Despite being tired and bloated I also did robin’s holiday ride today, and a 10 min full body stretch. One more day of leftovers and then getting the food back in check.

I am slightly glad the holiday is over. On Christmas Eve the kids ran a 5k with me, A actually ran it and looks great in her race pics (lucky girl). C jogged some of it with me unitl he just wanted to walk. All in all it was fun. Christmas was a whirlwind, no working out for me.
Today I actually completed a run with Marcel; it was great. Felt good. Need to get my eating on track and plan on starting strength again. Time to get back at it.
Hope you all had a great holiday!

Finally through the colds and stomach bug in time for holidays, so I took DD out on a (slow) run on Saturday. We did about 2 miles, and I think it's good for her to stay in shape for soccer while they're not practicing much. We did walks on Christmas Eve and Day with the family, and today I did the Holiday Soundtrack Strength, and a 30 minute countdown run. Felt good to get back to it. My goal is to do the same on Thursday, and yoga/pilates on the other days since we're traveling next week and I'll be lucky to find time for yoga or bodyweight stuff.

Almost a 4km run home. I got a running backpack for Christmas and tried it out for the first time - a bit of getting used to but I’m thrilled to have a solution for the commute and my work/workout clothes.

30 minute intervals and arms with Tunde for me. Plus cleaning. I’m trying to use some of the time I have on break to do some major purging of DD’s stuff so we can out up a shelf in her room and reorganize.

Trying to decide if I should just ride out the week and start fresh next week or push myself. It will depend on how I’m feeling tomorrow I guess as today I was exhausted after celebrating for 3 days in a row

I’ve been struggling with a reactive airway type cough for like a month so I haven’t done much for running this month. Finally feeling better so did 30 min Wilpers pop run today. Our weather is unusually warm this year so I might be able to get outside for a run this week. I love Christmas but I’m already ready to take it all down and clean all the things.

It took me all day to get to the gym. We did do a woods walk today too so I wasn’t a total couch potato.
Anyway squats were good eventhough I’m sore from running yesterday. I finally hit 100#!! It was a hard workout and I didn’t eat enough nutritious food today (cinnamon rolls, cake etc) but got some food in me and I feel better.

Also took me all day to get a workout in, but I’m so glad I did. Took yesterday off. I actually didn’t plan to but DS slept until 8:15 so by the time we finished presents and breakfast I had to kick it into high gear to get dinner started and the house guest ready. I’m sure I got a lot of steps while cooking.
Fun thing - since H and I are both off work, we worked out together. It was so fun to have a buddy since I’m using in the workout area by myself in the wee hours.
10 min core with RK (this was a tough class) 30 min chest and triceps with RK (split day 1 - week 3) 30 day music countdown walk + run with RK
H was doing the music countdown ride with Kendal at the same time I was on the tread. So we did different classes to the same playlist (obviously with headphones on).

Morning.
I'm, ugh, gross, stupid. I tested positive for strep yesterday even though I had been in pain for three days before I finally went. I felt like complete trash yesterday and only did a 10 minute stretch to get my blue dot. Otherwise I completely succumbed to a rest day mostly spent on the couch and napping. I opted out of a workout and coffee, so obviously I wasn't feeling well. I still can't stomach coffee this morning, but I do feel a lot better now that I'm 24 hours in on antibiotics.
I opted to run this morning and told myself I'd keep it easy, and I did take the recoveries slower than usual, but I still pushed on the intervals and my body felt good. Still blowing snot and coughing, but I totally could have ran a lot longer. Tomorrow I will. But yeah, 30 minute interval run with Susie and a 5 minute stretch. I'll do some yoga tonight.
I need to try and get fluids down. I have a hard time with water when I'm sick too, and even today it's not really going down. Ugh. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be ok.

It sounds weird, but I drink watered down apple juice when I'm sick. I sucked my fair share down yesterday and will likely do the same today. So I'm getting fluids, but normally all I drink is black coffee and water, so I'm feeling bleh from the change of intake. I plan to spend a lot of today lumping around on the couch again too.

Now that that mess of eating is over, back to "normal" eating. NYE isn't a big thing for me (and I'll be lifting Jan 1 anyway) so that should be manageable. Weighed yesterday to just to see what the start point is. Down a kilo today, so a whole bunch was water. I'm only about 5 lbs over my weight class and have 2 months, so shouldn't be a big ordeal to get back where I need to be. Didn't want to deal with the snow and whatnot last night, so stayed home even though I don't have a couple things I needed. Ended up working out well though- H got home as my squats were getting heavy and picked up a couple things I wasn't doing right on my set up that were killing me when I went to lift. Then benching went really well- my meet PR on raw bench is 102.5kg (226 lbs). Last night's workout was not at competition standards, and my hands were in a different position, but I got an easy double at 225. Then about died getting 1 at 235.

30 minute holiday yoga, still working through the holiday classes I didn't take in December. Took the kids on a 30ish minute walk, will likely do the same later today, too. Food wise, we have lots of leftovers, so we're just eating through those until we leave town on Friday - trying to figure out what veggies I can add to round out our meals. I'm trying to focus on protein, fat, and fiber with my meals (and produce!), in the hopes that I will not eat a cookie every time I pass the table full of them (working on getting it down to every other time).

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
I'm really glad that this week is kind of a recovery week for me. I don't feel like doing much honestly lol. Probably because I am feeling sluggish from all the heavy food I've been eating, oh and the drinking. I took off Christmas Eve and Day. Yesterday I did two of Ben's 10 min holiday arms workouts and then a 20 min Pilates. I think I'll do some more Pilates this afternoon and then go for a long walk, if it ever stops raining. Or maybe I'll go regardless with an umbrella. I love walking in the evenings during this week and looking at all the lights, and the weather's been shitty the last few days! I'm afraid people will start taking stuff down before I get out there (not me though, I leave shit up til January 6).
Food has been all over the place and that's fine. I'll tighten back up January 2.

Hello. I’m checking back in after a couple days of mostly doing nothing. I did take the dog for a walk yesterday.
I went to OTF today, my first time at the studio in my hometown. The studio was nice and spacious, but the instructor was just not good. I think he was a sub, because the name changed on my app. His form on the floor was good, but his cuing sucked. Especially for the treads. He gave us no warning before each push and didn’t explain the blocks before we started. I’m used to excellent coaches, so I’m spoiled.
But anyway, it was a good workout at least!

20 min Boxing day run with Becs for just under 2 miles, then 20 min arms and core. I’m all in on doing a half marathon in 2024. Just need to find one that works with my schedule.

Lifting went decent today, especially considering no rest day. Incline bench and equipped dealifts were the main lifts. Had some cramping issues on my heavy set of deadlifts, but still managed to pull 1 of the 2 I was supposed to do.
Food isn't terrible. Except I forgot I ordered a box of pretzels. So I have to destroy some of that for sure.

Another afternoon workout - yay for no work. My body is hella sore. Between the ice skating on Christmas Eve that blew up my ankles, going up in weights in the split program, and bad sleep, I am stiff as a board. Definitely influenced my stack choice today.
10 min lower body mobility with Matty 30 min legs and core with RK (split day 2) 20 min healthy back yoga flow with Aditi
I went up in all my weights for this class! I surprised myself.

Took a rest day yesterday. Back at this morning with a 30 minute ride a 5 minute standing core. A fair amount of walking ahead as well.

I’ve decided to take this week offish. I’ve been stretching and such but I’ll go back full force next week!
I’m going to plan meals better too. That’s what my day will be tomorrow. I got a new dual basket air fryer and a mini rice cooker that has the steam basket on top so I have no excuse why I can’t eat right. Our microwave is out right now and we just haven’t gotten a new one but I need to do that too and then I can go back to meal prepping. But for now I’ll prep veggies and things for the 2 products I have that work 😂

Man, I am feeling so much better. Holy crap. I'm still snotty and coughing a bit, but the pediatrician said they're seeing a 2 month average for that to clear up post RSV this year, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
45 minute interval run with Hannah 5 minute cool down run with Hannah 5 minute stretch with Camila
I treated the cool down as extra mileage and picked up a total of 5.5 miles, so that felt good. I did not do yoga last night, we stayed up late with the kids playing board games. If I get to yoga this week then great, if not, that's ok too. I'll stack one for tonight and we'll see if I do it or not.
I had coffee this morning and water is going down easily and deliciously. Yumyumyum water!
We have peanut butter pie in the house. I'm going to eat it today. That is all.

My cousin and I decided on Christmas that we are doing a half in 2024. We are tentatively planning on the Monterey Bay Half in November. Just in case that sparks interest. Both of us were independently thinking of it and my cousin came with a whole race schedule for us and rattled it off on Christmas.
