I'm a year out from my almost-cancerous biopsy so I can donate again. I need to set that up in the next couple of weeks.

You would not like how Koreans determine age. They’re considered one year old when they’re born and then everyone collectively becomes one year older on New Year’s Day, so that my December baby would have been considered two years old when he was actually two weeks old. He just turned one two weeks ago and he’ll be turning three in Korean years on Saturday. 😅 Lol, I was going to say this. I don’t like being reminded by my friends every birthday that I’m actually a year older than what I think I am 😢

Omicron will likely be done by then and my 3 year old will be closer to be vaccinated so I'll take it. I'm just tired. I feel you. I'm tired and I'd like the weather to be warmer and have more daylight. I can grapple with covid math when SAD isn't making it worse. Do you have a SAD lamp? I really feel like mine makes a difference.

I'm O+ but the last 3-4 times I've tried to donate I always come up short on the iron test. I think I might have chronic anemia or something because I had to get iron infusions when I was pregnant.

We have had 2 years of Covid this March, so that would be us in the third year at that time. I don’t know what makes that sound annoying or wrong. Thank you...same thought process. 0-1 = 1st year 1-2 = 2nd year 2-3 = 3rd year

I don’t know if this has been mentioned (I think so but maybe it’s been a little while)- type O blood is in critically low supply, so if you can and are willing to donate, please do! (And other types are low, so any type is great for donation.) This is also a reminder for myself. I had thought I couldn’t donate while breastfeeding, but it appears that may not be true, so I’m going to try to donate after the new year. Such an important reminder. DD1 is O- and it has been always harder to get.

Can I ask a WWYD question here?
I'm supposed to drive 5 hours to visit family tomorrow-Sun to celebrate Christmas. I found out that my brother's wife and daughter tested positive for covid on Monday. My parents last saw them Sunday. Parents are both vaccinated, have no symptoms and agreed to test tonight or Fri morning before I left, but cannot secure any tests anywhere. They still want me to come (we wouldnt see my brothers family). My gut tells me no but changes to the CDC advisories and the infectious period for Omicron have me wondering if that's me being overkill.

Same. When I tried to carry out my civic duty a few months ago, I got turned away for low iron. I had pretty significant anemia post pregnancy a few years ago for which I had to take iron three times a day or something.

I saw Binax tests in stock in some Walgreens around us. Whereabouts are they?

I called around to some of their local pharmacies and there don't seem to be any in stock. Its infuriating that there is such a shortage.

And no appointments available at Walgreens or CVS for rapid tests? Sometimes some slots do open up at the last minute with cancellations if you can check periodically throughout the day. I’m sorry, I would be conflicted too but with so many breakthrough cases with omicron and an unvaccinated child I think I would reschedule if possible.

They are prime incubation but not turning a test positive time.

OK thanks. That is where I was leaning. My mother will be very upset with me but it is what it is. We couldn't have anticipated such a surge even just a few weeks ago--plans need to change sometimes.

Thank you...same thought process. 0-1 = 1st year 1-2 = 2nd year 2-3 = 3rd year It’s really the only way it makes sense. We aren’t going to say 2 years when we’ve been saying two years all this last year. Year we haven't been saying 2 years though. Maybe you have. Even in TV they say 18 months like a baby. You are the only person I Hve seen saying 3 years. We haven't made the 2 years yet. This is why I asked when are people counting? I count from March. Most have said March too in this thread. So lawd let it make 2 years first.

The 2/3 year thing is amusing me. We really do dig deep. I took a personality test and learned it is hard for me to hear misinformation. Your opinion could be whatever. When you state things as fact, it like makes my eye twitch. I try to ignore that shit. I often can't. It's a character flaw.

The 2/3 year thing is amusing me. We really do dig deep. I never in all my years since my birth heard of anyone counting or keeping time as the two people here have said. Never. 🤷🏻♀️ Then on top of that, despite others saying yeah not 2 years yet, to be indignant about it. 🤣

It’s been two full years and we’re in the third year of Covid.
It’s both 2 and 3 depending on the sentence structure.

I did have a boss who always said "welcome to your 37th year!" on your birthday to make you feel older.

Or better yet, Welcome to your 5th decade! I used to be so bad at centuries. 2000s being the 21st century. I get it now, but it used to make my head hurt.

IMO if you want to say it's starting the third year, then yes that's accurate, but the "we've been doing this for 3 years now*" is not accurate and that's more of what I feel like I've been seeing.
