RunsforWineandCarbs please report back on which recipes you make from the new LET book. So far I have made the enchilada soup (LOVE it, one of my fave recipes so far, but I’m a big soup fan), and the Korean beef to make bibimbap bowls (also delicious, huge hit with the family). Tonight I am making the creamy Cajun chicken, mostly because it seemed simple. 😂 I have the edamame chicken salad lined up to make for lunches (after today).
Then I was going to make the chopped brown rice salad and toss in some chicken.
I plan on trying the bigger dishes on Sunday's as I don't have time to make all that during the week, lol.
The chicken philly looks delish and several others that I can't wait to try!

Well November was pretty well a bust thanks to that long ass sinus infection. But I did the 10k on Saturday!
Mini-race report: It was overcast and like 60, so I wore shorts, a tank, and gel kayanos. I had a couple of gf waffles w/ pb and a glass of water and a cup of coffee. I live close to the start (1.4 miles) so I jogged/ran to the start (ran for the last .25 b/c I didn't leave early enough to really take my time, oops). I finished in just under an hour, ended up getting 3rd female in my age group! Of course I left before the award ceremony dang it. It was my slowest 10k road race so far but whatevs. The good parts: I felt strong during most of it, saw a house w/ a bigfoot cutout wearing a santa hat and (at a different house) a full size Mike Myers (statue? mannequin?) also wearing a santa hat lol. Not a lot of other decorations, but most of the route was on a sort of main road (mostly businesses on it). For a while I drafted behind a girl that I think it was her first race, at least at that distance. She was running w/ her friend or coach who was really trying to keep her spirits up. She ended up wanting to quit around mile 3, but I'm glad to say she did finish! Saw another lady have to get basically carried by a couple of guys after finishing. I think she was overdressed (it was like 60 and she had on full length leggings and a long sleeve thicker shirt). It was the last year for this particular race, so I think I was paying more attention than I normally would to the other runners around me.
Sunday I did nothing except putter around the house. Today my plan is to hit the gym at lunch and then run a few miles after dark (b/c holiday lights!).

Well I over did it yesterday. Decided to jog, ended it at 9.5 miles. I need to walk it off today and roll out the stiff muscles.

Morning.
30 minute EDM run with Olivia Extra 10 run with Marcel 5 minute stretch with Camila
I crashed last night and skipped yoga. Apparently driving four hours in shit weather on four hours of sleep made me tired. Who knew. I'll try to get it in tonight.
I forgot to make a protein shake or grab a bard this morning, so I had a vending machine pop tart for breakfast. Solid. A+ work, me.

Morning. I called in "sick" on Friday and got to do two 20 minute Tread classes with Matty for a little over 4 miles. Saturday I did nothing but a holiday stretch with Ross. Sunday I ran an 8 mile loop around an unfamiliar neighborhood while I waited for DS1 to finish some volunteer hours.
This month I need to do more strength and yoga, but it's so hard to fit it in when I'm trying to hit a certain weekly mileage and working full time. I am hoping December will be a bit easier as I can phone it in a bit more at work, and I've got the last week off.

Yesterday was a 30 min country run with Wilpers and arms with Rad. Hoping for more of the same after work tonight.
No real goals for Dec besides being more consistent (as always). I’d like to try a half in the spring. Any suggestions? I’m willing to travel basically anywhere in North America.

CF this morning. I maxed out at 145# on my squat cleans, which I'm happy with. It's been awhile since I've seen that weight. Metcon was 7 x :30 on/1:30 off rowing sprints. Not too bad and so much better than the assault bike sprints from 2 weeks ago that knocked my legs out for 5 days afterward. From Monday - Saturday I hit my 20 mile running goal for the week! Both Friday and Saturday were only 3 miles because my legs felt dead and I had to force myself to finish. I was definitely thinking I had been a little too optimistic on my 20 mile goal - lol. But then on Sunday I ran 5.5 and felt like I could have easily done another 3, so who knows? I was going to try to get a couple of miles in this afternoon since the metcon was so quick and easy, but I think my legs might be better served to have a break from running since I've run 16 miles in the last 4 days, which is approximately 9 miles more than I typically get in an entire week.

I am here and alternating between rest days, walking, and low impact rides. Trying to wait out this cough / cold thing that swept through our house. I feel pretty good, but don’t want to overdo it. My watch tried to lower my goals because of this but I said no. lol

Woof. Monday morning. I did forget to move the elf last night but since I was up at 6 am - I remembered and moved him.
Stack today:
10 min core with Selena 30 min putv w 4 d1 full body with RK 20 min HIIT ride with Hannah F 5 min post ride stretch with Tunde
I finished all the 10 min core classes with Selena on the platform. She added one last week so I did that today. I’m going to do Becs and then Jess Sims next.
That PUTV was rough. I just wasn’t into it and it was complex and I didn’t want to get hurt. Oh well, I tried. lol.

November was great, especially considering the travel we did and the scheduling fun of Thanksgiving break. I got a good amount of strength in, and plenty of walking in addition to some runs (and yoga and pilates) We didn't run this weekend, but went on a long walk each day and did tons around the house (Christmas decor, yard work, etc). I also did the Legally Blonde Soundtrack Strength on Friday. Today, I got up and did 30 minutes of yoga live, and a quick hike out to the ocean and back between school dropoff and my volunteer shift. DS and I will take the dog for a short walk this afternoon. I'm working on planning on my runs and strength for the week - I need to work around 2 extra school activities in the morning during my normal workout time, but I know I can make it happen.
For December, I'm trying to stay focused on eating fruits and vegetables and solid protein in addition to all the cookies.

Just trying to keep it together for December and not eat like like trash. Would like to do weights 3x a week and 10 miles of running a week (I am slow!).
Today I did: Weights at the y, 5 min core, 20 min todo ritmo run that I took it easy on.
Food is pretty good so far but I’m not sure what cook for dinner.

Hey! I haven’t been in this thread in awhile but thought I’d join in again. I finally seemed to have found a groove with getting runs in around my work schedule and the kids extracurriculars. I got in 72 miles during November which I’m really happy with.
I’ve also finally admitted to myself that I won’t run on the treadmill. I just won’t. Every year I try to tell myself I’ll keep up over the winter on the treadmill and every year I give up until spring. So this year I invested in some good quality cold weather running gear and it has made a huge difference already.
My goal for December is 80 miles. I don’t want to up it too much from last month just because I know the weather will only continue to get worse and there will probably be days that I just can’t run outside. I didn’t get any runs in the first 3 days of the month though because we were out of town for the girls’ first cheer competition of the season. I got in 3 miles in the snow today. I was planning on 4 but I forgot to charge my watch and it died around mile 2.5 and I couldn’t make myself go to 4 with no music 😅
Now that I’m in a groove with running I would also like to add in some strength training. My weeks are really full and because I’m a slower runner I’m usually outside for 45 minutes so I won’t have a ton of extra time. I’m thinking a good goal is twice a week for strength. It’s more than I’m doing now and I think it’s actually realistic.
I’m going to go catch up on the thread now. Hope you all are doing great!

I was able to fit in 2 miles with brodie last night. We had a big rest as well because one of the neighbors put out a beer table for the runners! we hung out and chatted for a bit. brodie at ice and loved it!
My back has been killing me since the weekend hike so I got up and did 5 mins lower body stretch with matty. I plan on doing at least a 15 min yoga and another walk after work.
Food: B: cottage cheese with blueberries and grapefruit S: protein shake L: ZC tater tot casserole / green beans S: hard boiled egg D: Left over air fryer chicken or tacos

Yesterday I followed through- I hit the gym for a short lower body workout during my lunch break and I ran last night after my kid's karate class. I was going to keep it 2 miles but ended up going down a few little side roads to look at lights and ended up with 3. I kept it easy and walked up the hills. Food-wise I'm working hard to stay on the aip-like diet- breakfast was gf waffles w/ pb and allergy-free chocolate chips, pre-workout I had a couple of coq au vin meatballs over mashed potatoes, post-workout I had cheeseburger mac (w ground turkey, gf pasta, and dairy-free cheese), and dinner was leftover turkey and sweet potato casserole (made w/ coconut sugar and just pecans, I'm not into marshmallows). I did have a little debbie Christmas tree cake after my run though. Just a few of those left at this point.
Today I plan to 'just' walk a bit during lunch to get some steps in. Breakfast is the usual oatmeal, lunch is leftover cheeseburger mac, dinner will be turkey chili. I cooked that yesterday so the flavors should be really good tonight. For work snacks I have some chocolate protein powder (plant-based) and oat milk, plus an apple and an Asian pear.

This morning I put on the one pair of jeans that fit me well and I did not need to squat or wiggle them on.
The scale may not be moving, but at least I know I’m trimming up in other ways.

Hello!
I haven’t been here much because my working out has been inconsistent, but I’m making it a goal to consistently do strength training in December. I’ve restarted Caroline Girvan’s iron program, although sped up. I did days 1 and 2 this weekend and this morning I woke up and did day 3. So sore lol.

20 minute 80’s ride with Hannah F, plus a 5 minute down cooldown ride, 5 minute stretch, and 5 minute core for me. My hips are so tight and my IT band is screaming at me so I also just spent some time independently in pigeon pose.

Hello! This post is from 12/4 - posted in the wrong thread. Thanks RunsforWineandCarbs for letting me know. Yeah I'm doing RK's split AGAIN lol. It's just really working for me right now! I am getting stronger and lifting heavier and I can see a difference, and I'm honestly not that bored with it. H is doing it again this week too. I did 4 weeks leading into Thanksgiving and I think I'm basically going to do the same thing for Christmas. Christmas week I'll just do holiday workouts, yoga, whatever. B - green onion and cheddar waffle + turkey bacon L - leftover spaghetti and meatballs from last night D - Emily Bites BBQ chicken stuffed sweet potato S - frozen banana w/ PB and chocolate chips I'm really just trying to maintain this month (hopefully lose the extra couple lbs from Thanksgiving week first lol) and not make the whole month a shitshow.

But it helps that I have 10 days off of work this month for winter break so I can go at the warmest part of the day. We’re in the 20s for temps now and I haven’t even busted out my coat yet. I’ve been good with a base layer and a mid layer. So 🤞 It’ll be that Midwest wind that kills me though.
