Thanks y'all. We've been using multiplication apps and her teacher sent me home with some games at the last conference. She seems to have no problem doing those. She has to think about the answers, but she doesn't get them wrong. She's also been extra clingy and emotional and gets upset a lot when she's not with me. She's had a lot more bad dreams lately, specifically about being taken away from me or losing someone else she's close to, and she wakes up crying quite a bit lately, always from a bad dream. There's been this gradual change over the last several months, and I just have a feeling it's more than her getting older. There are times she breaks down and just sobs and shares so many worries with me. DS1 deals with some intense mental health issues and her behavior and moods are similar to how we was when he was younger, so it just scares me. There are a few times that he was close to having to have in-patient treatment. I've talked to my two best friends who have daughters her age, and they say they can relate to some of what we're I'm going through, but nothing as intense as what I describe. I appreciate being able to vent and get my thoughts out. We'd like to avoid meds, if at all possible (she hates taking anything) but I'm hoping a therapist can help. It's just so hard to see her struggle.

Anecdotal heads up for the DC area people - N’s pediatrician says they’re seeing an uptick in impetigo cases right now. Ask me how I know! 🤦♀️
Also hi. Sorry I haven’t been around much, everyone - 2023 has been off to a busy/rough start and needs to slow TF down already. Been reading and LTing just haven’t been much for contributing ❤️

My mom just tested positive. She started feeling “off” on Friday. Saturday’s test was negative but turned one tonight. 😩

I'm sorry klw. I hope everyone is feeling better soon and no one else gets it. Thanks. She’s been with my dad so I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t get it. And he’s supposed to have hernia surgery next Tuesday.

DD2 was sitting on me before bed and I thought she felt a little warm. Yup 101.2 temp. I’ll test her in the morning. 😩

Ugh I’m sorry for everyone sick or with sick kiddos / fsmily.
It’s 3am and N woke me up bc he felt hot and had a headache. Before bed I thought he felt warm but he was acting fine and had been in a fleece onesie running around so I thought eh I’m overreacting. Nope. Thermometers are saying fever between 101 - 102.3.
Excellent. I have some really cute pics of him snuggling BabyO from last night and doing “nosey nuzzles”.
Fuuuuuck me.

So far baby seems fine 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 No more throw up from N. Still warm but not raging hot.
DH, bless his heart, decided to work from home today. The sense of peace it gives me to know he’s here in case of anything is wildly high.
I could use a nap and a bunch more coffee though.

We started round 3 here this morning with a very faint positive after 2 days of a very sore throat, exhaustion, and a very low grade temp. On top of everything else the 15YO is pissed he can’t go away for a church retreat this weekend - that’s still the guidance right? Limit movement in society when someone in your house is sick?
My parents were due in for an extended visit this weekend…

Round 3? I'm so sorry trueblue. Here's hoping it's mild for everyone.

I am low key trying not to think of the long term health implications. Thankfully each round has been very mild for the 12YO, just sore throats, body aches, and exhaustion.
And no, for those wondering, we didn’t do the bivalent booster last fall - each kid was still within the prior infection’s natural antibody period and then it slipped my mind. I have all the maternal guilt.

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to delve into to any guilt trueblue. We've all been given a handful of absolutely shit choices to make for 3 years now, with very little guidance and guidance that also keeps shifting. We've all been doing the best we can with the crap hands we've been dealt. It sucks. *hugs*

trueblue it is so easy to fall into guilt, sometimes it just is and you have to go from now. Though I constantly need this reminder myself. As far as the retreat, as long as he was still negative and not being continually exposed to the positive person, I would let them go masked. That wouldn’t be any different than the current guidelines for school-at least I’m pretty sure.

I forgot about getting DD her bivalent too trueblue, it happens to the best of us. There's been such a lack of priority or urgency, especially with kids. It's even hard to find kid doses

It's even hard to find kid doses It's also highly unlikely that getting the booster was/is going to keep us from getting infected anymore. It's just going to hopefully help with severity and keep us from being hospitalized or dying. It sucks, but don't beat yourself up for that. It's still important to get the boosters but we're way past shots meaning you won't get it.

And H tested positive this afternoon. I’m still negative, yet I’ve been the one taking care of the kids. 🤷♀️
