Yesterday I took a rest day. This morning I got in an intervals and arms class and a stretch. DD is on spring break this week, and that is also exhausting.

Hi. I am here. Just haven't been posting cause i've been blah. C caught the flu on Sunday afternoon and still isn't back in school yet. I have been playing the do i have the flu as well game since then, but its all in my head.
I have been getting my runs in and that's about it. I really need to do strength and stretching yet I can't get myself to do so. I haven't been tracking my food either just trying to make good decisions.
Hoping to fit in a stretch and nice easy walk this afternoon.

The trail group met at a different part of the main system here last night to do the actual shortest route of it all, so I got 3.95 miles in last night. Felt pretty good, but I have been dealing with shin splints on my left leg for weeks now. I used kt tape for about a week, and I know I need to stretch and stuff (I used to get them when I first started skating), but my leg doesn't hurt when I'm just walking around so I don't really think about it like I ought to.

Monday I did some bodyweight and core strength and yoga. Yesterday I didn't have time to fit anything in - I prioritized playing a board game with DS2 instead of working out between getting home from work and making dinner.
Today I was planning to squeeze in a run within the next hour but if Peloton is still down I may not be able to! Fingers crossed I'm one of the users not affected because this might be my best chance to run today with my schedule.

Long swim today. Ended up somewhere around 1900-2000 yds. Of course made the rookie mistake of not charging my watch so it only tracked the first 700 🙄.
I’m still struggling to be consistent with strength training but putting it here that I’m doing it this afternoon!
ETA: did in fact make it back to the gym for deadlifts/row. Cut short some accessory stuff because no way do I want to B-stance RDLs every weight day

Peloton worked for me so I squeezed in a 5 minute warmup with Mariana and Wilpers' latest 30 minute endurance run where he recaps his Boston marathon experience.

I got up to do yoga this morning and was thwarted by the peloton app. Got some work done, and kids off to school though. I just finished a 30 minute house yoga with Chelsea, and will take a walk at lunchtime.
ETA: I scoped out live classes in the London studio this morning for our trip this summer, and there aren't ANY there for the whole month of June, so I guess I don't have to worry about that!

I was able to get in my workout at lunch (finally!). I'm mostly kidding but it's kind of crazy how attached I am to this app. I also realized I'm coming up on my 4 year anniversary (April of 2020) with using it. I have never stuck with any program like I have with this one.

In the past when I've dealt with shin splints, the shoes I wore during the day, even if they didn't bother it during the day, affected how my shin splints felt on my next workout. You may also want to look into different shoes. I've found different drops also affect it.

Ugh, hi.
DS had me up at odd early morning hours this morning and I missed my workout. I mean, I was awake in the 4am hour, but so was he. And we'd been up for a while at that point. Sigh.
Did a 30 minute ride with Mayla that I loved! She doesn't do any extra chatter and it was an amazing indie rock playlist. She has a good selection of English classes. Highly recommend. I also did a 5 minute core with Tunde. Missed getting to stretch because the same child shit his pants and required a bath.
I ate a pop tart at school, otherwise my eating has been fine and I'll keep it in check for the rest of the evening.
Yoga tonight.
I'm off tomorrow, so I'll run after the kids are all gone.

Evening!
20 min full body with Rebecca, 20 min Pilates with Aditi. 50 min walk this evening.
B - waffle, turkey bacon L - turkey club D - Skinnytaste zucchini turkey burger + oven fries (very turkey heavy day apparently) S - got Sweet Frog frozen yogurt with DS after his dentist appt. I had the original tart with some fruit and a little bit of candy S2 - maybe some cottage cheese and fruit

4 miles on the tread this morning. It's actually light enough now in the mornings that I could run outside, but it was only 30 degrees so no thank you. Spring can sprung any time now.

Still on my Pilates journey to master 8 increasingly hard episodes. Today was my first time trying level 6 and it was not horrible at all but there were 2 moves that I absolutely could not do at all so those will take me prob 2 months to achieve. I look back at all the previous moves I couldn't do and now I can so I'll get there!

15 minute hard style EDM run with Jess King 30 minute live EDM run with Jess Sims 10 minute arms and shoulders with Robin 5 minute core with Callie 10 minute stretch with Robin
Yoga tonight.
I went hard on the first run and crushed my 15 minute PR. Then my heart rate was uncooperative for the second, so I took it super chill and barely scraped out 3 miles. Body, why are you the way you are?
The kids and I all have dentist appointments in a bit, then DD1 is headed back to the doctor for her foot that she jacked up last week that isn't getting better. Time for X-rays, whompwhomp. We'll be having ice cream for an early dinner afterwards because what a crap day for her, lol.

Yesterday I had a tough PT session, and then DD is on spring break, so I took the day off and brought her to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. The cherry blossoms are in bloom, and it was beautiful, but I did overdo it with walking. My ankle was screaming by the time we got home. I iced it twice.
This morning I did a recent 30 minute hip Hop PZ with Denis. It was intense, and I squeaked out a PR. I followed up the ride with a cooldown and then a lower-body focused stretch session with Logan.

Sprint pyramid today. CD1 is imminent and I didn’t wanna but it’s nice out and that helps tremendously.
Anyway I also started paying more attention to the actual zones. Like my “work” zone 4 isn’t crazy fast (because I’m not fast at baseline lol). It’s in the 11 min mile range whereas last year I wasn’t even paying attention and while I can hit a 8-9 min pace for a couple of minutes, actually keeping it around 11 is much nicer. My HR is still zone 4 but I’m not gasping for air. So. That’s fun.
Also FFFC: since I’m using the training program input to my watch these are all “runs” now instead of “walks” which is what I’ve picked forever so I’m getting all the Apple Watch badges 🤣 “longest run” “fastest 5k” of which today was neither IRL, but it still gives me a hit of dopamine.

I ended up doing a 10 minute arms class with Tunde yesterday afternoon, and getting a couple good walks in. Today, I ran the two mile loop to the beach and back, and then took a 20 minute walk with H.

Soooooo, DD1 has a fractured foot. It's been a week. Stellar parenting on my part, truly. Off work again tomorrow to take her to the orthopedic 🤦🏼♀️
