Kroger had bags of apples bogo so now I need apple recipes because I don’t pass up deals anymore Do you have a dehydrator? My mom got H and I one for Christmas one year and literally the only thing we do with it is make apple chips. But the kids love them, they are super easy, you can make a ton at once and they stay good, they make the house smell great, and they are great addition to gifts. When covid first started and they were delivering meals every day, it was almost always apples. At one point we had something like 30 apples, and making apple chips blew through the stash easily. No dehydrator but i should look at one

angelashly, how many actual pounds of apples did you get? We'd always start with applesauce an apple crisp then a pie But when I had hundreds of pounds of apples on my trees I'd do apple butter in the crockpot and you can make up an apple pie mix but freeze it the trick is to layer aluminum foil in a pie pan fill it like you are filling a pie crust freeze and then lift out the premade pie so when you want pie you get a crust and slide your frozen filling right in there either let it sit out til apples aren't fully frozen anymroe or add about 5-8 minutes to your pie bake time

Y’ALL.
We finally (two year wait) got H’s disability finalized. 100% lifetime disability. This is lifechanging for H. I can’t even right now.

Dd and I do but h doesn’t so I don’t make it much I normally am with your H and not a huge fan of pork chops or anything, but this recipe for pork loin and apples might be worth a shot. I use whatever apples I have on hand, and I like to add more than the recipe calls for, but that's just personal preference. ***************** 2 ½ lb. pork tenderloin Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste 2 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme 2 tbsp. chopped fresh rosemary 1 tbsp. butter 1 cup apple cider, divided 2 large or 3 small tart green apples ( I sometimes use other kinds) peeled, cored & sliced 2 tbsp. honey 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Rinse pork and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper and coat on all sides with herbs. Melt butter in a large ovenproof skillet. Add pork and cook over medium-high heat until well browned on all sides. Add ¾ cup cider to skillet and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated. Add apples to the skillet. Stir together remaining ¼ cup cider, honey and vinegar; pour over pork. Place skillet in oven and cook for 20 to25 minutes more or until pork reaches 145 degrees F on a meat thermometer.

I made the mistake of sautéing purple carrots with shrimp and it all turned into the most disgusting green poop color. It was tasty but we had to dim the lights way down. 😒😅🙃

angelashly omg I would bake all the things. Muffins, apple fritters, oatmeal. Crumb cake. You could make pie filling and freeze it for for later. I'm itching to do some fall baking!

We’ve been making apple nachos as an afterschool snack- I slice up apples, drizzle over peanut butter, sprinkle on chocolate and butterscotch chips. The boys have been loving them and we’re flying through apples.

DS picked his weight in apples at a local farm. We did a big-ass crisp, muffins, and crock pot cinnamon apples. And we still have probably 2-3lb left. He likes me to cut them with the crinkle cutter to make apple “fries” to dip in caramel.

Maybe he would actually swallow them if I do this.

So happy for you, hawkward. I used to work for SSD and it was....yeah. I wasn't happy with the process at all. Probably why I didn't last.

This thread tricked me into yard work yesterday. I was dripping in sweat within minutes and I barely made a dent in the leaves. Hurry up Fall! 87* is just rude and I really need to paint my back steps without melting.

We are still getting mi to upper 70s this weekend but it’s better than 89

Yard work. Nope. Shan't.
I do have to get someone to come out and pick up all the cut down branches in my back yard though.
