July was decent for me. This month we have 2 birthdays basically back to back, and a beach trip right after. I'll be off work for 9 days in a row, and work days are always my lower calorie intake and higher calorie burning days. I'm not going to weigh myself until September lol.
Keeping up workouts and trying to not let food go totally off the rails is the goal.

Oh hello August.
I think my only July goal was survival. It was mentally a really, really tough month but it's over. On to a fresh start.
I've been pretty consistent on the workout front. Time to real my eating back in though. School starts (in theory) on August 18th. I'm looking forward to getting longer workouts back in at that time.

I fell off on checking in at the end of July, but I’m still here. These were my July goals, which are the same for August:
Goals: - Reduce my sugar intake - Drink more water - Exercise more
I did well with sugar intake, but could still make more mindful decisions .
Water intake was pretty bad. I have a lot of work to do there. I don’t know why it’s so hard.
I was happy with exercise. I averaged about 9k steps a day and did the rowing machine about 5 days a week. I just need to keep it up.

I'm not sure how it's August already. Yikes.
I don't remember my July goals and don't think I made too many because we're so busy and things are so up in the air. Probably marathon training and stop being fat. I don't know.
For August it's just going to be to stay on top of marathon training and try to get the scale to start moving back down a bit. That said, our August is going to be crazy busy, so it's all very loose.
Started the month with a 2 mile run. It stunk. I wanted to do 4 miles but my legs weren't having it and my headphones died a half mile in. I cannot WAIT to be home tomorrow and back to my usual routines and foods.

I can’t remember July’s goals, but I worked out more than in June, so that is a win. I did lose just under 2lbs, which is better than nothing, but less than I had hoped. This month I want to focus on consistency, which will hopefully help with losing more than 2lbs. It will be a little more difficult this month as my project at work is ramping up, and I will have more travel, but I will really try.
This weekend is a long weekend here. I know I won’t exercise today since we will be at my parents. My brother and SIL are here with the kids, so I know I will get some steps in chasing after DD.

I’m so happy it’s august. It means one more month of truly terrible temperatures and then we cool down.
I kept it consistent in July and actually increased my strength training which I have noticed more results from. I am hoping that continues in August. My goal is 3 days lifting and 2 days cardio each week.

My only July goal was to survive my half marathon and I did that!
Regular training was a mess so my goal this month is to get back into a routine of running and strength training. This will be a lot easier once the kids are back in school in two weeks.

My general August goal is to be consistent with marathon training. I need to really get in a groove before the heat picks up in Sept/Oct; it's so tempting to bail in the hot weather.
I need to get back to the HCOTF calendar as well. I took a break when I tapered so now I'm out of the habit.

Started August off with 12 miles through 2 boros!
Goals this month are to stick with marathon training, keep up with PT and get back to OTF. I’ll be in OBX for the second half of the month though, so during that time I just want not go crazy on vacation, bring up my mileage with long runs on the beach, and do Peloton strength training.

I started this morning with a 30 min walk with Jess King and I got a new PR there by 10 pts! 🥳 Then I did a cooldown walk with Andy Speer, and is he always…a bit out there? 🤣 It was a good class though.

I didn’t share here, but last week I had my third tread base delivered and it looks like third time is definitely the charm because this one is SO much better than the previous two. About damn time! 🙌🏻

I actually took the time to hunt up my July goals:
Anyway, my goals for July were:
1 - Do 5/6 workouts each week ✔️ 2 - Continue to work through the Peloton Beginner Strength (a reset for me since I had slacked on strength of late) and You Can Run programs ✔️ (I just finished Week 5 for both) 3 - Weave in the remaining Couch to 10k workouts as my 3rd/long run of the week Ehh - I did this for 2 weeks in a row, then threw in a 30 min fun run for the third week, then a walk for the final week (shrugs) 4 - Cook more vs eating out - I was about 40% with this one so I definitely need to focus here. 5 - Focus on inclusion of healthier choices vs exclusion - This is still a struggle for me. I feel like it's easier to eat healthier in the fall/winter than the summer for some reason. 6 - Swap out at least 1 of my 2 sodas a day with water - I was about 40% with this one, too. I want to blame a lot of this on the stores being out of my favorite flavor of Propel Zero for weeks now, but that's just an excuse. 7 - Get back to doing sleep or other calming meditations before bed - I've done a handful so that's something, right?
I have a trip to Lake Michigan coming up in a few weeks (we rented a house a few blocks away) and I'm super-excited to be going there after 2 years away, but also not looking forward to seeing myself in a swimsuit, which is dumb. I know if I got my eating under control, I'd look and feel better but it is what it is and I'm just going to try and enjoy myself. I mean, it's not like I'm going to South Beach/Miami or something LOL.
My August goals are:
1 - Continue doing 5/6 workouts/week 2 - Finish the Peloton Beginner Strength and You Can Run programs 3 - Do a fun run or walk as the third cardio session/week 4 - Get back into the walks at lunchtime and in the evenings with MH (nothing that would be considered brisk, but just to get back into the habit and decompress) 5 - Cook at least 2 meals/week which will take care of meals 2 other days with leftovers 6 - Focus on healthier choices and portion control while still making room for snacks 7 - Water, water, water! 8 - Do a sleep or other meditation 3 nights/week

I was a sloth yesterday, partially because my legs/glutes were so dang sore from Olivia's Beginner Strength workout on Friday. And again - 5-lb weights, folks! It really does make a difference if you focus on form and squeezing...everything.
So I doubled up today to knock out the last workouts for Week 5 of the You Can Run and Beginner Strength programs:
- 30 min You Can Run with Selena (focusing on form) - I jogged all but the first recovery. I had wanted to do outside since it's cooler/less humid, but the air quality was not great so tread it was. - 10 min Warm Up with Olivia (I'll be honest, I fast-forwarded through a lot of this as I was plenty warm from the Run workout). - 30 min Full Body Strength with Matty (a good mix of everything and some honest-to-goodness core-centric moves although I suck at full-blown sit-ups). - 10 min Stretch with Matty

I can't remember what my July goals were. Maybe my August goal should be to pick a goal and actually track it?
I did meet the July goal my Apple Watch set for me, which was a certain number of exercise minutes.
I'd like to run more, I just haven't found a good route near me that is convenient. The August goal my watch has planned for me is walking or running mileage and I looked at that and immediately gave it up in my head as unachievable.
Ugh when is the Tread coming back?!

I know we are trying to get "stronger, not smaller" or whatever, but I have to say I am pretty disheartened that I've been working out regularly for over a year and have lost not one single pound, not an inch, not a centimeter. Since I started tracking my body measurements in addition to weight in January, nothing has changed.

I didn’t think I was going to do anything today and then got some motivation so I did a recovery ride.
20 min recovery ride with Jess K 5 min cool down with Ally
I did the recovery ride a bit heavier than I normally do recovery but definitely still easy (only zones 1 and 2) and it felt really good. I’m happy I hopped on.

My July was okay. I worked out nearly as often as I planned, though food was not fantastic. My goal for August is to track my food regularly to reset. I’m doing the work through exercise and I really need to have my food in check to see the progress and changes that I want.
I spent the morning organizing and purging stuff from the basement/playroom. I will do a ride and today’s HCOTF stuff later. I also need to find something to organize my weights/accessories since they’re currently just strewn around the base of my bike.

I’m here. July was as good as I could expect, I think. I’m doing better with screens. Unfortunately, many of the other concussion symptoms aren’t better. I’m just past six weeks, so they’re starting to talk about post concussion syndrome. And it’s so blasted hot outside.
August goals are physical therapy, meditating, and focusing on sleep.

Since I started tracking my body measurements in addition to weight in January, nothing has changed. I get that feeling because after 3 years of recommitting to consistent exercise nothing lost here either. I typically don’t lose weight working out, in fact I usually gain a little (especially when training for races). I’d like to think I’m gaining muscle & more definition but I’ve never gotten formal measurements to confirm. I feel like GhoatMonket would tell us it’s time to switch things up and shock our muscles to see some results. There could be a bunch of reasons the scale doesn’t budge (genetics, age, health factors, diet, muscle adaptation, etc.) I subscribe to jorkzy ‘s health plan. Moving and eating in a way that makes me feel good. 😉 but if I want to be more serious about it I’ve considered a trainer/coach/nutritionist to help me reach beyond the plateau.

I think I’m going to aim to do 4-5 biking workouts a week. I had a week with my bike, then was out of town for a week, and I’m ready to be reunited, lol. It was so magically motivating.

Nope on the shock stuff. It's false, so that's a big part of why. I do the same shit all the time.

Hi hi! I didn't post last week while on vacation, so it seems appropriate to re-join here! I cannot believe it is August. I go back to work tomorrow, boo. Time to get back on track with food and workouts and have more of a schedule in general.
We had a great time in Ocean City, MD. Workouts were meh, but I did more than I have done in vacations past (when I did no workouts at all, lol). I did a few Peloton outdoor walks on the boardwalk, 1 glutes/legs workout in the hotel gym (which was kind of dirty and didn't really have the weights I needed, so I didn't go back there), and a couple ab workouts in my hotel room. Better than nothing! Food was not super healthy but amazing. Lots of seafood, alcohol at random times of day, the usual.
We got back Friday, but then turned around Saturday and drove to Hershey to see Guns N Roses (I did the Olivia GNR ride yesterday morning to prep!). They were my favorite band in high school and last time they were touring I was super pregnant so I was excited to finally see them. The show was awesome!! I am excited to finally be home relaxing though. We may have some friends over tonight for beers because I'm just not ready to acknowledge that I work tomorrow lol.
My H wants wings for his birthday tomorrow night and then I swear I'm back on track with food Tuesday. I'll start the August HCOTF calendar tomorrow!

Hey y’all!
Started out August with a 30 minute country happy hour ride and a 10 minute arms with Tunde. Both were great! The happy hour rides are super fun if that’s your thing.
Went to the store and actually meal planned so I’m looking forward to getting back on track there.

Well apparently my July goal was to do some cardio. I managed one, so score. Uh, 2 this month?
I was just starting with my nutritionist July 1st. That has gone well. He's pretty easy to talk to and quick to respond to any questions. Things are going well so far there, so I think I made a good choice with that one.

I can’t believe it’s August already! I didn’t have any July goals really, I just wanted to continue to focus on strength training, which I did.
For August, I’d like to increase my mileage a bit and decide if I’m going to attempt a fall half marathon. This month will be a little weird - we’re traveling a lot and also having family staying with us a few times. So I’ll do what I can and hopefully get back into a routine in September when the boys are back to school.
Today I had to drive 3 hours to NJ where I’m visiting family so I only did a short yoga session. I did get some swimming in also, but it was basically a rest day.
