My husband and I rewound the show 3 times to make sure we saw correctly that Shan cast votes for each. We just kept saying that can't be right, no she didn't, did we read it right? Most confusing, unnecessary, and advantage wasteful move I have ever seen. Still do not understand it at all. I think the people like Danny win. He is mostly keeping quiet and not making waves with anyone which should take him far. People fighting like Shan and Ricard are going to take each other out. I'd love Xander to go all the way but I think it's stacked against him. I think the messiness with everyone else could really help Xander. If he can kind of fade into the background while everyone else fights with one another and align himself with the other underdogs to create some numbers, he has a chance of getting a bit deeper.

I feel like Heather must have done something that seriously pissed off the producers/editors.
I can see no other reason for her to be at the final 7 and have as little screentime as she's gotten.
I actually feel bad for her. It must be such a bummer to get the chance to fulfill a lifelong dream and then essentially be edited out of the show.
Erika too, although she has gotten slightly more screentime bc of the "turn back time" episode.

I’m really impressed by Erika making that move against Shan and if I were Xander I’d 100% be playing my idol next week. That’s 2 in a row blindsided with an idol in their pocket.

The do or die twist would make me sick to my stomach if I was a player. I was mentally hand-wringing!!!! I think it was a missed opportunity to take out Ricard, but I understand why the alliance with numbers didn’t - they were finally in a majority group.

Was it really Erika though? It looked completely orchestrated by Ricard and Erika was just a vote in his pocket that he needed from her.

Deshawn had a comment after that clip about Erika being strategic and needing to get her out soon.

And she did that with the split.

Down to just 2 females, and let’s face it, poor Heather has just been a seat warmer (like I was on my high school volleyball team 😝😂). What a bummer. I’m glad Erika voted Lianna simply because it was good for Xander. I noticed he used his extra vote to help ensure she went home, in case the girls flipped.
I totally forgot Danny played football. He isn’t my favorite but holy cow, how has he come this far without his name being thrown out there more?! I guess that’s what happens when all 6 original team members make it to the merge (well technically that one girl left right before, when Erika switched the winning/losing teams). He needs to go ASAP.
Here is my order of who I want to win
Top two (I hate that they are both white males, but I think they are both playing the best games) Xander Richard
Middle two - either order Erika Deshawn
Bottom two - Danny Heather

I was thinking he had some Latina in him or something. I agree, I hate saying Xander because I love it when women win, but he’s played a great game.

lostinfaith225 Per wiki, Ricard was born in Atlanta, but his family is from Puerto Rico. Based on the edit alone, I would be shocked if Danny or Heather win. They just aren't getting the amount of screentime I'd expect for the winner. Of the rest, I think Erika is least likely and Ricard most likely to win, but I think any of them have a chance. I listened to Rob has a podcast last week, and they made the point that heather very likely will make the final bc any of the other 5 will beat her. So of course they'd rather bring her than actual competition.

I need to talk about last night. Because I don’t understand why Deshawn and Danny voted for each other and not a 3rd person to force a 3 way tie.

They still wouldn’t have been able to vote in a revote and all 3 people who could would have still voted the same. I would say it was to avoid ruffling feathers for whoever was left after the vote but deshawn ruined that plan 😆

I can’t imagine there was any chance that any 3 of Ricard/Xander/Heather/Erica would have gone to rocks rather than consolidate their votes on either Danny or Deshawn.

No, I mean they (the producers) would have made the 3 way do fire or rocks.

I'm disappointed with the women who are left. Is it a UO I don't like Erika? I think she just has continued to get lucky and doesn't have any actual game play. And Heather, she hasn't done anything either. I think its safe to say neither will win
I started off not liking Xander but I think the past couple episodes he's done a really good job laying low and keeping himself safe. I've been appreciating his game play and he's one of my favorites
Eta whoops I meant Xander not Xavier

I follow a guy who does a Survivor recap for EW - he has been on location a few times for filming and up until this season always had an interview with Jeff following each episode, so he's pretty involved. He pointed out that it's interesting that twice now they've shown conversations in which Shan and Erika have made the point that it's been awhile since a woman has won and that adds to the pressure for them to win. He wonders if them showing these conversations means a woman wins this season and if Erika is getting a winner's edit. He thinks otherwise it's intriguing that the editors would leave those conversations in the episodes, highlighting what many consider to be an issue with the game, knowing that a man ultimately wins.
It will be interesting to see but I really hope that isn't the case. I'm pulling for Xander and think he's played a really good game and would also be ok with a Ricard win because you can't deny his game play and challenge wins. Erika hasn't yet done enough to justify a win, in my opinion.

I didn't understand why DeShawn tried to blow up Erika? Up until that point she was with him... how could he think that was good for his game?
Also, after he did that, why did they all still vote for Danny? I thought Erika was the one pulling for it to be DeShawn to stay, and now she was pissed at him. I feel like I missed something?

Based on the jury's reaction of not being happy that Danny was booted tells me why things went down the way they did. Danny is very likeable, hasn't screwed anybody over, and had won an individual immunity.
DeShawn has been sketchy at times, throwing out truth-bombs (another one was ratting out Evvie for telling Danny about Xander's idol) that kind of fizzle. The jury didn't look too impressed by that as that's just talking, not really doing anything.
So let him stick around, knowing the jury isn't likely to vote for him in the end.

I fell asleep right before tribal last night and MH ruined the ending for me instead of just rewinding. I think Xander or Ricard wins and I'd be happy with either. I also do not care for Erika and think she's just been lucky up to this point.

They got rid of Shan too soon and their whole alliance has been falling like dominos.
MH was screaming at the screen that they needed her vote for another week

Erika and Heather are also at that sweet spot where no one is gonna try real hard to get them out because they're not competition.
While I understand why, it still always annoys me when people who haven't done anything make it to the very end

Xander has had a flipping idol that everyone has known about since forever. He hasn’t even had to question whether he should play it on himself. The only time he questioned playing it was for someone else (for Evvie) and he didn’t need to.
Oh wait… it’s even better than that because he didn’t actually have the idol that night. He had given it to Tiffany and controlled whether or not she played it on Evvie.
He had every reason to be the first male to go during the merge. He was the only male left on his team of women. He wasn’t aligned with anyone else to help keep him safe, and he was already seen as a physical threat by that point.
He won the first piece of the 3 piece idol, and had to say that dumb ass phrase about butterflies multiple times. Also, he lost his vote for multiple weeks until the other pieces were found! Having no vote and still staying safe is amazing.
The very first episode, when each tribe went back to their camp, he volunteered to be one of the 2 tribe members to do the challenge of filling up those buckets, missing super important first conversations with his tribe.
He is so quiet and layed back. He doesn’t cause drama. He knows how to be sly about getting votes to go the way he wants. He says it in a way where is doesn’t feel like he is demanding you do something, but just really getting you to understand what he is saying. Richard should have 100% been voted out last week, but he knew he was a big target he needed to keep around, so he somehow convinced people to keep him.
I just love him. I’ve loved him from the beginning. I’ve said it before but I love his voice and I think it’s super sexy.
Go Xander!!

Agree with everything here. I just caught up on the past 3 episodes and I've always rooted for Xander from the beginning. I really liked Danny.
