I did a 5k in the forest this morning, it was cold and my body didn’t want to do it but I’m glad it’s done. I have a half marathon in a little over a month so I’m planning a long run next weekend and maybe another after that before doing a mini taper

Last week I had a work conference so I am so excited to be back to normal schedule this week. I have been tapering and trying to squeeze in some yoga and stretching but really have let strength work fall by the wayside.
Big Sur is this Sunday! They officially changed the course to an out and back so no Bixby Bridge but I'm still excited. Especially after seeing all the footage from Boston and then London yesterday.

35 min zone 2 run today. We all woke up feeling not great but not totally sick either. Today’s run was a LOT of walk/jog to keep zone 2 HR. But it’s super nice and sunny out so that’s helping at least.

I joined a run clinic (before I knew my OR date) so missed the first couple weeks but I went to my first one on Sat morning and it was great! Stayed in the walking group and we did about 4 miles in an hour, then had coffee and cinnamon buns at the coach’s house after. It was HARD to not go with one of the run groups but I’ll get there soon enough. Everyone is lovely so I think that’ll help keep me consistent and get me properly trained for my full marathon in August. Then yesterday I went for brunch and walked another 7km (4miles?) with the bf around downtown and the river valley. Can’t wait for spring - things are still very brown here.

The kid and I did a 5k race on Saturday. She got 3rd place for girls under 15 (small field, but I won't tell her that) and took 12 mins off her last 5k time! I got second in my age group for women (out of 5). Sunday I did a 10k in another small race and took 3rd overall female and almost beat my pb. Not too shabby!

🤣 I’m a never headphone person. They hurt my ears inside and out. You just need to find the right ones. Probably. Idk even over the ear ones feel like the sound makes a pressure on my eardrum that’s painful (yes as a medical person I know that makes no sense) I’ve thought about trying shokz (sp?) or various brands but I am not a huge music/podcast/audiobook person and very very rarely have I ever wished I had a set of headphones to use. I’m ok being weird like that.

Hello.
I planned for a rest day today with only a 5 minute core and a 30 minute yoga. Then I got home, late because I had a meeting, and the kids were playing outside with friends, H was fiddling doing whatever with the camper, and I was left to my own devices. Soooooo, I worked out, lol. I didn't do a lot, a 20 minute EDM ride with Emma, 5 minute core with Jess Sims, 5 minute stretch with Emma. And I still did my 30 minute yoga tonight. So, rest day became active recovery. Close enough.
Food was on point. Go me.

Evening!
20 min G/L with Adrian, 10 min barre with Hannah, 10 min core with Selena, 20 min 80s ride with Ben. I don't ride as much anymore now that I only get 3 a month, lol. I did a 50ish minute walk at the ballfield too.
B - yogurt bowl L - leftover Skinnytaste lasagna soup D - taco salad S - frozen banana w/ pb and dark choc chips

I walked 5km around my neighbourhood this morning, then got medical clearance for activity as tolerated from my surgeon, so I ended go joining my run club for a timed 5k this evening. Fun!

Oh my gosh. So I am alive. But ugh. I just feel like one excuse after another. But on Tuesday night last week I went down hard with a cold. It went quickly to my chest and triggered my asthma so it’s just been the worst. I took a day off work and slept all day but it didn’t even help. I’ve been feeling like crap since then. I finally got a better nights sleep last night so today I’m just deciding I’m not sick any more. Lol. But I am very close so feeling better.
I have been walking a lot with the dogs but other than that no strenuous exercise. Yesterday I did a 30 min slow flow evening yoga with Kirsten.
Today I did: 10 min core with Logan 30 min Motown ride with Leanne 10 min full body stretch with Matty

My legs did not want to work this morning. Ugh, so slow and sluggish.
Yoga TBD. I'm driving H and the girls to and from a show tonight in the city. I'd have to do it in between, so we'll see.
Food should be good.

Squats finally went well last night. Started off rough but I powered through and ended up having a fairly decent night with them. I did a lot of intentional recovery work this weekend and that should be part of what is paying off.
Food has been better than the last few months. Need to tighten it in a bit more, but don't want to do it all at once and burn out. I know I'm going to end up having to cut to make weight, which sucks, but it is what it is. (and yes, it's necessary. Going up will impact my placing and pay this time).
Food will not be good today, but today doesn't count.

I seek them out so I can finish in single digits in my age group. I never win but I also will never finish in the single digits or double digits in some of the more popular races i run! I also love being able to hear sounds around me since they go over my ears.

I was tired yesterday, so I took it easy - 30 minute yoga and a short walk. Today, I got up and did 20 minute g&l with Matty, and then a 4 mile run. I will take a short walk today to work some of the tiredness out of my legs - stacking a leg workout and a long (for me) run was maybe not my best idea.

Yesterday I only did two walks while at work. Better than nothing, but I could have done some strength at home.
Today I hit a 20 min pop punk ride and 5 min cooldown ride. Coaching softball later should close out my rings.

I went to crossfit this morning and that's it for me today. I really need a rest day, so I'm going to force myself not to do anything tomorrow (famous last words).
My food tracking has been on point. It's so nice to see progress.
