Thank you. This means the world to me. Thanks everyone for reading my story and making me feel safe and sane. I got a good workout in and I’m hunkered down with my little family and going to relax and laugh. Love you, friend Also, I am going to be on your coast again soon! Say more. In DMs. This is like a bonus Christmas present.

We have the opportunity to send DS to Disney with Hs aunt and cousin in August. We would just have to pay his tickets and food (wich is still $$$$ because they are doing Disney and Universal and will be gone 10 days).
I think it would be so great for DS but H and I are feeling bummed we can't afford to go as a family trip and we're taking a few days to decide how we feel about the whole thing.

Or, frankly, I'd bite the expense and go with because Hs aunt is a Disney pro and I'd love to just have someone else plan it! H is still balking at the expense plus when he was a kid his very poor family managed to get to Disney and he was sick the whole time so he has unresolved Disney trauma. I actually might suggest H and DS go without me (we have the dogs to worry about too plus DS and I did a trip without H last year) but I'm giving H some time to mull it over.

I always feel this as we will never do that stuff either. As someone who went with her friend and her family to Universal and Orlando and did a week with them I think he would love it. While I loved my family vacations there was something so cool too about going and having my own trip even though I was in 5th grade. It never overshadowed the things I did do with my parents either. I remember all that fondly too.

H is off to work today and I was hoping to take DS on an outdoor adventure but it's rainy and 40 which is basically the worst weather, so he has a friend coming over a little later.
H got me a countertop hydroponic herb garden so I might set that up today.

We are up hanging out in bed. H is working and we have nowhere to go so it’s going to be a reading and game playing day I think.
I’m going to do a redo enchiladas and rice dinner ( my mom and aunt made it for Christmas and they just were not good and I was so sad) so I’m pumped

I’m meeting a former coworker for lunch today. We got to be pretty close when we worked together and I can’t wait to catch up.

We’ve had a good Christmas plus another day of opening gifts. We’re able to get 4 out of 6 kids at the kids’ table and grown ups can actually have some conversations at dinner so that’s nice. The kids all got scooters and were happy with them so that’s fun.

I remember all that fondly too. This was the case for me too. My mom was a single parent and couldn't afford to do any big trips with me. But when I was 9 my friend's brother got chicken pox and I was able to go to Disneyland and California in his place. It was my first time in an airplane as well. It was a great experience for me even though I didn't like my friend's dad (the mom stayed home with the sick brother) and I'm really glad I got to experience it. But it also didn't overshadow any of the things I did with my mom and looking back it was a fun experience but not life altering or anything like that.

It’s the last day of just me and DS. SD drives home today and should be in by dinner time. DS is mostly excited to see her open her presents since we wouldn’t let him peek in her stocking or Santa bag.
It’s supposed to rain most of the day here too, so hopefully we can stay entertained well enough.

DD1 and I tested positive for COVID on Christmas evening. Since we are the only two positive so far (out of 6) we are isolating in my room. I am introducing her to Desperate Housewives, we are eating way too much stocking candy, and reading some of our new books we got for Christmas.

I’m putting the house back together today. I sent the older two kids to work with my father. Ds3 is still a little sick but he’s opening every car he got for Christmas and making a parking lot.
Meal planning, laundry, vacuuming

I pick up my kids today but we already did early Christmas last week. Hopefully they'll dive right back into playing with their gifts when they get here.

They are doing 4 Disney days plus a meal plan and then 2 Universal days. I guess there's a rest day in there somewhere plus they are driving (from PA!) So no airfare expense but tacks on time He'd also miss the first two days of school but I don't care about that really. Although DS might.

DS's friend is here and they have just been playing video games. Normally I'd make them do other stuff but they're being quiet and it's raining so I don't think I care. I just made them ramen for lunch.
