I ended April with over 200 miles on the bike. I also (re) started PT, and started swimming again. I’m generally happy with that. I am hoping to get the inflammation in my ankle under control so I can begin running again.
My goals for May are 250+ miles on the bike. Consistent swimming. Keep on with PT twice a week. Tack on a short strength session 3 times/ week.

I didn’t do as much in April as I should have as far as strength, but I have been running more consistently the past few weeks. I’m signed up for a 5K this weekend, so, of course, AF arrived today. I’ll need to be disciplined the next several days with food, water, rest, and the other triggers to try to avoid my regular menstrual migraine. I don’t think I’ll do quite as well as the same one last year, but I feel prepared-ish!
I ran with a friend this morning. As we finished, I got a text from MH that a family friend has stage 4 cancer. Sorry to dump that here… just so sad. She is in her late 60s and has been a picture of health, daily walks, etc. No need for hair pats or even replies, but I’ll know all your likes mean a hearty, “fuck cancer.”
I had such mixed feelings finishing up my run of being grateful for my own relative good health, fear of the unpredictability of it, rage at fucking cancer, lack of a cure, the unfairness of it. Emotions all over the map but mostly just sad.

I started this morning with a 30 minute intervals and arms class with Ben. At one point I stood on my bike and my ankle made a really audible pop/crunch sound. 😬 I don’t think it’s any worse though.

Did a 30 min outdoor 80s run. Promptly hit “skip” when the (apparently new) add mileage manually popped up and now it didn’t track my mileage for my run. And it says I only burned 26 calories. I’m wondering if it’s not going to track at all and I’m going to have to add every thing? That seems dumb. I’d rather have a mostly accurate tracking that have to enter my own mileage. Grrr.

I guess to basically double-post from the April thread, I finished April with a 5 mile neighborhood run and a total of 95.92 miles, plus some strength workouts. Started May with a 2 mile early run and my usual oatmeal set up. Lunch will be the last of the Thai red curry I cooked the other day, dinner will be cheeseburger mac (with banza pasta and vegan cheese). Snack choices are: blueberries, dark chocolate & sea salt covered almonds, an apple, and an rx bar.
I still need to write out a meal plan for the rest of the week.

April was a very good month for me.
I did 4 weeks of RK's 5-Day Split and also kept up with running 2-3 days/week with a minimum of one active recovery day.
I'm waiting til the weekend to take new photos and measurements vs late March. I'm doubt the scale has moved much but I do feel my clothes, pants and leggings especially, fitting a bit looser so I will take that.
I also started focusing on macros, protein especially, the last few weeks. Speaking of protein, I made the LLM Buffalo Chicken Spaghetti Squash Casserole last night and absolutely loved it as did MH, who can be a little picky at time. Definitely a keeper. I'm going to try out some more of her recipes but will likely pull the trigger on the meal plan app since that will make things that much easier.
My goals for May are to keep up with my strength training. I'll likely do 8 weeks of the RK split as I'm enjoying it so much. I thought it would be impossible to do 5 days of strength while also running 3 days/week but it's been doable and I'm not sick of the music yet. I think because I get so zoned in focusing on my form and breathing that I tend to tune her and a lot of the music out. I do suspect I'll have to get heavier dumbbells by month's end which is a good thing. Not sure what I'll do after the 8 weeks but will be looking at the other programs but also individual workouts to see if I can customize to my needs. I'll also want to do a 4-day split as much as I have enjoyed the 5 day split, it can be tough on running days, and I think 4 days of strength would be my sweet spot.
I also want to keep tightening up my nutrition, including tracking consistently, and trying out different recipes or looking for ways to make favorite ones healthier and more nutrient-dense.

April started off slow due to life but ended well. I’m really loving the run clinic I joined. So for May I’ll continue that 3 times a week, and add in strength 1-2x weekly.
I have my first trail race on Mother’s Day, and my kids are running it too! Mine is about 8km, big kids are doing 3km (though they probably could do the longer one with me, esp DD), and my 5yo is doing 1km. I’m really looking forward to it. My SIL and niece are running too. Should be fun!

How is it May?
I have a 5K on Saturday, good chance of a storm so we'll see if it gets called. Otherwise no real goals for the month, I'm just plugging along as per.

I’m ready for May, it’s been a cold and rainy spring here. Bring on the sunshine!!
April was pretty good for me, I ran a little over 80km. I have a half marathon the first weekend in June, so that is my main goal. I’ve only done one last February and am hoping to beat that time by a little bit.

I did 3km today, 2 at 4:50min pace and 1 at 4min pace but split into 3x330 meter chunks. My first time trying out a sprint or pace workout, I didn’t have a lot of time but it went ok. We spent the day walking around a farm outside the city and feeding baby goats in the forest, so all in all a great day off (it’s a holiday here today).

Another bike ride today. Turned around at the exact same point but somehow got nearly a mile less than I did for my brick???? 😒😒
Also it’s windy AF here today and of course I was into the headwind on the return. Like 20 mph sustained and 30+ mph gusts. At one point I was going 8 mph with a HR in the 170’s. lol good resistance training I guess?
Goals for this month: keep up with strength 2 times per week. I’m just over halfway on my tri training plan so feeling good about that. I also REALLY need to prioritize sleep. Life things are happening so it’s a bit hard at the moment but i need to find a way to get to bed earlier.

This happened to me once, but has not happened again. I think it had a bad GPS day, and needed my input to calculate. It may have even been an 80s run!

April went well - I did at least an hour of yoga/pilates and close to an hour of strength each week, and ran 2-3 times/week, including pushing my mileage. I plan to keep doing the same in May, with more and longer walks since I was laid off today and have some time while the kids are in school. Today, I started the month off with 20 minute Pilates, and a 3+ mile walk with the dog (we saw dolphins!)

Hello.
April was a complete train wreck for me. And now I'm definitely at the point in the school year where I'm just TIRED. It's absolutely pre-workout season from here until the end of June. I can't keep doing after school workouts, it's just eats up my whole evening it feels like.
I scrapped by though. I didn't lose any weight, but I more or less maintained, so I'll take it all things considered. I ran 83.4 miles and cycled 87.8 miles. Water intake was decent.
May goals are to get back to working out before school, run and ride 83+ miles each, tighten up my eating, maybe lose a couple of pounds, and be on top of my water intake.
I say all of that, but I did not get up this morning. I did a 30 minute interval run with Olivia, a 5 minute core with Rad, and a 5 minute stretch with Camila all after school. I'll do 30 minutes of yoga tonight.
Pre-workout and 4am tomorrow. I joined the May meditation challenge too and got a Bluetooth headband so I can listen in bed and do the sleep meditations. That's the goal.

I ran 125 miles in April, including my first marathon! But I really slacked on everything else (yoga, strength, other forms of cardio).
My goal in May is to get back into the HCOF calendar consistently, and I'd like to get to one or two Trail Sisters runs per month.

In April I managed 58.18 miles...sorry about the odd number cnf. lol. I did not do well with strength or stretching or yoga. April also kicked my butt so I am trying to give myself some slack. May goals are basically the same Run 75 miles Don't eat like an asshole Drink more water less beer Be patient

Yesterday I got up and completed day w1d3 of job 1 on bbod. Followed up with a 5 min peloton full body stretch. In the afternoon I did a 10 min walking warm up and then a 20 min becs interval run.
My foods were delicious and not completely healthy but man I do not regret the gyro for lunch or wood fired pizza for dinner, lol.
Today is a rest day. Might fit in a casual walk for some steps but that's it. I am going to see Rent tonight with a friend at a small local theater. I have never seen it before so I am excited.

Oh, hey look at me not getting up again this morning. I was apparently out of pre-workout. I really thought I had some in the back of the pantry. I'm just so tired, this time of year is the worst. And at the last second I opted not to bring workout stuff to school with me, which I'm now kicking myself for. Would have been nice to get a 30 minute lift in the weight room in at least. I have a faculty meeting after school today too. Bleh. I'm going to try and do a 20 minute ride tonight, because I need SOMETHING.
There are 34 more school day wake ups. I'm going out during my mid morning prep to buy pre-workout and I'm going to repeat that number ad nauseum to myself until June 24th.
I did a sleep meditation last night with my new Bluetooth headband though and that is absolutely the correct answer.

April was actually a really good month for me! I either ran or went to CF every day except 1. I ended the month with 45 miles running. I also signed up for and committed to Macros 101 and have gotten a TON out of it in terms of my mindset and why I constantly self-sabotage my goals. And I've lost 7 pounds and about 1.5% bf on top of it, so yay!
Mays goals are to keep up with Macros and my workouts. I signed up for the open gym option at CF so I can target some problem areas - mainly butterfly pull ups, my snatch form, and double unders. I'd also like to sign up for a race (either 10k or half) just to have some target for my running, but haven't even looked to see what's out there yet.
