I get it I do but I said some awful shit about my mom to her family when they asked and didn’t care if she found out about it and in fact said it knowing that she would. I still wished she would wake up and call me and fix things. But I knew that may not be possible with what I said. So I understand what you are saying but I can see him deep down hoping it can be fixed I have said some less than charitable things about my father over the years - some deserved, some perhaps not - to his face and to others that I knew would get back to him. Am I proud of the less than fair comments? Of course not, but I'm human and coming from a place of hurt and betrayal so forgive me for not always being in full control of my emotions. And yet there is still that Charlie Brown wanting to kick the football part of me hoping for something I know I'll never get. And I know, too, that saying whatever was said would not change what is our relationship (or lack thereof) just as I don't think this docuseries or book or interviews et al is the bridge too far for Harry and his family, that bridge was burned a long time ago, IMO, and to varying degrees by both sides. The minute the media called my kid an ape and my family told me they weren’t going to dismiss that would have been my bridge |

Instead it's "I don't think they were being racist with the skin tone thing and also W isn't cute anymore" and all that. |

Ugh, he's talking about how ashamed he was to cry when his mom's coffin was lowered because he was "violating the family ethos." I'm sure that's not what the family actually expected him to follow at that moment, but it's still so sad.

On a sort of funny note H now relates all central coast events to Harry and Meghan. This morning he said to me, "Harry and Meghan need to evacuate with all this rain!" 😂
Because he's not obsessively on the internet like I am, he will probably come to me in 2 weeks to tell me about the frostbitten penis.

Yikes.
This book is too long. Does anyone really care how often he took a bath/shower as a preteen? I do not. Part of the story was about him looking for motherly affection after Diana’s death, but he really didn’t need ten anecdotes to get the point across.
Im hoping it picks up. It started strong.

I’m not surprised one but his kids grew into what they are today I’ve often said I got so lucky my dad was such an important aspect in my life because my mom and step mom were not and I see it in the other kids |

Those rumors about Hewitt are just ridiculous. Unless Diana could make like Cher and turn back time so that she met Hewitt before Harry was conceived in late 1983/early 1984 and not in 1986. |

Wait did we even talk about the fact that Harry believed his mom faked her death to get away from the media? He thought she might pop back up any day, into his early twenties. He also insinuates Will believed the same for some period of time. This legit broke my heart. Those boys were not in a good way and all of the grown-ups around them failed them. Reading this part and also, assuming he didn't deliberately leave it out, they got no therapy afterward so he had no idea how to manage his grief and just got sent back to boarding school to tough it out, is just so sad. |

It also makes me kinda sad to read about how Will started treating Harry as less than a brother basically since birth. That their brotherly relationship everyone assumed things about was mostly just surface level. I mean, I guess I'm not surprised, but damn, Will sounds ice cold.
