I know we have some people who enjoy memoirs in this group and I just finished "Tell Me Everything" by Minka Kelly and highly recommend it. Wow! She has been through so much and is so thoughtful about all of her experiences and trauma it was a sad but wonderful read. I've never seen Friday Night Lights but I've watched her in other shows and always thought she was gorgeous but otherwise did not think much about her but after hearing her memoir is good I wanted to give it a try.
Even though I normally don't love celebrity memoirs I devoured this. I think because she's actually lived a very eventful life and dealt with a lot of challenges but is now far enough away from those experiences that she can reflect on it all in a really sincere way, similar in some ways to Danny Trejo's memoir.
So yeah a great weekend read.

I just downloaded One Summer in Savannah on libby for the Together We Read national "book club". ETA I didn't read the full book description before posting. TW for SA. I downloaded it and then read the description. I'm not in the headspace for that, so returned it. Maybe another time.

Just popping in to ask a quick question... How can I read books on my desktop at work?
I know all the ways on my tablet or phone but not an actual computer😂 Work has been slow and boring lately and I can only listen to so many podcasts a day. ..I cant really be on my phone or actually bust out a book but I can stare at my computer🥱

Your digital library should be accessible.

I keep starting and stopping books. I did just start Hello, Stranger by Katherine Center. So far I'm enjoying it, so maybe I'll stick with it.

I started the B.A. Paris book the guest. I’m only 35 pages in and already wondering if I should keep going I wouldn't. I wish I hadn’t. I finished it and would like my week back

Someone added it to Goodreads 😂 I tried but my attention span couldn't handle it, even at 2x speed. I made it maybe 5 parts. I just saw and pretty much ran here to say it got added 🤣 I've made it to part 24. I'm so invested. 🤣

I do it all the time, lol.

I haven't read a book in 2 weeks. That ends today! I have had 3 libby holds come up from my public library so I need to start knocking through them. First up is the first Jack Reacher book, Killing Floor.

I finally finished the slog that was Where the Dead Wait by Ally Wilkes - it was not good. It's an arctic horror book, but I found the jump between timelines confusing at time (due to how they were written), the main character honestly wasn't very interesting, it dragged on and just wasn't great. Do not recommend.
Next up is That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon as a light hearted read before my next heavier read for my book club.

I finished True Love Experiment last night and enjoyed it quite a lot. I wasn’t sure at first if I’d get into the FMC because she kind of leaned manic pixie dream girl trope but I ended up liking her. I’m not sure what to start next

Finished I'm Glad my Mom Died, gave it 4 stars. I went in not knowing anything about this actress, as evidenced by the fact that I thought she was someone else. Troubling story, but surprisingly fast read.
Now I'm half way into The Silent Patient and not sure what to think.

I started the TT Who TF Did I Marry yesterday and I’m already on part 30.
I am so happy for anything this woman gets out of this. Even the views from these TTs alone.

I wish I hadn’t. I finished it and would like my week back I had an ARC or I would have DNF. I don't know why I always think I want to read her books because I've never really liked any of them.

Yeah I may be done after I read one other one I own that I can’t remember the title of. I think I’ve liked maybe one book of hers

I just discovered Shari Lapena for good and easy mystery/suspense/thriller reads and I've read 4 of hers over the last few weeks. I needed a switch from Frieda. Just finished Check & Mate too, the new Ali Hazelwood and it was a solid read, though I don't love late teen/early 20s romance so much anymore as a general choice, but I usually enjoy Hazelwood. I DNF Apples Never Fall for the 3rd time, but I still have a few days left on Libby to maybe listen on 1.75x or something. I like Shari Lapenna!

I've been tempted to look up the show just to see what the hell the butter sock was that she kept referencing. Haven't been willing to put that in my Google search yet though.

I haven’t posted in a little bit. My most recent read was Heartstopper Volume 5. I can’t believe there is only going to be one more book! Looking forward to seeing how it ends. Also not so patiently waiting for the third season of the show to come out.
I’m currently listening to Second Chances in New Port Stephen by TJ Alexander and reading Whiteout (multiple authors) on my kindle.

I finally finished Kissing Kosher (had been chipping away with it waiting for DD at dismissal). It was very sweet and I liked it, but it could have used some editing. I liked that it spoke frankly and empathetically about chronic pain. 3.75 stars.
I started and finished What Never Happened over the weekend. A solid thriller. Set on Catalina Island, and the island is a character. 4 stars.

I finished Everyone In This Room Will Someday Be Dead. It was ok. I’d rate it about 3.5⭐️. It had deadpan humor that I enjoy.
I DNF’d Butcher and Blackbird before even getting to the 3rd chapter 😂 I tried….but no.
I am starting Saving Noah tonight. I heard it’s a lot, but I wanted to give it a try. This will be my first Lucinda Berry book.

My hold on Interesting Facts About Space just came in. I wonder if I should just start reading that instead of moving on to a different author. Anyone know if it’s worth the read?

Read First Lie Wins yesterday, thought it was great. I think someone else said it up-thread, but Thriller-light is a perfect description!
I need more of these, most thrillers today are just too much for me, not enjoyable.
