I finished book 5 of the Blood and Ash series and now I’m very annoyed that book 6 doesn’t have a solid release date yet lol. I think I will start on the prequel series. cnf If you want another good fantasy series like the SJM ones, I recommend adding the From Blood and Ash series to your list! I have Reckless to read after SJM, then I really need to read the pile up happening in my Kindle, lol. Then, yes, I will read that series!

My reading is also much slower than last year, but I finished 5. The Phoenix Crown and the last MD were my favorite. I'm a quarter through The Rom-commers and enjoying it! Also about half way through our Wives Under the Sea. I let my Phoenix Crown hold lapse and go back to the library. I usually like Kate Quinn, but it just seemed so slow to me. I think I was like 40% in. I do think when my hold comes back in, I will resume. that one was by far my least favourite of hers. I also found it slow and overall it was meh for me.

I need to figure out how to read AND listen to two different books. I've been on an audio kick, but dug out my kindle to start eye reading again...but the thought of listening to one and reading another just blows my mind.
Currently listening to ACOMAF and I'm a little over halfway through.

I’m going through a rom com phase after DNFing too many other genres. I finished Yours Truly at the end of last month without realizing it was a trilogy. So now I’m reading Part of Your World. I’m not a big rom-commer, but I like Abby Jimenez. In between, I read another Elsie Silver book that was kinda meh. I'm reading them in order. I loved Part of Your World. LOVED. And I was thrilled to learn that Yours Truly centered on Bri, because she was a freaking delight. I just finished it this morning and was a little disappointed in it overall, but am looking forward to book 3.

Currently listening to ACOMAF and I'm a little over halfway through. I find it easier if I have 2 very different books. If they are similar styles or the same genre then the context switching can be hard. Right now I am reading a sci-fi novel and listening to a non fiction about momfluencer culture so it’s easy to jump between listening and reading

I actually really liked the slow burn character development and sense of place (I did audio, maybe that helped?) but there were several plot holes for me and I thought the ending of everyone pointing at the bad guy and saying he's a bad guy was lame.

I do rom coms at bedtime and whatever else during the day. Except right now while I'm binging SJM. I'll return to my regular reading habits eventually, lol.

I finished 3 thrillers recently and I liked (but didn’t love) all of them. I read Middle of the Night by Riley Sager, The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley and If Something Happens to Me by Alex Finley. The reviews for these were all pretty bad but I honestly enjoyed them all. Maybe because I didn’t like the previous books from each of the authors, my expectations were low?
I have 4 more thrillers from the library but I’m going to try to squeeze in a romcom, Under Your Spell, first.

cnf I know you’re reading them quickly but are you glad you went into the TOG series? It is really hard for me to pick my fave protagonist between CC and TOG (Feyre is always last lol).

I'm loving them! I'm already like a third of the way through the fourth book then I'll jump back to read CC3. I'm definitely loving Aelin though!

If I'm listening to a romcom, I have to be physically reading a thriller. I need totally different genres so that I don't confuse the characters or plots.

I finished Mexican Gothic by Sylvia Moreno-Garcia the other day. I thought it was a really good mystery/horror, actually quite unsettling/disturbing but in a way that made me want to keep reading, if that makes sense.

I listened to all of Dave Grohl’s memoir on a very long drive on Sunday and it was SO good. I know it’s called the storyteller but was surprised at how good a storyteller he is.

I wasn't in the mood for Addie LaRue so I stopped that and moved on to Court of Mist & Fury. I am listening to it and I don't know why but I HATE the way the narrator does the voice for Rhys and Cassian. I might have to just read the book if I can't get over it.
Also, I have to read When Women Were Dragons for Sunday for my book club so I'm starting that today.

I'm just a book spazz. I have a nightstand book, a living room book, a pool book and a park book going most of the time. I read a lot but it takes a while to finish one whole book that way. IDK, it works for me.

I finished The Immortality Thief by Taran Hunt and really enjoyed it. It was fast and fun and everything I needed to break my slump, I wish i didn’t have to wait until February for book 2 in the series

I finally finished Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes and it was ok. The pacing felt off for me some reason and it also felt a bit repetitive. Read more like a thriller in space with small doses of sci-fi horror. I preferred Dead Silence by the author, but I will still check out the next thing she writes.
I just starting Blood on the Tide, a fantasy romance by Katee Robert and like it - it's the second in a new series by her and she rarely disappoints.
