newspapers i’m sorry you’re feeling that way but I wanted to say that I understand. I was very deep in that headspace two years ago and I still find myself back there sometimes. It’s really hard to undo all of the years of weight = worth, and I continue to be a work in progress myself. I hope your transition back to the office goes smoother than expected ❤️

newspapers, I’m so sorry you’re struggling right now. I’m not sure which bariatric surgery your consult was for, but I’m almost 3 years out from gastric sleeve surgery. It was truly life changing for me. Feel free to reach out any time if you want someone to talk to about it.

Last full day of vacation and no formal exercise, though I pulled 80 lbs of children and beach supplies about 2 miles in the wagon. I also tossed my 6 year old in the pool for a while, so arms are done! Food was either fried, ice cream, or alcohol, but it’s vacation.
NSV: In light of the body image convo, despite how much I still dissect my appearance and critique parts I wish would change, I love how much I no longer give a fuck about how I look in a bathing suit. Instead of covering myself at the pool or beach like I used to, I have let myself be comfortable and have fun with my kids. This is also only the second summer in over a decade that I’ve felt comfortable enough to wear shorts (last year was the first) and I am just so happy to be comfortable in the crazy heat and humidity.

I love my rower, I would be on it every day if I could. I’ve never felt this way about a workout! But I keep getting a pain in my right shoulder after what I would consider a moderate workout.
Sometimes it’s a constant burning pain, sometimes just when I make certain movements. When I rub my shoulder, there is a very crunchy area that doesn’t exist on the other side (hopefully you guys know what I mean by crunchy). It might be a muscle knot, but I’m paranoid about tendonitis after a bad experience in high school. I ice it, then heat. After a day or two I’m totally pain free (it annoys me to take these days because I don’t think 30 minutes of cardio a day is too much to ask, but I do anyway because I’ve been burned before). Then I row again and shoulder is fucked again. I think my form is good! I’ve had H review it and also filmed and watched it.
Anyway, apologies for the vent, I think I just need to call my PC and ask for someone who knows what they are doing to poke my shoulder and explain the bits that aren’t working. But I’m frustrated that I’m this excited about working out for the first time, and I can’t.

All I had time for yesterday was a 10 min scenic walk and 10 min arms and shoulders with Rad. That was my first class with him and I really liked it.

Missed working out yesterday. Body pump at the gym this am with my favorite instructor subbing. Came back and I did a 30 min broadway ride with Sam Yo + cool down ride + stretch. I'm whipped and hungry. I didn't even eat dinner last night. I enjoyed the ride/workout so maybe the peloton will grow on me.
B/L- I think I'm going to make chilaquiles D- carnita nachos.
Having some indulgent food today. TGIF!!

Hello!
I woke up early and went for a pre work run. It was 91 percent humidity, so it was miserable, but I got two miles done.
I also just went for a short walk. We have the day at work to get our rooms ready and I’m pretty much good to go so I figured I’d get outside for a bit.

You should be able to get a walk in MRI or at least speak the someone who is more familiar with orthopedics or sports medicine without having to go through your PCP first.

You guys will be so proud. I got an early start and my kids are tired from a long and active week and pretty much just left me alone my entire workout. I got all 16 miles in in one go with only three quick hop offs. Done before 11am feels very good. I owe my kids a McDonald's picnic now. I won't have any, because I'm not a McDonald's fan at all, but can do a playground picnic for them being such good sports.
My pelvis is aching now. Walking will be questionable the rest of the day. Lots of stretching and yoga through the day for me. Woof.

Thank you for the love and support. I appreciate you all. I look forward to feeling better. But as hard as things are right now, I'm still moving my body. I got a 7-day streak on Peloton yesterday.
Wednesday's workout:
5min full body strength warm up with RK (strength #75!) 20min Spotify Disney hits bodyweight with RK 10min full body stretch with Matty
Yesterday:
30min country happy hour ride with Hannah C. — and I got a PR 10min full body stretch with Matty
The 10min stretch is leftover from the beginner strength program and I just love it a lot.

There aren't a ton out there, but with a little sniffing around you can usually fine one.

Three new tread coaches announced this morning. More content is coming! Exciting! And one of them is an Irish ginger Gaelic footballer from Monaghan, haha that's totally my niche! ETA: Based on the schedule, looks like he might be doing strength, too.

that's exciting that there are more instructors! I did a 45 min PZE this morning with the lowered zones and it was so much more chill. I will definitely stay here for the full program. I started the beginner yoga program and crush your core as well on Monday so I am in full program mode for the next month.. it's kind of nice to not have to think about the plan and just do what it says haha.
Going out for Pho for supper tonight to a new place I've never been and I'm super excited.

The Peloton email specifically mentioned the one instructor's advanced runs so I'm hoping maybe we will also see more 45 & 60 min options. Pleeeaaaaase.

The lack of 45 and 60 minute content is so frustrating! I was just listening the this week's episode of the clip out in the car and they were discussing the earning report from last week. They said that running saw the biggest decrease if classes taken in the last quarter. Well duh, when you put one 20 minute run a day there's nothing to take!
