9.1 miles on the tread, done. I had a 90 minute run queued up, but after last weekend's disaster I swapped to three 30 minute runs instead so I had bail out points if I needed them. Except I had a FABULOUS run. I had time for another mile and I should have squeezed it in, but my last mile felt amazing and I decided to end on the high note. Stretched and I'll foam roll later. My folk's are coming into town for the weekend, so food will be whatever.

I finished week 3 of Stronger You yesterday. One week left. Need to get some cardio back in! But took a “rest” day today (two soccer game and the season finale so not much rest)

sewfi2 sorry you're dealing with storm impacts, even if it feels minimal compared to others. My sister just moved to the southeast after living all over the US over the past decade and a half and she's encountered more severe weather in the past few months than cumulatively anywhere else.

I have been so productive the past few days. No workouts but lots of moving my body while cleaning, reorganizing, and getting out and about with the kids. Food has been convenient but largely in check in terms of choices, portions and minimal snacking in between.

Ran the Portland Half today! It was SO much fun, I'm so glad I signed up! Such a blast running through the streets of Portland! I PRed at 1:51:57 (8'32"/mile) and came in 28/280 in my division and 210/2355 for women. Funny enough, afterwards I hit up my apartment's hot tub and there were 3 other people there who ran the race, so we started chatting. The woman said that she "won" so I asked her, was it her division? No, she won the half marathon for ALL WOMEN! LOL! I asked her what her pace was and she said it 5'49"! She was being sheepish about it so I told her to own that shit! She's also 28 and said she's old and I was like, "...bitch please!"
Just been chilling out, stretching, watching some TV and enjoying a really chill day! I tried to nap but no luck. I'm sure I'll go to bed early tonight!
I have a tentative goal next year to run one half marathon a month. I think I will need to run some halfs in California and Arizona but that shouldn't be a problem since I also travel to those regions for work. I think it would be a fun challenge, if I don't end up injured, of course. I'd like to see how much I can get my pace to improve in a year's time.

Oh, hey. I haven’t checked in yet this month. My life is a mess right now and I’m Dory out here. Just keep swimming.
October marks one year from when I crawled back in here and said I was really going to stick with running this time. Like for real for real. And I did it! I’ve been consistent for a whole year. I’m ready to set a new goal for myself and that’s to add more mileage. I’d like to work up to a 40 mile week for my 40th birthday (end of November) and if I can maintain that amount on average I could hit 2025 miles in 2025. It’s a big goal but I think I can do it. I ended this week at 27 miles so I’m not super far off from where I want to be. Mostly thanks to just finishing half marathon training.
This is also embarrassing but I think it shows how much progress comes from consistency. My first run last October was 1 mile at a 14:20 pace. My heart rate on that run topped out at 194 🙃. Compare that to my run today. I ran 8 miles at an 11:05 pace and my heart rate averaged 161, which is 2 bpm above zone 2. Sometimes it’s hard to see progress day to day, but if you look back over time you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come. Thank you to all of you wonderful ladies for listen to me ramble about running for the last year ❤️

bunnyfungo consistency is an amazing thing! I think that's my favorite part about running, seeing the gains over time. 2025 miles in 2025 would be huge!

it rained all day yesterday so i didn't run. i should have because it was mostly a drizzle and probably would have been refreshingly clean to run in it. iykyk doesn't look like run club will happen tonight due to stupid milton already affecting the state's weather. this week feels like it's going to be a shit show with this hurricane coming thru. i am going to up my strength workouts if i can't run.
still trying not to eat like an asshole but i am failing.

Skipped my long run again yesterday, 2 weeks in a row. There's so much going on in life right now that I'm trying to give myself grace. I did decide even though he was out of network to pay a few more visits to the chiro, one of my friends from A14 is a chiro and said she thought the manipulations really did sound beneficial in my case.

Oh hi.
Yesterday I did a 45 minute ride, stretch, and 20 minutes of yoga.
This morning I did a Sims 60. I started right on time but had to pause to wrangle the dog, which caused me to run over time and into H's time for working out. He definitely just glared at me for the last two minutes, lol. Sorry, my dude.
Food was a nightmare all weekend. I've got things mostly tracked for today so far. Back at it.

Yesterday I swam 3000+ yards. This morning I did Leanne’s 30 minute body appreciation ride and I have PT later.

Seriously impressed with the mileage/yardage/time drops in here!!
Got to the gym today for squats, I’m really happy with how my strength is bouncing back (have been tapering/race weeking for a long long time it seems). I’m consistently lifting heavier weights than I did at this point a year ago. So I’m excited about that. Cardio on the other hand has come to a screeching halt. I did a warm up on the bike today which felt ok so I’m planning to cycle tomorrow.

Well yesterday was the Twin Cities marathon so it was all over my feed and I’m maybe kinda sorta thinking about it for next year. I would want a bigger base for that so it seems like a good way to hit a big goal and also be prepared in case I do decide to do a full 🫣 I did trick my sister into doing a half with me on her birthday in July too lol

Tonight was a super easy zone 1 recovery run for 4 miles. I did the first part of it as a run walk with the 6 year old. She has been begging to do a race with me since her older sister did one this summer so I found a Halloween 5K for us. She’s worked her way up to run walking a mile and a half which is so awesome. And now that I’m not training for anything I’m enjoying just going with the flow.
Followed it up with a mom/daughter date to Culver’s for a Curderburger. Because it’s about balance lol. And it’s not fall in Wisconsin until you’ve had one!

I had an appointment at the orthopedist for elbow pain that I've had ongoing for months. He quickly diagnosed it as tennis elbow and gave me a cortisone shot. No exercise this afternoon for me, my arm was in so much pain and so stiff that I could barely function. I'm supposed to start PT for it in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to hopefully be able to do weights again in addition to little things like lifting my coffee mug and carrying groceries soon!
Luckily, I got in a walk with the dog while we brought the boys to school since I was home so I got some movement. I also had to park and walk for soccer tonight so I probably got in at least .5 miles there too. Food was on plan today too although I didn't track it. I really need to make sure I do because that's the difference between maintenance and weight loss for me.

Oh no, sorry, I didn't realize how I made that sound! I don't live in that area anymore, just born and raised (and we visit annually). I've been up in Georgia since 2010, which was why it was so surprising to deal with the damage and all! My MIL is still in that area (around New Port Richey) and we've been offering to go get her- she's currently planning to stay with friends that live in I think Oldsmar (which is not far enough inland in my opinion, but she won't be alone at least). It looks like we're not going to get any effects from this storm, but I've been researching generators for future use. I believe you're on the opposite coast- are you ready for it?

Chiro recommended I check with my PCP on a possible round of Pred. He said we can keep working on the mechanics but I may have some inflammation around the nerve root that causes the pain to persist. I shot my PCP a message to see if he would be willing to handle the Rx.

I have been feeling hella anxious the last 2 weeks and I have been taking the mood rides (sad/anxious) and they have helped a lot. I am trying to get back into riding 4x a week. So far so good this week! Last weekend I made like 17 freezer meals and it has been such a huggggge help. I just dump one in the slow cooker before work and it has saved us from so much takeout during sports days. I used a PDF I found on tiktok with 6 recipes and a grocery list to make it all at once. this is it (the crockpot one): stan.store/emyxbudgetsahmit is free but they send to your email.

No, oldsmar is still close. Keep trying to get her to go further north or east. Traffic is a bitch though, all major roads are gridlock with all the evacuee's.
I am east coast, correct. We are prepped and as ready as we are going to be. I plan on picking up a 6 pack of good beer tonight. Schools closed tomorrow. Need to do some laundry tonight and tomorrow morning but we should be good. Our major threats are flooding (my house is not in a flood zone, we are on high ground.), tornado, and high winds. Oh and loss of power of course. I think I am more annoyed with how slow it is moving and that it will come over night. That means zero sleep.
If your mom starts heading northeast and needs a place, let me know!

I was able to fit in just under 5 miles yesterday with run club. It was overcast but dry. I think I may get a run in today too. fingers crossed the rain holds off.

I got 5 miles in in 55 minutes tonight. Which sounds like a nice easy run. But it’s a trick lol. My watch gave me a VO2 max workout so it only averaged out to that because of all my walk breaks. It was basically 800m repeats and it suuuuucked. But my VO2 actually went up for the first time in like 2 months so I guess it did its job 🤣 I have a love hate relationship with speed day.

Motivation was lacking today but I got out on a bike ride anyway. Kept it nice and easy, went a little over 8 miles/40 minutes. Foot is still not great so it’ll be a few more days at least before I’m running. :/

Hi
Junk night of sleep between the dog and the kids. Slept in then squeezed in a 20 minute ride and a stretch after school. Did a 20 minute yoga and that's it for me. I need everyone to sleep tonight so I can run in the morning.
