briarrose I guess if it's for a kid and say, they like both Captain America and Batman, maybe I can see that, but if it's just like general cake making...

radiantfate, I believe it was for a kid, so I should cut her some slack. she personally loves batman I guess, so she will stick him with all Marvel characters though and it just drives DH and I batty.

Whedon, Superheroes (Marvel & DC) - versed in Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones but not AS obsessed as some. Since having kids I definitely don't have the time or mental energy to get super obsessed anymore.

I stick with light hearted anime like Fairy Tale (exception is Black Butler). I really enjoyed season 1 of Seven Deadly Sins on Netflix but season 2 is really short and that annoys me.
I crochet while I watch TV so I always watch in English since I can't read the subtitles and crochet at the same time.

Lakes I never watch TV anymore either but Archer, Bob's Burgers and Longmire are three of my favorites. MH loves them too Bob's Burgers!

radiantfate & briarrose , my son's birthday was a mis-mash of both because they're all his favorites. He wanted a "Batman, Spiderman, Hulk, Thor, Superman, Black Widow, Silver Surfer, Captain American and Iron Man" birthday party.

chad I was going to ask whether anyone watched Seven Deadly Sins but I didn't want to bring up a sore subject. Lol. The second "season" was kinda a joke. I also love Tamora Pierce. Did you all hear that she is supposed to have a new book out about Numair in his school days sometime in the next year or so??? So excited! Favorite authors are also Tolkien, Brandon Sanderson, Brent Weeks and Kelley Armstrong. We also love gaming, currently we are playing the rerelease of Kingdom Hearts for the PS4 together. My husband is playing Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dark Souls 2 when he gets a chance. As for movies...well anything geeky we are probably interested in but we don't get to see anything anymore. We just got to Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and that was our first movie since La La Land.

He was very cool.

For the Star Trek people:
Babylon5 >> Star Trek 😈
I also mostly prefer subs to dubs, but will watch dubs if I'm watching something with DD.
Does anyone have a Crunchyroll subscription? I let mine lapse for a while but I might need to get it again for RWBY and Attack on Titan Season 2.

athn64 I told my husband that Tamora Pierce is a preorder author. Most books I'll add to my wish list and wait for Christmas or my birthday. But a few get preorder status.

I have too many things.
Books - especially sci-fi. All-time favourites include Ringworld (SF), Ancillary Justice (SF), The Left Hand of Darkness (sci-fi fantasy), Ready Player One (SF), Tigana (fantasy), Perdido Street Station (spec. fiction), Embassytown (SF). I will talk your ear off about any of these books. I get very excited about literature.
TV/film - Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Veronica Mars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Archer, Venture Bros, Doctor Who (but I didn't watch last season because I dislike Capaldi), Farscape...
Anime - Neon Genesis Evangelion, Attack on Titan, Serial Experiments Lain, Kill La Kill, Code Geass...
Comics - Saga, The Wicked & The Divine, Y: The Last Man, Fables, used to read The Walking Dead before I felt like it jumped the shark.
Video games - especially RPGs. Mass Effect, Fallout, Borderlands, Final Fantasy, Dragon Age, Monster Hunter, Skyrim, Divinity, Halo (up to 5)...
Board games - BSG, Tokaido, Arkham/Eldritch Horror, Quarriors, Alhambra, I have way too many games.
MH is an animator and artist so we are also deep into Artist Alley at a few comic conventions. We love the experience so much.
This all makes it sound like I have a lot more free time than I actually do.

I dabble in the geek world. My things are Harry Potter, LOTR (I actually took a class on Tolkien in college) and Star Wars. I also go through phases of comic reading and sailor moon watching. I haven't seen the new ones yet.

I'm into Harry Potter, Dr Who, Star Trek and Wars, and board games. DH is way geekier than me so I'm exposed to other things through him.

I love so much and Im all over the place so Im sure I will forget some
I am a huge Marvel movie fangirl, Captain America is my favorite and Cap/Nat is my OTP. I also enjoy the new Star Trek movies.
I am a hardcore RPG lover, mostly PC. Fallout 3&4 (I have a tattoo even), Skyrim, Dragon Age, MASS EFFECT is my favorite and I have played the first trilogy numerous times, I just started my second playthrough of Andromeda. H and I play Left4Dead 1&2 together. We just finished up the first Halo game. H plays DOTA3 and Counterstrike mostly. I also like Sims 3 and Simcity.
I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, Supernatural, Haven, Alphas, Arrow, the Flash, Lucifer, Fringe, Psych, Eureka, Warehouse 13, iZombie, Angel, Buffy, Agents Of Shield, Vampire Diaries, Almost Human, Numb3rs, the list is endless.
Books are Harry Potter (Ravenclaw), Hunger Games, anything by Terry Brooks especially the Armageddons Children series, Mary Higgins Clark, the Left Behind series, even though Im not that religious, The Forest of Hands and Teeth Series, the Giver series, I like a lot of dystopian YA and adult fiction.
I also read a TON of fanfic and am dipping my toes in writing. I wrote a short piece for ME Andromeda and am working on a Hunger Games fic.
Cookies for you if you read all that.

mischief, if your H is also into RPGs, you could play Divinity together! It was a great co-op game. Should be cheap on PC by now too since it's a few years old. The combat in it is turn-based. If you haven't looked into Borderlands, that's another great co-op game (and so ridiculous). Have you read The Magicians? It's a bit more mature than most YA fiction but might be up your alley.

Oh thanks Ill have to ask H about it, that would be fun. I tried Borderlands but I had played for like 4 hours and gotten decently far after dying a lot and then DS shut off the Xbox and when I restarted I was all the way back at the beginning and I was just so pissed off that I havent picked it up since. I might have try again. I hear Bioshock is another good one, its my brothers favorite.

I think I go here. In case it wasn't too obvious, we definitely Star Wars in our house. I also love PC and console RPGs (especially Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, etc) and reading and writing fantasy. I've dabbled in Harry Potter and Star Trek and tried to get into Doctor Who a while back.

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS BOARD!!! A (probably not totally complete) summary of my "thing"s: Pokemon, Harry Potter (am I the only Slytherin tho???), Attack on Titan, Baccano, Battlestar Galactica, Avatar: the Last Airbender, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, The Hunger Games, X-Men, Marvel, etc etc... I love animation and cartoons. I cosplayed once some years back, and I would love to do it again down the road. I am a fanfiction fiend. I love to read it. I haven't been able to write in soooo long, but I am yearning to get back into it. Someday! Also, I am totally obsessed with outer space things. The gas giants fascinate me. Also, there is a solar eclipse coming up in August that I have been anticipating for literal years, and I am so pumped about it

Oh my things... Huge huge LoTR fan. I grew up with the books being read to me. I'm a big 80's fantasy fan. So labyrinth, the dark Crystal, the last unicorn, legend, the neverending story, and the Rankin and Bass versions of The Hobbit and Return of the King are some of my first loves. Star Wars, definitely. I grew up with trekkie parents so some of that is ingrained. I love Harry Potter, but quizzes never agree on where to sort me. Usually slytherin. I'm a big Firefly fan as Well! I grew up playing d&d with my family. Played WoW for quite a few years. I still miss it. And comic book movies make me happy, even the not so good ones. I'm also a fan of high fantasy fiction. Give me dragons. Give me magic. And give me a hint of romance and I'm happy. (Some of my favorite books are actually the d&d based fiction series, like Dragonlance.)

So labyrinth, the dark Crystal, the last unicorn, legend, the neverending story Yes! You're only missing Willow and Time Bandits here....and Baron von Munchausen (but I always sit alone in the corner with this one)
