I wonder if Eugenie had always told her grandma she loved the emerald tiara or something, so Liz wanted to keep that special for her. They were close. It makes sense to me that there was a grandmotherly thing of having known that for longer than we would have, and maybe she just didn't clue M in on it bc well emotional communication issues.

Hmm, I didn’t get “I’m so poor” vibes so much as “I’m the lowest in the hierarchy” which is obviously still obnoxious.
I am loving all the detail he’s put in. It’s like a little glimpse into the royal life that we usually don’t see. It’s not making me like Harry any more, or less really. It’s just interesting to me.

Look at me making up a fun scenario I have no way of knowing about, lol.
I'll stick with I loved the one M wore, it was modern looking and gorgeous. It really complimented her dress and her.
I was a huge fan of her entire wedding look.

I was a huge fan of her entire wedding look. Harry talks about this too and how much they loved the one she wore so I think the emerald tiara thing was not actually a thing but a Camilla thing to pit Meghan against Eugenie or The Queen

I love the tiara M wore, and always thought the Queen did her an unintentional solid by insisting on that one. It’s so pretty

It sounds like M was offered an emerald tiara though, along with an aquamarine, Mary's Bandau, and 2 others. Harold claimed there was no fighting or demands for tiaras in an interview somewhere It seems silly QEII would have offered emeralds at all if that was going to be Eugenie's thing (which I see no problem with), or maybe she was secretly a huge drama queen and manufactured all the drama herself, or Chuck or Cam (or Willy) completely made up the story

I wasn't there, I'm certainly not going to argue. Why I should stick to my own policy of let's not invent shit we don't know about.

Oh and I know we should move the book talk but Harry does talk about Meghan losing weight before the wedding due to stress

I'm struggling to find an Aquamarine tiara that hasn't been worn by anyone else recently. The Queen Mum wore this Cartier one, but it was returned to Cartier's collection This one was previously owned by the Duchess of Kent and sold in 2014 at auction

I love your theory and can see The Queen keeping the one Eugenie liked out of the mix I for sure don't think Eugenie's was part of the mix, but it's hardly the only Emerald Tiara in the BRF collection. A different Emerald one could have been offered and then the drama made up later to deflect from something else

I like the bottom one but am afraid it would look too cutesy on most heads.

I definitely think the tiara she wore fit the vibe well! They actually worked her dress around the tiara! That tiktok I posted claimed her dress was being worked around the Spencer Tiara (Diana's sisters offered early on), adding scalloped edges to the veil, and Liz didn't offer any tiaras until a few weeks before the wedding Mary's Bandeau looked great, but I thought she might wear the Spencer Tiara

He doesn’t mention a timeline except for when talking about how The Queen said to work with Meghan’s hairdresser early to get the feel for it because it’s so hard to work sometimes and the handler didn’t give it to them in time to do that which again I feel may account for the “messy” hairstyle

Could she have been offered Queen Mary's Diamond Lozenge Tiara? Last seen on Princess Margaret, it has removable Pearls

If one was allegedly "all emerald" was it Victoria's Emerald Tiara? It looks like this one didn't belong to the Queen, so it probably was the one Eugenie ended up wearing. This one is owned by the Duke of Fife? orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2018/04/tiara-thursday-queen-victorias-emerald.htmlThis is a great site to fall down the rabbit hole, too, btw. I'm guessing one of the other offered tiaras was this one:

Eugenie's tiara is my absolute favorite. Meghan's is my second favorite. ETA: Pictures, because why not? And both suited their wearers to perfection.

The queen had this aquamarine: Creation: The original tiara was made in 1957 by Garrard to match the aquamarine jewelry given to Queen Elizabeth II from the President and People of Brazil on the occasion of her 1953 coronation. In 1971, the tiara was heavily altered to include four scroll ornaments taken from a piece of jewelry given to Queen Elizabeth II by the Governor of Sao Paulo in 1968 and the large central aquamarine from the Brazilian necklace given in 1953.

There were rumors before the wedding Meghan might have been offered The Queen Mum's Cartier Bandeau also, which were bracelets she sometimes wore as a tiara Liz has worn some of the bracelets

Lots of jewels have changed hands, been missing for years, believed to be auctioned, etc, and them turned up somewhere unexpected

I just don't see what about the emerald one Eugenie is wearing (which is also one of my favorites) would have required a special braid or anything to keep it on or upright? That's what's throwing me.

I wonder if it's slippery or you need to secure it just right. I imagine you can't just plop it on your head and expect it not to move
