Down another .5 lbs today. Slow but steady progress. Planning to take DS for a bike ride later and I have to grocery shop and clean, so I should get plenty of steps in. I’m at 5k for the day already

Happy Saturday! Today I did: - 10 minute resistance band core with Hannah (today I managed to let one side go and it snapped back and hit me in the face. I’m really graceful) - 10 minute light weights with Emma - 30 minute Greatest Showman ride with Robin (so much fun! And a PR)
We leave for Disney tomorrow. We planned and paid for the trip pre-Delta, when everything was looking good, but now I’m worried it’s a bad choice. But we’re going to go and try to stay as safe and careful as possible. The boys are super excited.

I’m at work this weekend but actually got up early and did a 30 min intervals and arms with Cody. It must be a recent one because he was coughing a bit and seemed a bit off. Still funny though! cnf you are so cute! Is your race tomorrow already?? Good luck!

I did a 45 min peloton outdoor power walk through the hills this morning. My legs felt a bit jello-like when I got up due to pushing myself running yesterday so this felt like a good recovery from that. The walk would have been good on its own but I’m glad I did the peloton audio because it made me walk faster as it was intervals of power walking.
I’m getting my covid booster shot this afternoon so I’ll be laying low the rest of the weekend. The guys are going to dinner together after a Boy Scouts meeting so I think I’ll order myself a big salad or a poke bowl for something healthy that I don’t have to make myself.

“Rest” day today for me. Using quotes because I’ve been ridding out the basement and garage in preparation for our bathroom renovation that will start late next week. They’ll need a good chunk of the garage to cut tile, store equipment etc. and we’re having them flip the commode and vanity so they need plenty of room in the basement to maneuver the plumbing.
And MH, who tends to be, ahem, a collector, is in a “willing to part with a lot of this stuff” mood (thank goodness) so we’re taking the opportunity to rid out, deep clean, and organize.
I’m tired but a good tired.

Super proud of myself for getting in a run today. I felt like garbage this morning and wanted to go then but couldn't get it together before we had to go out and do things. We had a late lunch and my son's soccer game was late today, so when we got home at 4:30 I decided to get changed and go out then. Got in 2.25 miles plus a walk cool down to a 20 min Marcel and a 10 min Matty run. My pace was slow but I did hills today and ran all the way through. I'm down to 1x a week right now so I'm reminding myself that my endurance and pace will increase once I can add in midweek runs.
I really wish we had space for a treadmill, I could do so much more running if I had one in my house. It's so hard to coordinate leaving for exercise.

Sole makes one that gets rave reviews, especially amongst the peloton crowd who don't have a peloton brand treadmill.

cnf 100% I did my first ride on my new Stryde bike! It was awesome. Just a 20 minute low impact but it incorporated a bunch of ab stuff. And it was cool seeing the stats, I'm glad I went with a tablet bike. Now to keep up the momentum! Is Strudel a connected brand with their own instructors? I'm glad you got a bike that you love! ETA Stryde. Leaving it because strudels are delicious.

Friday was a 'rest' day as we aerated, seeded and fertilized the lawn after work. Then we went to Octoberfest#1 and saw a 90s band at a local bar. Today was ' good citizen' training with the dog and Octoberfest#2. I love a good oompah band! Now we are sitting by the fire pit with wine.
Good luck on all the races!!!!

Hey y’all. I’m sneaking back in. My September was pretty awful. Between the worlds longest sickness and having to take an emergency trip home to be with family and some downer stuff I’m not going to drag into the thread, I didn’t work out at all. I feel not great.
But I’m back at it. It’s just a small hiccup in the grand scheme of things. I went for a run today and just tried to gauge how far I set myself back. I was able to run a mile so not awful but not where I’d like to be. I did add on a walk on either side of my run so I was getting 30 minutes of exercise. I’ll probably stick with a mile for a week or two and then bump up by a half mile or so at a time.
My sister renewed her BBOD (that I use her password for) so I think tomorrow I’ll start W1D1 of Liift4. I don’t remember where I left off so I might as well start at the beginning again. Maybe I’ll even keep track of the weights I’m using this time. 🤣

That is very helpful to know that there is one that peloton people can get behind, thanks for the rec! ETA: I spent the evening researching and think I might pull the trigger on one! H and I are going to talk more about the financial aspect of it, but I need this for my mental health and we both know it would make things easier on both of us if I can run in the house like I can do with the bike. This will help me be able to run more often for longer stretches and at times that work better for me. The idea makes me so excited that I could cry.

I took a long stroller walk today. It was cooler but still very humid because it’s going to storm later, so I got a good sweat. Then while the twins ate lunch, I had a dance party with the 5yo which also made me pretty sweaty. I have my COVID booster in a half hour so any further exercise for the weekend is TBD depending on the side effects. Omg. The humidity. I was silently cursing the clouds and begging them to just start with the rain already during my run.

We made chicken nuggets for dinner. And by made, I mean ground 5 lbs of chicken breast, pattied it, breaded it with panko, and pan fried a few. The rest are in the freezer to be frozen then vacuum sealed. It’s not exactly healthy, but they were delicious and I’m sure healthier than anything from a drive thru.

The best I ever do is toss chicken breast chunks in breadcrumbs and dump them in the air fryer.

I didn't get a run in today, but I made myself do something after the kids went to bed. I don't think I ever saw a future where I would exercise on a Saturday night. 30 minute full body strength with Matty and my arms are done for. I have lost a lot of strength in my upper body so I am working to get it back. Fingers crossed that things work out for a run tomorrow.

I got the Nordictrack T 6.5s earlier this year and omg I love it so much. The quality is great and it folds up to a very low profile. It has been a game changer in terms of how much more often I am able to run. It has also been great for late nights, humid days, etc. All those times I'd normally go nah. I hope it works out for you!

If you have a Dick's Sporting Goods by you, they carry the Sole treadmills. You could go check one out if you want prior to buying.

No workout for me today. Went to my daughter’s cross country meet. She isn’t fast by high school cross country standards but she ran an 8 minute pace for 3 miles. I’m super proud of her especially since she doesn’t like running.
I cleaned out my closet and drawers with the help of teen daughter and got out all the bins of winter clothes from the storage room, so it was a lot of walking and moving around today.
Good luck tomorrow racers!

I did not work out today, like at all. I just had no time, we were too busy. And then we had friends over who we haven't hung out with in forever, and it was super fun and I'm tired and sore as though I did work out, so I guess it all counts?
I'm planning to run tomorrow. Saying it here for accountability because I know I'm going to be tired in the morning!

At the start waiting for our 8:15 gun. It's steady rain and 50, so kind of miserable. Going to just enjoy the day. I dug out my old iPod and charged it up. It has my marathon playlist from 2018 on it, so it'll be a fun surprise! I also a Spotify list and two outdoor peloton runs stacked up; Becs' marathon prep that is all about race day pacing and her WHM run. Good luck to you too Rusty Red!
