20 min Boxing day run with Becs for just under 2 miles, then 20 min arms and core. I’m all in on doing a half marathon in 2024. Just need to find one that works with my schedule. Come do Loop The Lake with me! It's in October. That looks pretty!

My cousin and I decided on Christmas that we are doing a half in 2024. We are tentatively planning on the Monterey Bay Half in November. Just in case that sparks interest. Both of us were independently thinking of it and my cousin came with a whole race schedule for us and rattled it off on Christmas. Omg this course looks beautiful! I’m thinking of doing the Calgary half in May.

Come do Loop The Lake with me! It's in October. That looks pretty! It used to be Empire State Marathon and I had done the half and the full both twice. They just finished the lake trail so it circles the entire lake, so they renamed it and changed the course maps. It really is a lovely run. The full used to cover about 75% of the trail around the lake. This is race I deferred this past fall, so I'll be there already if you decide you want to join me ☺️

5k run to yesterday's countdown walk + some change because I was not going fast, then 20 minute full body strength. Getting out for a walk with the kids shortly, before I bother with a shower. I think I absolutely cut down my cookie intake by half yesterday!

Hi all, I haven’t done anything at all since a 12 mile run last Saturday. Initially I was only going to give myself Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, but we traveled to see H’s family and now the older kids are staying with us for a couple of days, so it’s been a lot of walks around town and spending family time. I haven’t had this many days of no hard workouts in well over a year, so I’m kind of leaning into it. I’ll get back into the swing of things this weekend.
Starting to get excited for the Disneyland Half!

The lost week is in full effect. I love it so much. Anyway got to the gym around noon today because why not? PR’d deadlifts and was steady on bench.

3.5km run home- I have to somehow get in 15km before the end of the month to hit my goal and I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen. We shall see.

Somehow ended up in a 30 min HIIT and Hills run with Wilpers. It was ok but wow I hate hills. 9% incline with a minimum 6mph? GTFOH. Anyways. Finished with a 10 min hip focus yoga with Dennis.

Soreness is subsiding so I was able to push a bit more today.
10 min core with Matty 30 min legs and biceps with RK (split day 3) 30 min music countdown 40-31 ride with Ally 5 min post ride stretch with Ally
That playlist was mostly older songs and quite a few bops so I might do the outdoor class of it too.

Dragged myself out of bed to do a 15 minute low impact ride and 5 minute cooldown with Emma. That’ll be it for 2023 on the bike. Ending with 225 miles, and I’m happy about that. I’ll do some strengths over the weekend too. Thinking about my goals for January and the new year now.

Packing to head out of town, so just some walks and frantic trips to and from the car. Hopefully our friends we're staying with tonight will want to walk/run in the morning, but this week is going to be mostly walking + snow activities + yoga/pilates.

Morning.
45 minute interval run with Wilpers 5 minute stretch with Camila
Holy hell I wiped myself out on that. It was six 5 minute intervals with only one minute recovery. I let myself take the recoveries much slower than I normally do and did the first five intervals at my half marathon PR pace (8:49) and did the final interval progressive, ending on my 5k PR pace (7:53). I was done at the end. Woof.
I still haven't done any yoga. We'll see if I can get anything in before this break is over.
My in laws are coming tomorrow and staying through Monday morning, so H and I spent a lot of the morning cleaning and there's still more to do. Ugh. I wish the other four people in my house hated mess and clutter as much as I do so it wouldn't get so behind like this. I can't keep up with all these damn humans in my house. Messy creatures.

Being in the car all day yesterday and sleeping in my own bed last night must have really done wonders for me, because I had a great OTF class today. It was a switch template with power on the treads, so lots of base pace and walking recoveries which I’m sure helped. I was able to get up to 10.5 mph for my all out, but I could have done more for the short 15 second ones. I just didn’t want to take a chance because my shoes have holes in them and need to be replaced. I know H got me new On Clouds for Christmas, and we are doing our own family Christmas tomorrow, so I am excited about that!

Rest day from the split program. Active recovery stack:
30 min slow flow with Chelsea 30 min walk + run music countdown 30-21 with Joslyn
Hit my 18k minutes on peloton today! 3k increase from last year.

Top 50 countdown ride with Ally (41-40) and yoga flow with Chelsea (39-30).
I am 550 minutes away from 15k in the annual challenge, and kicking myself for not realizing this sooner in the week and doing more the last few days so I could hit that milestone. I don’t think I have it in me to do 3+ hours of something tomorrow and Sunday, even if it’s just tacking on lots of stretching.
I was over 20k last year, but I know the reason I’ve done a lot less this year is because I’ve been doing longer runs outdoors and it’s such a pain in the ass to string together multiple runs using the app because I have to pull my phone out to start each one.

I totally get that. I haven’t run since mid August, because of my foot, but before then I was running a solid amount, almost always outdoors, and I rarely used Peloton for them. I also do a lot of specific stretching and physical therapy exercises not through peloton. I’m only around 11k for the year, but I feel good about that. I know that’s not the sole measure of my exercise time,

They need a running instructor to champion some longer runs. But it would probably also be Wilpers. lol. The only way I hit 18k is because I did everything on Peloton this year. I’m not aiming to increase that next year. Actually I will set my goal as 15k again as I’m planning to do some off Peloton stuff - some in person yoga and some classes at a newly opened barre/pilates studio.

Usually when I run outside I run the Just Run option through peloton on the background on my phone so I get the minutes. Peloton will go through and adjust everyone's minutes after the new Year anyways, so even if you crushed yourself to get there you might lose your badge after the fact. It's because even though on peloton it shows in your workout history that every workout is exactly 30 or 20 or 45 or whatever length, they aren't always exactly that. They go through afterwards and recalculate to the exact class lengths, so everyone loses some minutes. If you link to Strava you can see the actual class lengths. You might take a 30 minute class that gives you 30 minutes on peloton, but if you pop over to Strava and look at the workout it'll show as like 29:49 or whatever. Then peloton will remove those 11 seconds from your total and they add up pretty quickly if you take like a billion classes. Just head over to reddit after New years and you can see the epic bitching.

HI I am here. Food has been crap, i've been sleeping in and getting in my walks and runs. Did over 6 yesterday on a different trail that was gorgeous. and another 5k today.
I am starting to meal plan for the week and am trying to get back on track. I still don't have work until Wednesday so I am now getting antsy, lol.

Morning.
30 minute two for one hip hop run with Jess and Adrian Extra 10 run with Marcel M 10 minute stretch with Robin
That run was so delightful. And the extra 10 I've done before, so I was able to chase myself. I also love doing the German runs because the leaderboard is always really small and I'm fast enough to land pretty high up, so it's a nice ego boost, lol.
I NEED to do yoga tonight. A week without and I am feeling it. My legs were like lead today. I'm old and creaky and apparently require the extra stretching and flushing of lactic acid.
We went out to breakfast and now I'm very full of French toast and hash browns. Nomnomnom.

I’ve been off workouts for two weeks—I sprained my ankle walking the dog. I just got blood work back, and my cholesterol is up! Jesus H. I have recommitted to eating well as a matter of health, not weight. Hope to jump back on the bike NYE.

Morning. Today was Hannah F’s countdown ride, 20-11, and 30 minute glutes and legs with Adrian. I am 300 minutes away from 15k, which feels achievable until you work out that that’s 5 hours of workout time. And damn, cnf, I didn’t know that about adjusting time down. What do they do about classes that actually run over? Like classes where the instructor is still counting down after the official clock runs out? I bet reddit is hilarious about this, I will look out for it this year.

It’s one of the foods linked with reducing cholesterol levels bc of the type of fibre it contains.

I assume it's automatic somehow, but yeah, people freak out every year and it's completely dumb. They don't record any data outside of the exact 30 minute or whatever time clock, so they just need to give everyone their damn 30 minutes and call it a day.

I never saw a peloton workout on my Strava that was over the allotted time though, so 🤷🏻♀️
