Hoping everything goes smoothly weddingguster, the same thing happened to my brother a while back. He ended up needing to replace his hardwood floor in the kitchen and a bunch of repair work in the basement. It was a mess. Insurance covered it so hopefully you don't have to worry too much.

wedding hope they have started and C recovers quickly. guster when I was in college a bunch of us went to my friend's parent's ski home for New Years. We drove there in a massive snow storm and arrived to 3 inches of water on the floor from an ice maker hose that had disconnected who knows how long before. We knocked on random neighbor's doors to borrow some shop vacs to clean up. Several people were suppose to sleep on the now soaked floors. It was a 1 story house with a small loft so everyone had to squeeze into the loft. Oh my gosh. Glad it makes a good story now!

They just started. Dh went to dunks for us because since C was fasting we didn't eat/drink either. I'm anxious and hungry.

Morning. I was the first one at the office today which never happens. I got out of the house as fast as I could to let daycare deal with H. I feel bad for the kid because he has a wicked molar coming through and his shots yesterday plus whatever else is going on, but I'm sure glad to be at work. I have happy hour tonight with a group of friends in the cities. DH is picking up both kids for the first time ever and dealing with them all evening.
I told him last night I feel like I've been doing 100% of the child rearing the last few weeks and he thought I was being ridiculous. N has had swimming lessons, preschool, and dance and I'm always the one to to take her and I have to leave work early or go in late because of it. My job is flexible but I'm hourly and part time so I feel like I'm never here. He runs his own business so also has flexibility but thinks his job is more important so it all gets put on me. Mind you he was at a golf tournament yesterday while I stayed home from work with a sick H. He is getting the best of both worlds with me taking care of everything but also bringing in a paycheck. I told him if he wants me to keep this up, I need to be a SAHM which I've always wanted and he doesn't agree with.
And then he told me it would probably look bad if I left an hour early today (to go with the rest of the girls vs leaving on my own after work) because I've been taking so much time off. He later said he was joking but I don't think he was.
Sorry that turned into a way longer post than I meant it to. Vent over.

guster, I'd call your insurance. Sorry to hear that! Guys, somebody in my news feed is offended at the phrase, "if I were a snowflake" a friend used in her post. And I'm over here like, "you KNOW what this makes you, right?!" Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

Today is the only day I'm home all day. I have a list of things I need to get done. I'm laying on my couch.

It's a glorious day today, no humidity and sunny! I'm slammed at work, but I ordered a skirt and top for Ns baptism this weekend to pickup in store at Loft, so I may try to speed walk there during lunch...so I can a)get some exercise and enjoy the nice day and b) figure out if this outfit will work or if I need to find something else to wear.

peachsmama, our Thomas Day out is free other than the train ride, which in my opinion wasn't worth it. It was just up the line and then reverse back down the line. It took longer to load the train than the ride. Just go for all the free activities.

guster that sucks. Definitely call your home Insurance. That happened to us a few weeks ago, the hose connecting the fridge to the water source spring a leak. Luckily we caught it before any damage was done and we just had a wet kitchen to clean up.

It took longer to load the train than the ride. Just go for all the free activities. Our train ride is an hour and 15 minutes and there's an open air car you can be outside and the characters walk through and take pictures the whole time. We've done the train ride before so I know Matthew won't be satisfied to not ride if we're right there.

xolastunicornxo your house still on track to close? How did the inspection/appraisal go? Yes! We haven't heard back about the appraisal yet, but inspection went well! We were super worried they might come Back with a big list of demands for repairs on stuff, but all they want is us to fix a few cracked tiles on the roof! Huge relief!

slenle, that's frustrating. I recently had to have a talk like that with MH. He really is typically super helpful, but he got on this kick where he'd just be like, "I'm going to go mow the lawn" or "I'm going to the store" or "I'm going into work Saturday morning". All those things are fine, but he wouldn't check to see if I had something I needed to do and I felt like then I was doing just as much work cleaning and doing laundry and stuff but I had to do it with both kids.

wineallthetime, that's exactly how DH is. I don't care that he does those things, but he just does them with no regard to my schedule. I told him last week to put today on his calendar that he had to pick up the kids because I have plans and he never put it on his calendar. Luckily he didn't have something come up, but come on. But he will tell me the day of when he has things going on and won't be home and assumes I have no plans and finds that perfectly acceptable.

slenle That's inconsiderate, for sure. I had to have a CTJ talk with Pete a couple weeks ago. He was just laying around on the couch doing nothing except reprimanding Atticus periodically. That's not parenting, Dude. Get on the floor and play with the kids and try to head off disputes before they happen. Do you feel like somehow he puts in less effort since you had H? It seems like Pete is not as helpful. He is doing great now, but I wonder how long before I have to have a talk with him again. It's ridiculous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I get it with the husbands. I told Alex this weekend "could you just do.. something?" The kids don't want anyone but me to do things for them right now so it's frustrating for him when he tries to help them. But there are about 567 other things on my list I can pass off. Pick one dude.

$67 on Thomas tickets. I'm milking the 2 and under are free to death for the remainder of the summer. Next year we'll be paying for J to do all these things.
