booo on the BP. FX the higher dose will make a difference and the sideeffects wont ramp up too much!

So I weighed DD by standing on the bathroom scale by myself and then with her, and the difference was 9 pounds. She was 7.9 at birth, so that's awesome! I noticed yesterday that her NB clothes are getting tight and she's dangerously close to leaking out of NB diapers, so I'm thinking I'll switch her to 0-3M stuff and size 1 diapers this weekend.

We had to ditched the NB diapers around the 2 week mark. It is so crazy since our DS1 was in newborn for over a month.

I finished addressing R's birth announcements and writing the few thank you notes I needed to. Although, I forgot to send one to Disney World and I guess I'm going to try the White House, since I have a greeting for T.
