The copper wire that connects the water to the refrigerator must have started leaking sometime in the middle of the night, and we woke up a bubbled ceiling in the basement hallway and a mini flood on the floor. I called the appliance repair person first, but I don't know if I need a plumber.. Do I call my homeowners insurance, too?

Oh no guster. I hope the fix isn't too expensive/difficult. Is it leaking where it connects to the fridge or to the wall? If it's leaking at the fridge I don't think you'd need a plumber.

Morning! The movie theater is doing a special this summer where they play older children's movies at 10 am, and the cost to see is $1. So I think we are going to try that today. They are showing megamind today and I've never seen it before, hopefully H likes it.

Jack all of a sudden can't keep his hand out of the front of his diaper.. Last night he had himself pointed straight up and just as he fell asleep he peed and it got on him and the bed. TFFC: I threw down a towel, dried him off and called it good until morning. It was 11 by the time he finally gave in and I was not about to undo all that work.

It's where it connects to the fridge. We shut off the valve to it in case it takes a while for someone to come out. It stopped the leak, but the problem still needs to be addressed.

Morning!
It's like Groundhog Day here; the property management company is being less than responsive on a couple things so each morning DH puts in a call and email, checks in with the movers (we are waiting on a second truck), goes to DD to get my coffee (keurig is on the second truck) and then we shift some belongings around to make it feel like we've accomplished something. Rinse and repeat daily. My house will be a lot less of a wreck when the truck gets here with the rest of our stuff (fingers crossed for Friday).
B has also wet the bed two nights in a row so that's fun. Fortunately my wonderful sweet husband has dealt with it both times.
I think we're going furniture shopping today. #retailtherapy

When I got him out at the sitters, pee was DRIPPING out of his pjs. I felt like a bitch but had to pass him to her and be like "welcome back from vacation. He's wet. Sorrygottogo" And ran out the door.. Oops.

He's been here a bunch and told us to try and just tighten the nut first so we didn't have to pay a service fee. If it's still leaking then he'll come out and change the connector.

Thanks guys. They are 40 mins behind so we have about a half an hour longer to wait. Keeping C occupied has been tough.

flamingo, enjoy shopping! Does most of your current furniture fit into the new house or are you kinda starting over? Oh no, our stuff fits pretty well. We don't have an eat-in kitchen so we'll store our kitchen table/chairs in the attic, but otherwise we're good. Today we are looking for a media console, and eventually we'll need furniture for the formal living room (it's *huge* and empty except for DH's desk), but that will be down the road a few months.

wedding hope they have started and C recovers quickly. guster when I was in college a bunch of us went to my friend's parent's ski home for New Years. We drove there in a massive snow storm and arrived to 3 inches of water on the floor from an ice maker hose that had disconnected who knows how long before. We knocked on random neighbor's doors to borrow some shop vacs to clean up. Several people were suppose to sleep on the now soaked floors. It was a 1 story house with a small loft so everyone had to squeeze into the loft.
