That other one was over 300 pages. Maybe this will be the one where all our 5-11 year olds get shots. 🤞 Im making this thread to continue Covid talk in a contained area because its nice to leave it sometimes. D1 has a fever and no sense of taste, so we are back to that All the kids have to isolate of course. The soonest test I could get was for noon tomorrow, so with a 24 hour turn around time the rest of the week is a write off as far as sending them back to school/daycare goes. Will I work a full week before 2021 ends? 🎱 outlook not good.

Oh no, I'm sorry! I hope you get quick results and nothing to worry about. We got a notice today that there was a positive case on DS's bus; but I don't think we're a close contact. Nightmares, all around.

I’m sorry Tlex. I hope she feels better soon I feel you on the job front, I have had a kid home or had to step away to take calls about potential exposures every week since September. Currently DS2 is home until at least Friday with suspected hand foot and mouth.

I'm sorry Tlex. Fingers crossed for a negative test. kbw HFM is the worst. I hope it turns out to be just another random virus.

Oh no, I hope it's negative Tlex. We got my kiddos negative test this morning, thank goodness. I cannot wait to send her back to school tomorrow. The constant mental load of worrying about her bringing Covid home because of our special circumstances is so exhausting.

Thanks friends the commiseration is exactly what I needed. I feel like my mental health is nosediving and I’m trying so hard to do all the right things - go for walks, take vitamin D, take my meds on time, reach out to friends, ask my partner for extra support, blah blah blah. The pressure at work right now is a lot and I am resentful of how often I have to take off work because of having the kids at home. I don’t want to feel this way - I want to be loving and soothing to my sick kids. I feel short fused around everyone, including myself.

Tlex, I’m sorry. Something has to give. The expectations on working parents right now are not in line with our current reality. I’m happy our district is going to start implementing “test to stay” for close contacts. Instead of quarantines, kids who are considered close contacts can be tested at school 1, 3, 5, and 7 days post exposure. So far we’ve had ZERO school spread. So all the kids we’ve been quarantining haven’t gotten Covid from being a contact. Yay for masks and distancing!

The three day weekend turned into a never ending weekend when a twin started coughing (with no other symptoms) and then the other twin started coughing. Tests for all the things are negative but school requires a doctors note for them to return so at best they can go back Friday

I didn't update but my aunt only made it a couple of days off the vent before they had to put her back on. She's on dialysis full time as well right now. MRI shows she has a slight brain bleed that they think is from a stroke but the bleed isn't getting worse so they are calling that a good sign. I don't know what's going to happen at this point. They wanted to do a tracheostomy but she can't go long enough without the vent for the procedure. The doctors tried to talk to my uncle about what measures he wants them to take if she codes and he said he's not ready for that talk yet. I'm scared he's in absolute denial and what crash may come from it.

Tlex I find myself being very resentful towards H. Like today he came hone early to help with DS2 but I had to work all morning with him under my feet and still had to work this afternoon. I feel like I can’t be a mom and have career goals for myself.

Add me to the list of burnt out, stressed the fuck out, short fused, and being pulled in different directions.
Finally being back to work for real is helping some for sure, but I'm honestly still not myself. My biggest thing is that I am so exhausted from it all, it's become a horrible physical exhaustion. I cannot get up in the mornings anymore. H woke this morning ten minutes before I have to leave for work because I shut off both my early and late alarm and fell back asleep. I was just so tired. I have an OBGYN appointment in a few weeks and I'm going to ask them to draw my labs so I can figure out if it's just complete and utter burn out or of it's something else. I've always been a morning person and this is starting to wear on me.
I'm so touched out and I just GOGOGO from the second I roll out of bed until my kids go to sleep sometime between 8 and 9pm. Like, I just want a fucking break from ALL OF THIS.

We were fixing to walk to school this morning when we got the call saying not to come. DS was a close contact, meaning one of the kids at his 4 person table tested positive. So that's our first quarantine started, we're waiting to hear from the health department. Do H and I have to quarantine? I'm getting mixed answers but it's not like we go anywhere anyhow.

From what I understand, no because as of now you are just a contact of a contact. But personally, if you can then I would be. I hope he stays healthy and it's all just a precaution!

I have two kids home with head colds. They’ve tested negative, but can’t go back until they are basically fully recovered. Do I think they should go in and give other kids colds that they have to stay home for? No. But it is still frustrating to have them miss this much school. I especially hate the three year old missing his services, and he won’t go this entire week because he doesn’t go on Friday. Looking for that 5-11 vaccine update… give me a date FDA!

Your Local Epidemiologist just did a FB post. She thinks November 4th for shots in arms. Almost there!

cnf you described pretty much where I’m at, as well. I’m sorry. I hope that you get some relief? A break? A reprieve? magically develop more metal reserves? in some capacity soon. And that was not being flip - I don’t even know what any of us need anymore. ❤️

We got notice on Tuesday that D1 was a close contact but dating back to the previous Wednesday at that point so almost a week. The child was still in the classroom Thursday and Friday but just not sitting close to her. Thankfully my kiddo was fine and tested negative but I still had immediate panic because we visited with MH’s 87 yo Grandma on Monday.
