Plyos/chin ups and standing press today. Nothing earth shattering but DS came with me so that was fun. We are fully in Christmas Break mode and I’m going to be so sad when it’s over.

Yesterday was 30 min legs with Callie, today was 45 min progression run with Becs, which I did as an easy run. It was a slog, turns out the 3 beers and half a pizza I had last night with the bf are not optimal fuel 🤣

Equipped bench last night (triples at like 5lb under my meet PR), then some volume squats and more benching today.
Food is...food. I'm waiving a white flag for 2023 (I shouldn't have ordered the pretzels and also I am so glad I did because they are great).

Slothed around with friends yesterday.
45 min PZE ride today. Felt so good to be sweaty lol
Giving myself today and tomorrow with bedtime snacks and some alcohol NYE and then reigning it back in. The nighttime snacking has crept up again.

So, at the Saturday race I ran (pun intended) into people from the training group I did back last winter and spring and one of them said a few are going to do the half that I did last Feb (where I got my sub-2). Since then my conversations with myself about it have been: I was looking at hotels yesterday. I can still do frugal February if I pay it all upfront, right? Quoting myself bc Now I’m kicking around the idea of trying for a much faster time than last year. And I signed up for the training group again. No run today, but mh & I hit the gym. Planning to run relatively early tomorrow. I’ve got to get food under control (already started my plan for that). My skin freaked way the fuck out from all the sugar I had in the last week. I’ve cut a bunch out and I’m clearing up but like damn Gina.

Ugh add me to the awful skin club. My eating has actually gotten better over the last month (trying to not waste things I bought like spinach!) but running on my treadmill I’m getting SO sweaty. It’s better now I started using some different things but yeesh.

+1 bad skin, man if someone had told me when I was a teenager that I’d still be having breakouts in my 40s I might have given up on life right then and there. I just rode the bike for an hour and 45 minutes while I watched She’s the Man on Netflix. What a great movie, honestly. An absolute joy. 200 minutes to go for 15k, time “adjustments” be damned. And you are right, cnf, there’s already a warning thread on Reddit in advance this year, haha.

I’ll have about a 140 minute buffer unless I decide to get crazy tomorrow and do wilpers 120 ride. Which I might actually do because DS and H are going to a last minute basketball game.
I wonder if when it recalculates it will fix the lost meditations from early in the year.

My eating has been pretty off the charts too. It’s making my sleep horrible. I’ve got to get back to a no sugar or caffeine after a certain time just for the sleep benefits.

Happy last day of 2023 people! I haven't rounded up my numbers but I am at the most miles this month for the year. But just short of hitting my goal. womp womp.
I was tricked into a walk+run for hosking's 30 min new years eve walk. It said walk but it wasn't. I was ok with it and ran well.
Today I am making ZC Chicken Broccoli Dorito casserole for lunch (and to have left overs) and dinner will be st air fryer shimp with black eye pea salad

I’ve been off workouts for two weeks—I sprained my ankle walking the dog. I just got blood work back, and my cholesterol is up! Jesus H. I have recommitted to eating well as a matter of health, not weight. Hope to jump back on the bike NYE. Do you like (or can you have) oatmeal? It’s one of the foods linked with reducing cholesterol levels bc of the type of fibre it contains. Yes! I feel like I have to get back on the whole grain train.

I’m not sure why they haven’t fixed it.

My final day of 2023 was spent squeezing into my competition suits to make sure I can.
15 min to get in my squat suit, around 8 into my deadlift suit. Way faster than I expected. So a win to end the year!

I did a 30 min walk/run with Olivia that was basically a HIIT bc she is a tiny feral robot. I only said “ugh fuck OFF Olivia” once so I’ll take it as a win. I usually avoid her classes bc her callouts are just way too much for me but it was the music countdown #10-1 and wanted to hear the songs.
Then 30 min arms/shoulders with Rad, he’s always good and consistent.

Just did Ross’s NYE yoga and a 10 min stretch with Joslyn to round out my 30 min.
Ross was very Ross, and I highly recommend for a quick, fun class.

Hello! Happy New Year’s Eve y’all. I haven’t checked in because I’ve been using this Christmas break to nap a lot, clean out old toys to make room for the new, and to power through reading Fourth Wing in 2 days 🫣
I’ve just been running every other day, 2-3 miles. Hip is still feeling meh. I’m trying to decide on some goals for next month. But I think I’ll probably try to add in some of Hannah’s lower body barre workouts to see if that helps the hip.

Yesterday was lazy (purposely- it was our family Christmas so we opened gifts and lazed around).
Today I went to OTF and it was a killer. All classes were 3G, which I wasn’t expecting. I’m glad I started on the tower to get it out of the way. All 3 stations were difficult.
The row was to row 30 second all outs with squat to press in between, with the end goal being a total of 2024 meters. I was the first in my group to reach the goal (I think, she made a comment) so I felt really good about that.
The floor was repetitive circuits so my muscles were dead by the end.
And the tread was a declining hill. 10% all out, 9% walk, 9% all out, 8% walk, etc. It was tough, but I steadily increased my pace for the all outs by 0.1 each time we went down in incline.
I will be starting out 2024 with a class at 8:30 tomorrow with my fave coach, so I’m excited about that!

Today’s stack:

Then I took a break because we had an appointment. I thought about doing the 120 ride but didn’t quite have enough time or energy. I also got fomo on the Jess King NYE experience ride so I did that instead. It was tough on non fresh legs. Also got the dog out on a nice long walk since he’s been short changed the last two days due to rain. Also hoping he falls asleep early in case idiots shoot off fireworks.
H did the whole split program with me, so that was fun. Not sure if he’ll sign up to do that next week. lol.

Just did Ross’s NYE yoga and a 10 min stretch with Joslyn to round out my 30 min. Ross was very Ross, and I highly recommend for a quick, fun class. I did that Ross class yesterday and he was the epitome of Ross incarnate, lol.

Happy New Year's Eve!
I took a rest day. I intended to ride, but I only got 5 hours of sleep and we had to leave early for the Bills game. Plus my legs were so dead yesterday on my run. I figured I'd go into the new year on fresh legs instead. I did a 20 minute yoga tonight because my legs were still heavy from walking a bunch today, being in the car for a few hours, and standing on concrete bleachers. Just tired.
I'm excited to kick off tomorrow with a workout!

Then this evening I did the XOXO Cody Christmas ride, and the new JKE New Year’s Eve ride to hit EXACTLY 15k! I took a photo to prove it in case it goes away in the new year. I’m proud of my “sprint to the finish.”
I mean, who even cares about Peloton badges anyway? (LOL)
