No, but I have said "can't wait to see what year 3 has in store for him" So many tantrums. Yes...very tantrum. Much scream.

Yes...very tantrum. Much scream. We're about 5 months away from 4 and we seem to be moving past it. But the early parts of 3 were SO HARD.

Well I nearly had a panic attack this morning so that was fun. Best friend and her family are visiting from FL. I know they aren’t vaccinated and don’t mask at home unless required but have been here where it’s required (so anywhere in public). She asked to meet at a tiny bagel shop. I planned to stay double masked the whole time and then she wasn’t able to meet at our original time. I ended up having to come up with an excuse why I couldn’t wait and could feel like the panic building.

The testing is such a mess. Are both your kids vaccinated? I saw Binax tests in stock in some Walgreens around us. Whereabouts are they? My son is fully vaccinated but DD is too young. They're in Northwest NJ. I called around to some of their local pharmacies and there don't seem to be any in stock. Its infuriating that there is such a shortage. I probably wouldn't go and try to reschedule. I know that's not always possible. Of course, if I haven't seen my family in over a year or whatever, I might try to secure tests somehow or wear a mask.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned (I think so but maybe it’s been a little while)- type O blood is in critically low supply, so if you can and are willing to donate, please do! (And other types are low, so any type is great for donation.) This is also a reminder for myself. I had thought I couldn’t donate while breastfeeding, but it appears that may not be true, so I’m going to try to donate after the new year. I wish they would lower the weight requirement to 100 lbs. I would definitely do it if I could. I'm O+.

This conversation is worst than the my kid is 15 months. ”As our buddy enters his 49th month of life, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for him!” I choked on my water 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Who knew people talk like that. It's like hearing some "gosh darn it" in the wild.

I’m pretty sure they are fine people. I’m always like thanks for the math homework nerd!

I don’t actually refer to my kids ages in months regularly, but their heights are tracked by months on the wall chart. I prefer to know what age the kids were at that height vs the date and having to do math every time. We measure on their birthdays and sporadically when they feel like it.

Sources say our school start date is getting pushed back.
For some reason, 2 days has been chosen. The pessimist/realist(?) in me is expecting we will have 2 days to collect chrome books and then virtual class will start on the 5th.

I cannot entertain the idea of virtual schooling my 5 year old who needs extra help because of his attention issues through his IEP. In person kindergarten has been amazing for him. In person school should be the one thing that is prioritized while restricting everything else for the unvaccinated.

C/p from the politics covid thread
My terminally ill, bedridden father has tested positive for covid. As he never leaves the house the assumption is one of the home health aides accidentally brought jt into the house. My brother (his primary caregiver, is currently testing negative). 😔

So 2020 I started my new planner like usual except luckily it was an undated planner. I used one column to plan meals, always 2 weeks of food listed.
To get ready for 2022 I started just ripping out pages since its still usable.
Memory lane:
Weds march 11th 2020. looking for apartments with my oldest and his pg girlfriend who were on spring break. Met my flight attendant friend at Starbucks to catch up and while there her vacation to Italy was cancelled due to covid.
12th, note covid getting worse.
13th youngest son home for spr break. Grocery shop. Store empty. Airmen at af base told to stock up and lock down. Cue food freak out.
Remote based learning starts after spring break.
There are a few notes like 18 cases in az freak out. And have to go to univ to pack up sons stuff cause school shut down.
Then planner turned into only my anal tracking of how much food we had because store shelves were empty. Almost 2 years of trying to have enough food for monthly meal plans.

In person school should be the one thing that is prioritized while restricting everything else for the unvaccinated. My DS1 is in a structured learning class (essentially special education), and doing that class virtually for kindergarten and 1st grade was more effort than it was worth. He also receives speech and OT services and those were very difficult to do virtually.

I think they might keep them open because hospitalizations aren’t really high. I’m not comfortable sending DS1 back but I don’t want to commit to the rest of the year as virtual either. 😩

I went back to the urgent care to pick up the test results and they had so many patients waiting (in their cars) that they had a sign saying they were closed to new patients for two hours. Yikes.

I feel this too but the unfortunate thing is that parents actions outside of school with their kids (like unmasked parties/theme parks etc) is impacting in person learning (at least here it is).

In us our average is 2% death rate from covid.
We had better pray regardless of who these people are that are getting covid that the death rate drops a lot a lot If we have 265k cases a day that's a lot of potential deaths.

My co-teacher just tested positive and two other teachers are out either positive or quarantined for the first few days of school minimum. Admin told my co-teacher that they are having a hard time finding subs. I do not know what our back-up plan is if we don't have enough teachers for school.

Has that rate gone down at all? Is that from the height of the panorama/height of Delta? I would be shocked if that's still the rate given vaccination increase, but I have not Goog'd.
