My motivation is lagging the last couple of days. Tbh a lot of things are, and I think it's why I fell out of sync with the thread. Anxiety spikes, and I withdraw like a turtle. But yesterday I got myself a shiny new prescription for Lexapro. I've resisted medication for... no good reason. I wouldn't resist meds for another health issue. I can't do it on my own. I resisted for so long, even suffering through significant PPA with both my kids. I finally went on Lexapro a few years ago and suddenly the world felt doable. Good for you.

newspapers I'm sorry you are struggling, and I hear what you are saying about feeling that your body is reflective of your personal failure. The Puritans really fucked us up. Seriously, hear me out. Americans tend to attach moral virtue to people who are rich, successful, powerful, beautiful. That 100% comes from the Calvinist belief in pre-destination. They viewed success or beauty as a sign that people had been pre-selected by God to go to heaven. And if you were pre-destined, nothing you did in life would change that fact, so however powerful people behaved must be ok by God. It's so fucked up and it's definitely part of the reason people believe Trump must be good because he's rich and successful, even with evidence to the contrary. And it's also part of the reason we attach body size and personal appearance with moral virtue, however sub-consciously. I don't know if it helps you at all, it probably doesn't but I feel like I could write a book about how the Puritans fucked up Western culture. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Oh newspapers, I am so sorry you're struggling. I will echo that your body is not a sign of any failure. It still does amazing things for you. We are all a work in progress and anyone that judges you on your weight is an asshole who needs a serious look in the mirror.

Happy Thursday! I'm sorry to everyone having a hard time. Yesterday I gave blood so I took a rest day. It took 3 phlebotomists but they finally got it going. I have the worst veins regardless of how hydrated I am.
Today I have upper body strength and then lower body stretch.
I got some amazing news. I finished first in my age group for the 2race series I did. Apparently you had to run both races to qualify for an award. So here I am with a 14.00 min/mile avg for the two races, is sitting atop of the podium 😀. I have to pick my award tomorrow.

Hi from vacation! I have not caught up yet, but I’m sorry for those who are struggling.
I’ve been doing mostly barefoot beach runs while I’m here. 2 at 10 miles and the rest between 5k and 10k. Also swimming and paddle boarding, which I think is definitely working my arches, calves and core.
I’m not stressing about food, but I’ll be back home on Sunday, and I can’t wait to eat lots of not fried vegetables that aren’t corn.

I did Week 4 Class 2 of the You Can Run program (20 minute easy pace walk + run with Jess) today on my lunch break, and was feeling good after so did a 20 minute outdoor pop run with Matty afterwards. 4 miles total in 40 minutes, so I'm feeling really good about that!
I think adding running to my weekly routine has contributed to the 4 lbs I have dropped in the last month. Well, that and cutting out alcohol on weeknights and bedtime snacking.
Oh and I couldn't contain my curiosity about the Tread+ being off the website so I asked customer service in the chat and they said they took it down because they don't have a date yet for when it's coming back, and they want to promote the new Tread that's for sale, but that it WILL return. So I'll continue to hold out.

Sending love and support those here struggling with body image. Sometimes I think about how societies used to put curvy women on a pedestal, quite literally with all the statues and paintings of women that have obvious rolls and roundness. Of course those women had basically no rights like we do today lol but how nice to be admired physically. I’m not even considered overweight via BMI right now but I also struggle with the stomach area that is growing more wrinkled and loose skin as I do change my body composition. Which is good, but then I get self conscious about the skin. All of that seems so silly sometimes because I know my H thinks I’m hot and will hop into bed with me at anytime, which is definitely who matters most besides me as far as what people think of me. Such a mindfuck.

20 min glutes and legs with Robin 10 min glutes and legs with Rad About to go do 15 min lower body foam rolling with Hannah C
I didn’t realize until we were going that Robins class was an advanced one lol so that was intense. It was good though!

So tempting. I mean my Schwinn IC4 is great and gets the job done but I’d love the actual metrics. Really good deal!

The pandemic skyrocketed their sales/reach into home fitness market and then the tread accidents tanked them (I think return to normalcy after vaccines also played a factor). I do wonder with Delta and likelihood of further variants will play into company growth. Curious to see how tread sales go. Ps. Buying the basic tread on Monday!

I opted for a brick workout instead of a long-ish run. Will do some strength later tonight.
20 min 90s ride with CDE 45 min HIIT & Hills run with Becs
My legs feels tired in the best way so mission accomplished!
The price cut on the Peloton is so tempting but the monthly $ jump from the app cost still holds me back.

I'm struggling with vertigo (it actually came on yesterday morning). I haven't had it this bad in over a decade. I'm sure it's stress-related. So I've done some PT maneuvers and hoping that it goes away. I want to get back at it tomorrow.

My parents both use our bike so we have a total of 4 users which is well worth it considering every user also get app access included.

Hugs and love to everyone. I love that we have a place where we can talk about all of this hard stuff, though. ❤️
Today would normally be an active recovery day but it was my 500th run and I wanted to do a live one so I did Selena’s 30 minute Eric Church run. I got a shout out and lots of high fives, so it was really fun even though I took it easy. I did a 10 minute hips focused yoga afterwards and called it a day.

20 minute 90s run with Jess Sims this morning and then 10 minute core with Matty. The inclines were a bit intense on that run. I was glad I got it done as things have been stressful here lately.

My H and sometimes my kids use the bike we do have, and I don't mind them using my account on the app. My H prefers riding while playing video games or watching sports. 😕 If it was only slightly more per month, I'd consider it. Just a big jump when I don't really care about the separate accounts.
