H went to Costco for a new battery for his truck. Of course, both kids wanted to go so I am watching the Eagles game and trying to meal plan. Sounds like a dream.

We went out for breakfast and we're going to see Wonka in a few hours, then snacks at home. It'll be just the three of us and I think DS is kinda over spending time with mom and dad haha. I took the kids to Wonka yesterday. It’s a great movie, we all loved it. I wasn’t so sure for the first ten minutes or so but it quickly got very good.

The original is one of our faves so we had high hopes. I thought Tom Holland was pretty good, though it needs just a little more eccentricity. But I really enjoyed it. Eta I don't mean Tom Holland 🤣🤣

We saw Wonka this week and loved it. We watched both the original and Johnny Depp version today and that one in retrospect is abhorrent in comparison to the others.

I agree. He was close but a couple times felt flat. I mean no one will ever beat Gene Wilder who was born to play that role.

I’ve only seen the Johnny depp one once and I feel like I need to rewatch it just to remind myself why it was so awful. DS was just in the play of Willy Wonka so it’s been talked about a lot recently. Lol

Lol yes I don't know who any of them are 🤣 Timothée was a great young Wonka The Depp remake would have been fine without the other two, but in reflection it cherry picks the good parts and just doesn’t match.

loony how exciting! Best of luck with the new restaurant! What kind of food? The chef is Mexican, so there are a lot of Latin influences. The menu isn’t completely set yet, but everything she’s had us taste test is amazing. Breakfast has horchata French toast, breakfast tacos and sourdough pancakes. There will definitely be an al pastor trompo and hand milled fresh tortillas along with other American style sandwiches and entrees for lunch and dinner. PM details to me for our next visit, and to send my parents when they head your way!
