Mom? She sent me this article a few hours ago. 😜 But really, I feel like my doctor’s office gave me the run around and I’m not impressed. I may call our local urgent care about an RX tomorrow if I end up with any overnight symptoms.

What is happening?
The US is about stop offering novavax, they have millions of doses about to expire that they plan to chuck. Path forward unclear. I would gladly get another if they would authorize it!

byjove things are very different outside the US. We've never even been offered a booster past the 3rd shot if you are under 65. Maybe some extremely high immune compromised group, but nobody else. Under 5's aren't able to get the vaccine at all in Portugal. Baby blurnette hasn't had a single shot. The boys have had 2 and that's it.

DD tested positive this morning. So far, she is asymptomatic, but no school for her for the rest of the week.

And it wouldn’t be the week of swim championships for Ds1 if there wasn’t sickness in our house. He started puking this morning, said his throat hurt and has an almost 102 temp but now says he’s fine. So who knows. And DS2 says his throat hurts and is stuffed up after just getting over that a week ago. I think they should be tested for strep and H says they are fine and it’s just a virus so that’s fun.

Influenza B has been going through my kid's kindergarten (and subsequently our house too this month) and this sounds very much like the symptoms. Starts off with puking for the kids and turns into a sore throat then head cold with fever. It seems to have a fairly long incubation period too, my kindergartener got it the 16th and I finally succumbed this past Sunday and now my H has a few minor symptoms. Everyone (but me because I couldn't find the time) got their flu shots so I'm the only one down for the count. We wouldn't have thought A was very sick at all except it gave her conjunctivitis at the same time and of course I immediately thought Covid. Which is wasn't thankfully. Good times all around (at least the puking doesn't happen for the adults?). lolsob

Oh no Minerva, I hope she continues to feel okay. How are you feeling? I’m feeling much better. No fever in over 24 hours and just normal tiredness (because, really, it’s been years since I didn’t feel tired). I’m still a bit congested, but I hear that can linger.

I normally don't mind shots but I definitely would be okay with a nasal covid vaccine. My second shot made my arm hurt so badly I could barely move it.

Each shot was worse than the last for me so I will be all for the nasal vaccine.

elle I hope you all feel better soon, that sounds miserable. My dd2 got conjunctivitis too when she had strep and had all those symptoms too which makes me wonder if maybe she had a virus too. But they only tested for strep since that came up positive right away.

SO, the kids, and I all have covid. Thankfully mostly mild symptoms. I had a good non-covid run I guess.

Question for you guys. I am having an MRI of my ankle on Saturday and I am supposed to bring my own metal free mask. I normally wear the Vida N95s, but those are plastic coated wire. Do all surgical masks have wire? I am trying to think of my cloth masks and I think those all have metal nose pieces too. Just pull it out of one? Other suggestions?

It is February, but I don't want to start another thread because {all of this}
I am so sorry for all the Covid positive tests and general malaise, especially for all the ones who had a Covid-free life until now
