I have many Malfoy thoughts. Though Tom Felton was a good looking teen and 20 something. I feel okay saying that because I'm roughly the same age as all the stars. Like maybe 1 or 2 years older.

I do kind of miss the background on who exactly the Dursley's are and all the bizarre happenings before Dumbledore shows up. But also, that was one of the most boring chapters ever. Took me forever to get through. I didn't understand why everyone loved HP so much at the beginning. Also this.  |

It really is amazing how I dislike him more and more with every passing day. If I think too much about how sad Harry's life was pre-Hogwarts, I get deep in my feelings and can't handle it. I know he almost died every year after starting there, but at least he had people who loved him. Right? Like James was a pureblood. There have to be some other relatives somewhere. Even if his Godparents weren't able to take him. |

Really, when I tried to read Rowling's other books, I realized this is her thing—just unrelenting awfulness happening to children. Harry Potter is softened because it's YA and the magic element. But, fucking hell Joanne. I have read a total of zero of her other books. I will probably never buy another of her books again. She's pretty bad on multiple levels. I'm in the group who pretends the books just spontaneously sprang into existence. |

I know Dumbledore's thing is that he didn't want Harry in the Wizard World, but that just doesn't hold up. He wanted him beaten down so he'd be so happy for affection that he'd be the sacrificial lamb Dumbledore needed. I have a lot of thoughts on this, clearly 😂 Oh for sure. He needed him to be desperate for affection. And wanted to be the one to give it to him. There's a reason Hagrid, who never delivered any letters before and was not in any way qualified to do so was the one to retrieve him. |
