Catching up, so apologies if this has already been said. After listen to the book I actually do get why Harry gave his specific number of kills in Afghanistan and how the certainty of the number was a part of each mission. That number is just a solid fact from his time in the military. Nothing to be glorified (which I don't feel he did in the book), but it's just a fact for him. This is exactly what MH (Iraq and Afghanistan combat vet) said. He also said that pilots track everything that happens on their aircraft - how many bullets they shoot, how many targets they engage, the number of flight hours in combat. When they (infantry on the ground) called in pilots, they called them to engage with a specific target and after they engage, the guys on the ground do a “damage assessment”. So just a fact for him and a number in his record. |

I’ve only made it South Africa and the intro of Chelsea, but so far he’s mostly spoke lovingly about his dad and brother, and wishing for more time with them and their approval. He really does seem to love his family, despite being completely starved for affection. I really think things would have been so different had Diana not died. I know she was problematic in her own way and his life wouldn’t have been perfect, but she was the only one who didn’t see him as “the spare.” I agree that he loves them and wanted to be close, but they just wanted him to fall in line and never saw him for himself. They’re all about what everyone’s role is in the royal family and his was to support his brother as the future king. Diana was far from perfect, but she was a loving mom to them. |

At the end of the day, the person that behaved most outside the realm of acceptable is Willy. Meg made a crack about hormones Kate was a bitch The women apologized and apparently moved on? Except that cat fights make good copy for tabloids and memoirs alike. This. I understand new baby stress, I understand bride stress. Yes we are on edge and can get bitchy. Is it right no but it happens so I can see them both having a tone. The problem is the man coming in and reprimanding the woman. |

He really does seem to love his family, despite being completely starved for affection. Again I relate. My dad was the only parent who loved me for being me. My biological mom couldn’t be bothered and yet it’s my fault we don’t have a relationship except I was 7 when she just vanished. My step mom loves me because I’m still a link to my father. I never felt this way until I got older but I for sure called it out that I’m not her real daughter at the end of the day which is why my sister with my father is the favorite. It hurts and it’s why I was a perfectionist forever. It’s why I know I try to hard with friends and family to get that pat on the back or whatever. It’s why I tell my kid I love her every day even on the days she tries me from waking up to going to bed. |

Both women mis-stepped with what happened pre-wedding and both acknowledged and apologized, which was a pretty decent outcome, all things considered. Even if they had still disagreed with how things went down, Will had no business choosing to insert himself into the situation. The women were handling it, Wills, stay the fuck out of it. |

I’ve gotten a great handle on myself but sometimes it just is the worst I’m amazed sometimes how I’ve become a functioning adult capable of having a loving relationship for the last 20 years and a kid. For a while I didn’t want kids because of it. I know 100% it’s my dad and my aunt influence. |

One was pregnant so she had to get hers done the same week as me The other lives in another state. She tried hers on before coming and couldn’t zip it all the way. It worked out just a little tight but YES I didn’t pick mine up until the Tuesday before the wedding so I was no better but mine was because I was changing the back to make it so no matter what it would fit |

I could believe that Meghan was crying over all of it, not just the dresses situation, but she was already in a pressure cooker, marrying Prince Harry, with the whole world watching, having what should have been a private matter with her father and half-sister playing out very publicly in the lead-up to the wedding, and where she was being tainted by association, and all the other stressors that come with getting married - period - let alone a royal wedding, and then the dresses fiasco. I'm of the opinion most brides need a good cry before the big day, I know I had a moment two days prior where my mom, whom I adore, worked my already stressed nerves by pestering me to go wedding shoe shopping when she'd had a full year to get them. Ask me how I know with my full on sobbing breakdown on the Monday of our wedding on my way to work. Just like Kate had just had her baby Meghan was planning a wedding to a literal prince where millions would be watching and all these weird protocols and things she has to follow while also wanting to have her own self in there on top of her dad and sister. My sister and I had a legit fight over the earrings I wore for her wedding. Yep. How about how my sister picked her best friend as her maid of honor because her soon to be husband said she shouldn’t pick family because he wasn’t having his brother. I turned into a not nice person because I was hurt not to mention I was under some stress at work and we were planning our own. Not my finest moment but I owned it. Also I told my BMs to wear nude shoes, whatever style and height they wanted, because the dresses were short. Out of 4, only SIL understood the assignment and gave me no pushback. I was overnighting shoes for my junior BM two days before the wedding because her mother insisted that she couldn't find any in the right size and would have to send her in gold flip flops instead. |
