Hello! I have not checked in in awhile but I'm trying to follow along. You all are doing great! I have not worked out. My body is in a constant state of stress of these days and I have felt paralyzed to do anything but doomscroll. Stupid Texas. Going to try to get back at it this weekend. Could you try to get in even a short bit of yoga, or even just a walk today? Maybe even grab a (non dystopian) book and read for 10-30 minutes, or listen to an audiobook just to break the cycle in your head? DH and I have been going for 20 minute walks every day so there is that. It’s our time of day to chat and let it all out without a kid overhearing. Definitely helps. I also just deleted Twitter. If that doesn’t help nothing will, lol.

Woof. I eat at around the same times every day, but today my body decided in Kroger it wanted food NOW NOW NOW and I ended up coming home soaking wet from my blood sugar dropping. People at the store probably thought I was a drug addict or something, I was so sweaty and pale.

cnf I feel you but remember there’s no shame in buying clothes that fit your current body. Squeezing into goal clothes that are uncomfortable and tight isn’t motivating or inspirational, it’s torture and will only make you focus on it more. You might find that your body image improves when you’re in clothes that fit well and look cute, no matter what the size on the tag says.

I really thought I'd manage to drop some weight this summer though and just wear my regular pants. Then I gained instead and I'm just so frustrated. I've started slowly weaning the baby too. I'm hoping dropping breastfeeding might help too. I don't know, I don't want to spend money on clothes that I desperately want to be temporary.

Finally got outside for a run today! After all the talk earlier in the thread, I gave Becs’ outdoor 20 minute classical run a try and really enjoyed it! Will definitely be checking out some of her tread classical runs now. I also did Matty’s recent 20 minute Pop Run, which was just okay. I’m not a big fan of progressive runs.
Four more days of summer break and my kids will be back in school so I can get back to a more regular fitness routine! Debating which Peloton program to try to kick myself back into gear.
All runners are runners. Gatekeeping hobbies is so ridiculous.

Becs has a classical run on the live schedule for this weekend, FYI for all peloton runners.
Also, if you Becs fans want a weird but fun class, the intervals run I did with her today was great. It's a 9 minute warm up, one minute cool down, all two minute recoveries, but she keeps the interval lengths unknown. She cues you at the last minute and every one was a different length. Fun for keeping you on your toes and having some faith in your pacing abilities. It's from 7/24/21 should anyone be feeling frisky for something different.

Unless someone is claiming to be an accomplished and medaled distance runner/sprinter/weight lifter/cyclist etc....then who the hell cares? Let people enjoy movement without shaming them. The only time it is appropriate to correct someone is if their form may cause injury or something. And even then, do it in a helpful nonjudgmental way. Preaching to the choir here, I know.

I get not wanting to buy stuff that is temporary, but get at least a couple things that fit you well. They don't have to be high dollar items.

I know you want it to be temporary, that’s the hardest part. Weaning and getting more consistent rest will probably help. I’m just saying there’s no sense torturing yourself in the meantime. Said as someone who recently upgraded pant sizes.

DD woke up last night at 2a so sick with what sounds like croup. I went back to bed at 3:30 and H stayed up with her, but I work at 5, so I am dragging today. I called it a day early and took her for her covid test and when she went for her nap worked out. Now all I want is a nap.
30 min old XOXO ride w/Cody 5 min Cool down w/Emma 5 min stretch w/Robin

I got a 20 minute run in and followed it up with 30 minutes of chest/triceps. I found a 5k at a nearby brewery this fall that I want to aim for. Assuming Delta doesn’t fuck it all up. I like having a race in mind to train for, and I’ll gladly take the free beer for completing it. They’re also doing a one mile run where you have to drink a beer every quarter mile. Maybe I should do that one 🤣

Could you buy a couple staples and then do something like le tote or stitch fix rentals to get things your current size without needing to commit? You'd know if they make you feel better, too!

20 minutes of morning yoga with Chelsea this morning, it was lovely, and then I took the kids for a mid day swim since DS preschool is closed before the "new school year" starts Monday. Walk or swim this afternoon, followed by takeout burgers for dinner - we're cashing in all of the prizes from the summer reading program at the library, so Islands tonight, CPK tomorrow after haircuts, and hot cocoa from our favorite coffee shop Sunday morning.

I should probably stop following Ally too. Today her caption was something like "Day 5 of the wedding..." and I was like girl, stop. There is another one from an hour ago. You would think she just now got married! Omg.

Squats went decent tonight. Working on visualizations and actually keeping myself focused in the moment instead of letting my mind wander or try to get to the next rep/set before I am there.
That was definitely the easiest sets of 3 at 335 I have done, so between gains and that stuff, things are going the right way.
Lifting weights still going up, body weight still going down.

I am days behind. Thursday I did legs and glutes and a lower body stretch. Yesterday I took a complete rest day. This morning I did a flash 15 which completely kicked my ass. Food has been okay, My dinners haven't been the healthiest but have been tasty. Thursday night we went to a wine dinner in celebration of my father-in-law's birthday, last night we met friends for happy hour and then got pizza. Today we are going tubing and then we'll get lunch out afterwards. Eta: cnf I had that same issue a few years ago. I literally didn't have one pair of pants I could wear into the office and had to go up to Charlotte to the corporate office. I went to Walmart bought three pair of pants at $11 each. They were perfect and honestly ended up being some of my favorite pants.
