Do you think there’s any chance the twins are Aemond and Helaena’s? He’s commented on her before and she got nervous in the recent episode when he walked in. If so that makes ‘blood and cheese’ (don’t google if you don’t want spoilers) more interesting as revenge.

Criston Cole is a fucking asshole. - I am ready for him to die. Aegon is a piece of shit. Why is them finding Gaemon a big deal? There’s bastards and dragonseeds everywhere. - the after the show people said it's a big deal because their issue with Rhaenyra, that she has bastard sons so now so does Aegon. ah okay that makes more sense. The difference being Laenor claimed the Strong boys. Bastards can be legitimized though so Aegon could go that route should be wish.

The youngest brother Daeron is supposed to be a big deal, but they haven’t mentioned him. I find that off they didn’t even do it in passing.
ETA: this is Alicent and Viserys fourth child.

I want to know how in the hell this feet-for-info thing came to be. Alicent is a literal queen. Cersei would never.

It also felt purposeful. Cersei knew exactly what she was signing up for. I get the feeling Alicent found herself a bit in too deep. Imagine the first time he asked for it.

I keep waiting for more Helena’s storyline but a double-sibling-incest-affair plot would be wow.

I also thought when Larys was talking to Otto about Alicent that Larys wants to marry her now that she’s a widow and Otto is going to agree to it.

Alicent backed herself in a corner cause she knows L is crazy and killed his own people so...
It's the Devil she knows.

I would for sure rather pop the coochie for a fleet of ships than give foot pics to Nasty Larry the arsonist

I agree with others that mentioned this was a slow and boring episode. I did laugh that Larys has a foot fetish and essentially gives info for feet pics. I could have done without seeing all the plotting since it felt known due to Otto appearing and how Alicent was acting.
I really wanted Rhaenys to light them up. It was a perfect moment.

My only point to add (as many have been covered) is that I feel there is a reason that Rhaenyra has two generations of children.
We’re seeing the fallout of Alicent’s children vs. Rhaenyra and Rhaenyra’s children now.
But there’s going to be a second fallout among Rhaenyra’s children. The first set (Jace, Luke, and Joffrey) are not Laenor’s. They are bastards. Despite all Jace’s training to learn high Valyrian and how he is the antithesis of Aegon and Aemond in many ways, he actually isn’t of royal blood. However, her children with Daemon are royal blood and have no contest to being seen as such.
Who will win when it’s Jace vs. Aegon (the oldest of Rhaenyra/Daemon’s) children?

Oh, I was also very annoyed when Alicent gives Rhaenys this whole speech about how she should have been queen, women should be allowed to rule, etc.
Mmmmmkay - if you believe that truly, then you’d be backing up Rhaenyra being queen no matter what you think your dying husband said?
I find the writing of Alicent to be murky at best.

Her children are technically bastards but they are claimed by both of their grandfathers and Laenor. If Ramsay can be legitimized why can’t these boys? They do have royal blood, through Nyra.

I saw the leaks for the finale. I’ll wait until Sunday for spoilers, but outside of a few things I like the changes they made from the books.

I just think the story is being set up for Rhaenyra’s kids to have clashes over succession in the future.

Them being bastards doesn’t make them any less Rhaenyra’s sons or the late king’s grandsons. She is royal through her Targaryen blood. They are half-Targaryens. Who their father is cannot change those facts.

I feel like my point is being missed. Perhaps that is because you guys read the books and know where this goes.
I’m saying there are many kinds of civil wars that can come out of the current set up and their parentages. It goes beyond Rhaenyra vs Aegon II.
But, we’ll see what future storylines do.

I wanted more out of the dragon scene but ultimately liked the episode. Season 1 for GOT was a bit slow too.
I wish Nyra killed Otto and meant more business. She just lost her dad and baby and is an emotional wreck though, so I get it.
Her calling Daemon during the birth was sad. I wanted him to go but I get he lost his last wife during birth and his way of ‘helping’ is taking action. Her wrapping the baby. Ugh. All of it. 😩

I like seeing the dynamic of the dragons against each other since we only saw them as a team in GOT.* Like it would make sense that if they’re attacked, their nature might override what they’re being ordered to do but I hadn’t thought about it before. I thought the sheer size of Aemond’s dragon in the shadows/lightning in the clouds was very well done and scary AF.
That was a lot of traumatic experiences for Rhaenyra in a row. Woof.
*excluding the ice dragon

In the books Aemond intentionally killed Luke, then found his body and took his eye. It being an accident of sorts I find to be better because it makes Aemond less of a one dimensional character.

Overall, I feel like every episode had really nice parts. Costumes are great, acting great. Then there’s moments that don’t advance the plot, or they’re too rushed. It’s a bit odd overall but I enjoyed it.
The memes are good.
Oh, and Daemon saying “come boy, let me show you what loyalty is” had me fan girling.

Also, how did Aemond age like 15 years and Luc is still a teenager? Was. Sorry. Poor Rhaenyra. That was a very rough couple of days. I’m so hyped for this next season… in 2024

I love character stuff and dislike too much action so I enjoyed this season a lot. George’s books are too dense, tho, even for me.
