Ah yes. February it is. Copy/paste from Jan thread. Zumba and body pump today. I babied my lower body so I don’t aggravate my hip/butt/hamstring injury/pulled muscle/whatever. January status: I did 28 workouts in the month of January.

I did a short, but high intensity workout this morning. And then ate too many carbs today. Whoops. Tomorrow is a "snow day" (shortened online learning day due to snow) so I'll have more time for a better workout.

13 yoga classes and 94 miles on the bike in January. I’m going to push to hit 100 miles this month.

Well, I did 30 min today, but I didn't like it. I felt/feel stiff and slow today, especially my shoulders and arms. Blah.

I’m stiff all over this morning, but in a workout hard kind of way.
I cannot support a full side plank. My wrists do not like it.

I did 20 on the peloton last night while dinner was simmering. It was awful and I hated it.
Finally broke down and weighed myself. I’ve gained 7 lbs since October. I’m ready upset about that.

Yoga last night. I’m stiff all over this morning, but in a workout hard kind of way. I cannot support a full side plank. My wrists do not like it. Elbows. I can handle a full arm extension but staying on my knee. Would the elbow and full leg extension be better? I may try both options.

Bc I bet they work slightly different portions of your abs/obliques. Edit to add that elbow plus full leg extension is definitely harder than hand and knee. Much. Much. Harder.

BM says she wants on the WW train (which i did for a few weeks) so that should help. Otherwise she buys oreos and chips and who eats them? me.

I find I have no problem lifting the non supporting leg when my knee is down. Which does add a lot more for that pose.

Even on a beginner ride yesterday, only 20 minutes, my hr was at my max for 17 of the 20 minutes. And I was out of breath and panting and miserable. And I wasn’t even meeting the minimum suggested cadence or resistance. PLUS. P was sitting next to me the whole time. Mommy what color should I color my pug? Mommy have you ever colored a star blue? Mommy what does the number 7 smell like? And nothing I said or did to beg her to leave me alone for 20 mother fucking minutes of my life would hush her. Until I finally lost it and shouted at her. Then she laid on the floor and sucked her thumb and cried until I was finished. And then I felt like a terrible parent in addition to being a terrible biker and terribly out of shape. And so I just wanted to curl up in my closet with a bottle of wine and cry.

I often wonder why I can bike decently but still can't walk up a few flights of stairs without dying. have the wine and cry. then get up and do it again tomorrow sans kid.

I wear sound dampening head phones when I bike or row.
If anyone comes up to me I repeat “I can’t hear you, mommy will be done in 10 minutes and we can talk then.” Sometimes it’s repeated often.
I do have a mat under the bike and tell the kids they can’t get any closer or step on the mat when we are biking.
And it’s okay to suck at biking. I have a chart that shows conversion and I never know if I’m hitting targets. I just push to the best of my abilities. And some of those teachers are intense. Others not as much but still a really good workout.

Its new but not super new, a few weeks. Get on it! I didn't want to ride and I actually almost PRd. If I'd started strong I could have.

And so I just wanted to curl up in my closet with a bottle of wine and cry. Yes I know this feeling and I'm very sorry. It happened multiple times when we first got the bike. I don't know if the novelty has worn off or what but now the kids have figured out that if I am on the bike I am Unavailable and will get back to them when I am done. Because yelling when I am riding makes me super angry and out of breath. Sometimes I put my headphones on so I literally cannot hear them and that helps too. It will get better! I was so horrendously out of shape when I started. Just keep at it and don't worry about hitting the cadence or resistance if you are struggling too much.

Ok. So I did get my ass back on that stupid bike. On the 3rd and 4th both I did some biking and some strength.
Today I tried my first bike boot camp. It was pretty good. I’m just proud of myself for trying.
