I really liked The Wishing Game and I heard great things about Weyward. So I'm no help. I actually pre-ordered the paperback of both of these the last time Target had a sale. I’m so torn. Reviews for both are either really good or bad no in between I recall being underwhelmed by The Wishing Game, but not hating it. I'm sure that's of no assistance, but I'm glad it was a library check out vs. having spent a credit on it

The BOtM books are up I’m still trying to decide between the wishing game and weyward for the book of the year pick. I’m not sold on either but I’ve read the others I loved Weyward. It's a slow burn though. The writing is beautiful and it has a beautiful message.

This was a great BOTM for me. Annie Bot has been on my list because it seems like an episode of Black Mirror and I love that show. I also picked The Great Divide, which was also a book on my TBR for this month; historical fiction is my favorite genre and I haven’t read a book about the Panama Canal, so I’m really looking forward to it. I had a free credit to use too, so yay. Then I picked Weyward for my BOTY pick.

I finished Fifth Season a couple nights ago. It took me a bit to get into it because I don't love when fantasy books dive right in without giving some decent context/world building. But I kept with it because the reviews were so positive and my friend was the one who recommended it and I trust her knowing what I'd like. I am glad that I did because the world building got much better as it went on. I'm annoyed that it was a cliffhanger ending but I guess that means I'll have to put the next one on my Libby holds, ha. I gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed it quite a bit. I saw the "twist" (or maybe it wasn't supposed to be a twist?) coming pretty quickly but it didn't bother me. I'm almost 100 pages into this and I'm not a huge fan of the writing style, but I really want to stick it out because I've heard so many good things. Glad to hear it picks up!
