In the spirit of caring for my health, I scheduled my first mammogram for the week after my (40th) birthday in May. I'm not looking forward to it, especially because I expect to have ultrasound followups since I had ultrasounds when I was younger.

Lunchtime workout done
- 30 min P!nk Ride with Robin - I stayed seated the entire time - 5 min Post-Ride Stretch with Kendall
While thankfully my back is 95% better (thanks to some ibuprofen, heating pad, and stretching), I thought I'd better play it safe and hold off on my next strength workout for at least another day, especially with Back & Biceps next up.

Took a rest day yesterday that just included a walk with DS, but was back at OTF this morning.
It was my favorite kind of day- strength all around. Including inclines on the trend. Best.

Yesterday was a wash again. I sat during DDs lacrosse practice and ate a Chick-fil-A salad.
Today I did Wilper’s 30 minute pop punk ride and apparently hit my 250th ride. So that was nice.
Tomorrow is another office day so getting a walk in will depend on the weather.

::waves hi::
Sorry I haven’t been around. I’ve been working out but inconsistently and I’ve had a lot going on so haven’t had time to update.
We were on vacation last week in Sedona and the Grand Canyon. So lots of hiking and outdoor time. It was very refreshing and my baseline fitness made it possible for me to do everything I wanted with relative ease. I loved all the fresh air and beautiful views. Highly recommend for an active yet restorative vacation.
I have a 10k this weekend that I’m woefully unprepared for. I am in 5k shape but not quite 10k. I’ll gut it out but it won’t be pretty.
Today I did a 30 min intervals run with Wilpers, 5 min cool down walk with Joslyn, and a 15 min yoga for runners with Mariana.

I'm not looking forward to it, especially because I expect to have ultrasound followups since I had ultrasounds when I was younger. I just had one on Monday. It’s really not that bad, I promise. Hopefully no follow ups but it is somewhat common with the first one since they don’t have a baseline. Good for you for getting it done! I also went for my physical this week and requested my colonoscopy referral. My doctor said it’s not often she has patients ask for referrals. Embarrassing but I don’t even care. I need to know.

jaygee your 10k is going to be fine, you got this. Plus it's like you said about your vacation, your baseline fitness will get you to the finish line of that 10k! Just go out there and have fun.

Up this morning for Logan's 30 min live walk + run. I always forget about the live classes, since I have a short window to run in between putting one kid on the bus and getting the next one up and around. I also had time to tack on a 15 min 80s Rock Run with Jon on before it, so that gave me an easy 4 miles. Then a 5-min post-run w/ Becs and Logan's 5 min pigeon pose stretch for my poor, overly-tight hips.

PT for me this morning and otherwise a rest day. I’ll be on Matt’s 8AM PZ ride tomorrow. I was surprised he has one scheduled since he’s running Boston on Monday! Of course last week he did a 90 minute ride, and the next day was on for CVV’s pro-cyclist ride after a 13 mile run. I guess his taper looks a little different from mine. 😂

Good morning. I was absolutely dreading OTF this morning, because there was a 23 minute run for distance for the dri tri tread prep. It actually wasn’t as terrible as I was anticipating. I mixed it up with push pace (7.2-7.5) and base pace(6-6.2), and a little bit of walking. I ended up with 2.52 miles over the 23 minutes. I’m happy with that!
The floor work was really good. A mix of strength and endurance. I went pretty heavy for the high reps, and I’m going to be sore.

1300 stretchy swim today. Did my own thing and felt so good. I decided to do just do a long straight swim of 400 but once I got to 400 it felt so good I ended up with 600. LOVING this newfound upper body strength 💪🏻🎉

Howdy.
I slept this morning. I'm crabby at myself for it, but it is what it is.
I did a 30 minute house run with Jess King and a 5 minute core and 5 minute stretch after school. I'll do yoga tonight.
My food has been good today, but I'm feeling massively snacky right now. Gah.

Happy weekend! 45 minute PZ with Matt Wilpers. He was not messing around. It was intense. Then a 10 minute standing core with RK.

Morning.
15 minute climb ride with Olivia 30 minute interval run with Olivia 10 minute arms and shoulders with Callie 5 minute core with Olivia 5 minute stretch with Olivia
I got a PR on the ride. Been a while since I've seen one of those on the bike. Took the run very conservatively and scrubbed the extra 10 run in my stack. It's been a good while since I did a brick. It's been 8 years since I've done a triathlon, so they just aren't in my regular training rotation anymore. Guess they should be given how awful my conditioning for that was. Woof.
I skipped yoga last night because I was so damn exhausted. So I'll do it tonight regardless of how tired I am from staying up late reading then being up before 5am, because children.

Slept in today and it was glorious. Soccer wasn’t until late morning.
So this afternoon got squats/bench and then my 20 min super easy run. It’s still breezy, we lost power for a few hours last night but it’s so sunny 😎

Crossfit this morning. I really never got into it and spent the entire time thinking “I really don’t want to do this right now.“ Happy it’s over.
Took the dog on a 3 mile run when I got home. My legs felt like lead for the first two, so there was a lot of walking involved. I decided to try a yoga for runners peloton class with Mariana, and it was awesome. It felt so good to stretch those muscles. Hopefully I’m not too sore tomorrow, I’d like to get a long run in.
I’ve spent the last three hours decluttering my 11-year-old DD‘s room. I swear she’s kept every popsicle stick, squishy, toy, and bubblegum machine prize since she was six. We literally threw away two kitchen trash bags full. I was a little worried she wouldn’t want to get rid of anything, but she was all for it. I’ve been trying to get her to do this for years. I can finally walk into her room without feeling like I’m about to have a panic attack and she says she loves it. My legs feel like they are about to collapse.

Out in the countryside for the weekend and got a 10k in this morning. It was so beautiful to see all the flowers blooming and smell the fresh air.

Not sure when I was here last. Yesterday I got outside for a 30 min run. Then spend 4 hours lining ball fields including carrying 50lb bags of lime around.
Hoping I can get a ride in after the office today.

Hello! We got back from our spring break vacation Friday. Got some runs in (including one on the beach and one on the Pinellas trail) and ate fine. Since we got in early enough on Friday, I went out w/ the trail group Saturday morning (4 miles). We're hitting higher temps this week, so aside from an evening group trail run, I need to plan to be out running in the early.

Hi! I did my 10k yesterday and it was really great. I was a full 8 minutes slower than I was two years ago but I ran the whole time and I felt really good. I’m so glad I didn’t drop down to the 5k. My cousin and I ran together the whole time and had a ton of fun. I ran to the 75 min outdoor 90s run with Susie and it was perfect.
I’m pretty sore today but I got up and did a 45 minute walk with the dogs to get some light movement in. I’m going to do some yoga and foam rolling after work.

Missed workouts on Friday and Saturday because SO was here, but got my long run yesterday and back on schedule today. We had a good time but it was hard to let him go back to Florida. Good news is he should be moving up here soon. I can't tell if this pic is actually showing under the Spoiler because my work computer doesn't like the link.

Hello! We were in Disneyland from Monday-Thursday last week, so while I did not "work out" I did walk 8-13 miles each day. Did nothing on Friday, ran 9.5 miles on the Tread Saturday and a little over 15 yesterday outside.
I'm planning to do some foam rolling and yoga today, and the rest of my week is going to be relatively light in terms of mileage.
The Big Sur Marathon committee officially has changed the course due to the Hwy 1 slip out, it's now and out-and-back from Carmel instead of a point-to-point from Big Sur Station. I'm not mad about it, it's closer to where I am staying now, and I get almost 2 more hours of sleep.
Happy Patriots' Day to all who celebrate!
