I got them on the road and I’ll have 27 or 28 hours to myself. 🙌🏻

I did some garden clean up this morning and ordered groceries, and we have friends coming over tonight for Oktoberfest- H just went to the German market for goodies.
It's nice to be home for the weekend.

My fiance's oldest son was in a motorcycle accident today, hit a deer. He lost consciousness and they found a brain bleed, plus he broke his collarbone. He lives a state over. Naturally SO is freaking out and trying to figure out what he can do and I'm having to be very there's nothing we can do right now. How terrible. I hope there's positive news for you guys today regarding his condition and recovery. ❤️

I'm kinda miffed, first world problem irritated. Its not even officially FALL! And the stores already have Christmas stuff out. I really don't think I can deal with a whole season, a quarter of our year! Like over 95 days of Christmas! Christmas in July was less than 2 months ago! Bah! Humbug! I haven’t seen actual Christmas stuff yet but I can definitely tell my Kroger is getting ready for it because they were putting up shelves with different price points on it

Rusty Red, any update on his condition? Hoping he's ok Our day in Salem yesterday was awesome! All the witch / Halloween stuff plus food truck festival. And DS walked the entire 6 hours without complaining, only complaint was that I wouldn't let him buy a yellow sequin tophat lol

Very sore and they couldn't give him "real" pain meds because of the brain bleed, but he's been resting. He has a manual labor job so definitely can't work right now. Thanks to all for your thoughts.

Yesterday my H and DS swapped furniture around so DS will have the basement and H is taking over what used to be the playroom, which is much smaller, with all his guitars and computer stuff.
This is a good move in the end as DS gets older, the basement is a much better space to hang out with friends, etc. But we are now at the stage where nothing has a proper home in either room, and we probably need to buy some new furniture and everything needs a deep cleaning, and it's stressing me out.
Plus my baby is growing up and I hate it.

My mom has a cognitive disfunction. Slowly progressive and it is not alzheimers or typical dementia. She has recently started telling me about her sexual desires in a really graphic way. I know it is a symptom, as she never spoke to me like that prior to a few months ago. So....that is fun.

lucilleaustero, I'm sorry. My mom got very inappropriate as her dementia progressed. She had to be carried on/off airplanes and I was ready to crawl into the floor with her commentary.

I took DS with me to the symphony yesterday. They showed the movie Jurassic Park and the symphony played the score throughout. It was amazing! And I admit I teared up when the theme played. That scene when they first see the dinosaurs and the theme plays for the first time made me cry.

What do you wear with dresses? Leggings, tights, hose?
Not like, formal dresses - but casual/office/church. I've never been a big dress fan but am gravitating more towards them lately. Bare legs won't cut it when temps start to drop.

bearfootzcontinued, I usually stick to leggings and boots for non-work dresses. They're more comfortable to me than tights or hose. To be fair- it's hot where I live. I rarely have to put anything under my dresses.

I usually wear black leggings under dresses. I also find them more comfortable than tights. There was a time when I had multiple colors/patterns of leggings to wear under dresses, but as leggings themselves went out of style (after the fall of LuLaRoe), I cut back to just black. If a dress can't be worn with black leggings under it, I don't buy it unless it can be worn when it's warm enough to wear with nothing under it (well, I still wear bike shorts under dresses, for comfort/to not worry about wind/for pockets if the dress doesn't have them).

One of my babies got her license today. The other is waiting for her appointment to be scheduled. I am excited for the freedom it will bring them but man this is going to take some getting used to.

Our daycare is starting monthly Kids Night Out events. I was worried little kid wouldn't be interested since he doesn't seem to really like going to daycare but he was all in. This may be the best thing to ever happen to me.

Just got an email that Summer 2025 Camp Early Bird registration is NOW OPEN and the early bird rate ends Nov 1. DS has actually aged out of camp. IDK what we're going to do with him next year. He is vaguely interested in being a CIT which I really want to encourage. But literally I just finished paying for camp. I don't want to think about it again.

They just want $50 to hold your spot. But I feel like it was a month later last year. ETA that's a lie I think they want a week's deposit. IDK. All I know is I pay for camp 9 months out of the year (but I am grateful they do installments!)

This one always fills up too- the early bird notice goes out first to returning families, as a courtesy, I guess. But it's always full by January.

The YMCA camp my son attends one week a summer literally opens the next years registration as soon as the week 1 campers leave. Like, he usually goes the first week, and I register him on the drive home when I have signal. At least he’s always hyped up on those camp endorphins and is enthusiastic when I ask if he wants to go the next year.

Kroger had bags of apples bogo so now I need apple recipes because I don’t pass up deals anymore Do you have a dehydrator? My mom got H and I one for Christmas one year and literally the only thing we do with it is make apple chips. But the kids love them, they are super easy, you can make a ton at once and they stay good, they make the house smell great, and they are great addition to gifts. When covid first started and they were delivering meals every day, it was almost always apples. At one point we had something like 30 apples, and making apple chips blew through the stash easily.
