How does Hagrid not know that the Dursley's wouldn't have let him practice any magic at all? He's not allowed to by law. But IDK, maybe Dumbledore said something to him.

Baby Dan Radcliffe is so cute in this movie. In a child way of course.

I do not support Hagrid in this scene. Dudley may be a shithead but you do not put a pigs tail on the child. Rationally, I agree with you. But also, fuck Dudley. Supposedly he does eventually see the error of his ways after he encounters the Dementors.

We do not physically punish children for what their parents say, Hagrid!

Hagrid has also been manipulated via affection since childhood by Dumbledore. Fucking Dumbledore. Same with Remus.

We do not physically punish children for what their parents say, Hagrid! In the book, doesn't he do it because of what Dudley does? Not much better, but still. After all, as McGonagall says, "We do not punish students (children) with Transfiguration"

I do wish they had Hagrid emptying his pockets with crumbly dog biscuits and everything here too like in the book.

I saw somewhere that in the book the goblins are much less antisemetic than the movie goblins. It's been too long since I've read it to know. There is an episode of the podcast Potterless about this and no the books are not much better.

I have no idea how Ollivander knows where anything is in that shop. Must have his own very specific filing system.

Super morbid thought: we are like 25 minutes into this movie and we have already seen 3 actors that have died. 😬

I always found the time line jump here to be strange. Like the letter says they leave on September first, but Hagrid picked him up in July.

Who leaves an 11 year old to navigate a train station alone? Not wise Hagrid. Thank goodness the Weasleys were there.

Why aren’t Harry’s packages of new things inside of his trunk instead of on top?

To make sure Harry meets "the right sort of wizard". I don't believe it, though. But again, no one should trust Hagrid with children.

I looked a lot like Emma Watson when this movie came out, so my friends took to calling me Hermione.
