cnf I’m sorry. It’s disappointing when that happens, but it’s always better to be undertrained than even slightly over trained, right?! Sometimes you have to just listen to your body. Rest, hydrate, eat well, and then keep going with the rest of your plan!

Happy Sunday y’all!
Finally got around to doing Cody’s Disney ride. Aww. If that doesn’t make you smile nothing will. So fun! I might need to that weekly until I’m out of my funk. Was pretty hard for a 20 minute ride though! Followed that with a 20 minute 90s rock ride with Jenn. Also really good.
One day strength training will happen again.
Now I need to meal plan and prep. Last week was rough and stressful with no plan and school starting. I think I’m going to brave Costco.

I’m sorry cnf . I think with any training plan for a long distance race, there are going to be runs that suck, sometimes for no apparent reason. Hang in there! Absolutely. I remember last time I trained for a marathon my 17 miler felt so good and I could have easily kept running for miles more. My 18 miler was brutal and awful and I hated every second of it. Same conditions, same fuel, same rest, same pre run rituals and foods, and hydrating. I don't know. Bodies are weird. It just sucks because my parents were willing to watch my kids for as long as I wanted to run today. Now I'm going to have to do the rest of my long runs on the treadmill. Can you just say....you're still running? 😁 I'm sorry. Bodies are weird indeed. The good news is you are listening to yours. I hope the training gets a bit easier.

My husband suggested yesterday I go back to the same running store and see if they have any suggestions for my ankle issue, so I have an appointment today. My only concern is that it seems like a shoe that wouldn't irritate the area would have not-great ankle support which is...not great? But it's worth a shot, I suppose. Yesterday I spent a lot of the day with an ice pack on my foot, so I'll try to do so for a few hours today.

beatch, I think it can't hurt to see what the running store has to say. I have weak ankles and I was recommended the Altra Paradigm because it's a shoe built for stability, with a really boxy foot-shaped toe box and a sort of "rail" along the inner length of the shoe that is supposed to stabilize the ankles. I hope you have some luck and that your ankle starts feeling better soon!

beerlover Happy 5th Birthday to your DS! CurlieWhirlie congrats on your 200th & shoutout! cnf when a planned-to-the-T run doesn't go well, I know how frustrating that can be, sorry. But it happens and you managed 11 miles which is great, don't forget that! I don't remember you mentioning a specific speed/time goal for this marathon other than going 3/3 after each kid. I consider that an amazing feat to accomplish so I wouldn't worry too much about a crappy training run here or there. A lot of marathoners don't even have the base mileage you do going in. GhoatMonket hitting your goal in 2298, the year?!, hahaha!

I just want to finish, I've known for a while now a marathon PR wasn't in the cards, but this run broke my spirit a little.

I was in the same boat today, cnf. It was a cutback week for me and for some reason my body was just NOT having even my planned 10 miler. Ugh. I ran 4, walked 3.5, then ran the last 2.5. It was hell and I couldn't get out of my own head about it. Last weekend 14 miles was completely doable. Bodies, man.

Just catching up here, last two weeks have been so busy! My husband has been working nights which means solo parenting & both kids started school last week. I’ve actually done okay exercise & food wise, which I guess is progress because I usually let myself fall off when life gets overwhelming. Last week I got in 3 workouts and today was my 5th workout for the week. I’m still doing a roughly modified version of the HCOTF calendar & my overall goal is to get in at least a lower body day, upper body day & full body day. If that’s all I can do in a week, I’m good with it. Progress not perfection & all that. Today was 10 min core w/ Olivia & 30 min pop ride with Cody.

cnf and keg so sorry you guys had rough runs, but you're not alone! I had planned 5 mi today but only made it 2.5. Same here, my body was just revolting. My legs felt like lead and I just literally could not push it to do more. It's so discouraging, but I'm reminding myself that when I run Tuesday morning it will probably go great. I hope the same for you!

Anyway, based on how poorly today went and how very behind I am on training, I'm officially canceling plans for the October half. It's a bummer but also a relief. I've been struggling with increasing endo pain following my period last week, and that plus my body's inability to endure runs in the humidity are making me nervous about being able to put in the work to have a successful race. I also need to get my food back in check to have that piece in place, so I think I'll plan to try again in the spring.

I meal prepped for the 2nd straight week which hasn’t happened in months. And my brother suggested I set reminders in my phone to make sure I get moving each hour so I’ve done that today too. I felt like a lump last week so I need to kick it into gear this week.

Taking a complete rest day today. I'm fucking exhausted and struggling to keep my eyes open. I've had a significant amount of coffee already today and it's barely 10am here.
Breakfast was french toast. Lunch is TBD but there will be a massive amount of Starbucks for my drive home. Dinner will be pizza delivery.

Morning. I didn’t check in this weekend but it went ok. Saturday was an active recovery day. On Sunday, I did a HIIT run, some yoga and barre. Today I did:
- 10 minute core with Rad - 10 minute lower body with Adrian - 20 minute lower body with Selena (I used 25 pound weights for this one, was happy with that progress!) - 3 mile easy run

Did my normal working out this weekend, but also met up with friends visiting from out of town and had more beer and fried food than usual. We did have tempura cauliflower, which was delicious!
Had some coffee and water this morning, and ran a bit over 5k! Not sure what else I'll do today except for riding my bike to pickup DD.

Weekend was okay. Saturday I did a ride and some stretching then did a Costco trip, had lunch out and we had the giant taco salad from Costco for dinner. Yesterday we had 10 for Sunday dinner so we did hamburgers and hotdogs. Just finished a flash 15 from 8/13. I book marked it to do again as I really liked it. We are about to head out to Atlanta to see the Yankees and braves play tonight. I can't wait to be sitting in a baseball stadium eating a hot dog and drinking a beer. It's one of my favorite things.

Went back to the gym for mid-morning body pump. So Monday workout done and I'm very behind on work B- avocado toast with hardboiled egg L- idk D- venison steaks with potatoes and veggies S- rice cakes with hummus and cucumbers.

Evidently the latest Peloton Android app update has some lines of text embedded in the code that are laying the groundwork for rower workouts. For those of you who had Peloton rower on your bingo card (or wishlist).
You can also now pre-qualify for an Affirm loan for the Tread on the website, so it looks like they are getting ready to start selling and shipping those soon.
Still no word on Tread+.

Hello! Back from vacay and back to reality, lol.
First ride this morning since we left a month ago: Cody's 20 minute Disney ride. SO FUN. Perfect as a way to get back into it. Then, so much walking again with the dog and kids. Got caught in a downpour in the park!

I'm feeling good today. Spin class 2x this weekend and I was able to eat what I wanted with little to no guilt. This morning I'm working from home and snuck in 2 miles on the treadmill before starting. I haven't run in at least a mile and a half and I really need to rebuild my endurance.
B: coffee w oat milk, cantaloupe, scrambled eggs, hard salami L: big salad D: quinoa salad and chicken thighs

Back at it today. Yesterday I did a leisurely 2 mile walk with the twins. I also decided to hit pause with my trainer for the foreseeable future. I'm bummed about it but I just gave our nanny a significant (and much deserved) raise and I need to rearrange my budget a bit. I am comfortable with working out on my own at home so I am not too worried about any progress being lost either. Just a bummer to lose that relationship with my trainer, since we are friends.
Today I did:
10 min chest and back with Adrian 10 min chest and back with Olivia 10 min core with Matty
I don't know why I chose Olivia, I should know better, lol. So many pushups.
