Today has been good. I made a brown sugar salmon and green beans from the garden. It was so easy and delicious.
An old 45 min Hip Hop ride w/Robin 20 min Pop Ride w/Tunde 5 min cool down ride w/Kendall 5 min Post ride stretch w/Robin
I agree with all the talk about Ally’s wedding. It makes me not want to take any of her classes anymore. It’s a lot.

Good evening!
Skipped ahead to leg day on HCOTF- 20 min glutes/legs with Rad, 10 min barre with Hannah, 10 min core with Matty, and a 20 min 80s ride with Robin.
B - toast, turkey bacon, fruit L - leftover pasta with Italian turkey sausage & marinara + salad D - inspired by my farmers market trip - zucchini turkey burgers (Skinnytaste), corn on the cob, sliced tomato medley, baked chips S - frozen banana w/ pb
H and I are seeing Green Day/Weezer/Fallout Boy tomorrow (not super excited, but he went to GNR for me!) so there will be beers and unhealthy food per usual.

Exercise makes me so hungry though 😓 and that's annoying. This is happening to me now that I’m committing to working out every day. So every night it’s just me sitting around thinking, “Ma’am, 30 minutes of cardio do not mean you can eat two dinners” before I crack and ask my H to bring chicken wings from work. Clearly I have some habits to adjust somewhere 😂

I’m kinda laughing that Ally is still posting wedding content. How much more? Haha. I know, right? It’s been like 10 days of non stop posts. Her wedding looks absolutely amazing, all the attention to detail, meaningful elements. But like keg mentioned it seems all about her in a odd way. It’s been a big turn off for me and I REALLY liked her going into this. I hope I can get past this in our Peloton relationship 😉😆 Still?! Oh my. I admit that I unfollowed her because of it. I really liked her, too! But now someone thinks they're the next Beyonce so idk... 😆

I'm a mess. I had a cold/flu thing (but yay not covid) over the weekend that really sucked. I was a coughing a ton so held off on running. Then yesterday I was finally feeling up for it but ended up with an awful migraine. So I spent the night getting sick all night and not sleeping. Laaaaame.
I've gone wild with electrolytes and nutrient dense food today to try to feel better tomorrow. 🤞🤞 Really hoping I'm squared away to get back on track for my long run this weekend. I've enjoyed keeping up here and living vicariously through everyone this week!

My hip pain is back, even though I've just been swimming every day. I have had a few more sweets past day or so, so maybe that's it? Seems unlikely, but it's a bummer nonetheless.

Still only to page 13 but I want to log my workout before bed.
5 min core with Matty 10 min glutes and legs with Chase 10 min arms and shoulders with Callie 10 min yoga with Anna
I abandoned the Beginner Strength program after week 2. 🙈 Having to do that same repetitive warmup and stretch at the end was agonizing. I enjoyed this whole stack I randomly assembled today though.
Also, wtf to people judging who is or isn’t a real runner. You guys are doing great and can tune out that noise.

So I saw that about her DH planning everything (which is totally awesome!) but then why were most of her posts about HER many outfits & dancing? And not them together? I get it’s her insta account but she certainly took to being the center of attention easily 😉 the whole weekend was dreamy and definitely insta worthy. I think covid made me look at differently.

Really busy week and out of my routine.
I did a 30 min Broadway ride last night.
Back to the gym this am for body pump! That’s probably all I’ll have time for today but it’s better than nada!

We’re without power at work, so I’m WFH. I took the opportunity to skip CF this morning and stay in bed and go for a run a little later instead. I did an older 30 min pop run with Andy. I had a meeting about halfway through, so I called in and ran during it, stopping only when I had to talk (it’s a mostly listening meeting for me). So instead of my planned 3, I got 4 miles instead. 20 min post run stretch with Wilpers.
Not much planned for this weekend, it’s the last one before the kids start school next Wednesday. I’m looking forward to relaxing. Maybe having friends over to swim.

Oh! How could I forget! DH and I are doing a couples golf night this evening. Should be pretty interesting being as I’ve only golfed 0 times in my life. 😂
I mean, I can rock a mean putt-putt game, but I’m pretty sure that’s not what this is going to be.

Yesterday I got in a 20 minute latin run with Adrian and a 10 minute core with Matty. The 10 minute core had a surprising amount of arm/chest work. It was fine, but unexpected. I was a little bit worried when my chest started to hurt yesterday since I hadn't specifically done anything upper body related until I remembered all the work in that core class. I've been trying to do 5-10 minutes of core every day, per PT, and I can tell I'm making some small gains in my core strength. This morning I had PT. My pelvis alignment was the best the physical therapist had seen from me, so that was great news. My goals there are to just keep on doing what I have been doing at home, since it seems to be helping. I'm not sure what the weekend will bring. We are heading out of town, which is going to change our normal weekend schedule.

I did 20 min core for runners and a fully body stretch & meditation this morning (from the Allyson Felix program). I am actually really enjoying this program and mix of running/yoga/meditation/strength/stretching. I wish it was longer than 1 week!

this week for exercise has sucked. my period has completely kicked my ass. i am telling myself it's ok. and i can just pick back up tomorrow.
fingers crossed, i listen to myself tomorrow morning and go out for a run.

FWIW in the name of honesty, I'm happy with how I handled last week, but I'm still unhappy with my weight. I know what I need to do to fix that, just don't want to, so it's still my ongoing battle. One step at a time, I guess, last week was a big one. It is an ongoing thing, and really it probably will be forever. You may get to a point where you can be satisfied with the number and how you look, and occasionally you might see a number or a glance in the mirror and still think "WTF". Being able to manage that reaction and not have it take over the behaviors associated with that is very big. And just like the scale going up a little, if your initial reaction next time isn't as collected and managed, that isn't a failure. It's nice if it stays, but continually learning how to manage that is still a step.

Morning.
10 mile run done. I did a 60 minute intervals run with Becs and Chase's live 30 minute pop run. To get the live in I started like a good 40-60 minutes later than usual. Chase isn't my favorite and I didn't get a shout out for 300, instead DD2 screamed at me the entire 30 minutes, so not worth the late start, but it's done though. Got in a 10 minute post run stretch and will do yoga tonight to make sure I'm loosened up.
I took measurements today for the first time in six months. No surprise, they all went up as did my weight. I'm going to have to suck it up and order new work pants. Ughhhhhh. Dumb body.
Food should be fine. I ended up having a fair out of sweets yesterday, that will not be the case today.

cnf I really want to like Chase, but every time I try one of his classes I’m disappointed. And the one time I did one of his on the treadmill and actually watched how he runs I was anxious the whole time worrying that he was just going to go flying off the back of the belt!

His stride is so awkward! I think it's the incessant "1-2-1-2" he yells the whole time. I don't know, I've tried him a few times but it was a while ago now. I was hoping maybe I'd come around to him since his punk run playlists are always so good, but he just isn't for me.

We’re still in the “schedule transition chaos” phase of back-to-school. Most of my goals have been pushed to the back burner this week, but I did order the yoga mat and pair of dumbbells, so yay for doing the best I can with all that’s going on? Hey that’s great! The amount of times I have done some vvv mild stretching and have called it yoga in the last 30 minutes before I go to bed is.... yeah. I have found that just setting the intention and following through (no matter how small of an action it is) is really helpful for me mentally. Maybe not so much physically, I’m ok with that.

Slept in again today and it felt good! We did go out, it was later than I anticipated so it was HOT and muggy even though it was in the shade.
I walked/jogged on a mtn bike trail (2.1 miles) and was just happy that the dog didn’t pull me down. It wasn’t relaxing at all. But it felt good.

Another good cardio day here.
5 min warm up ride with Kendall 30 min sweat steady ride with Jess K (most recent, EDM trap theme) 10 min cool down ride with Leanne
Well that ride was just as hard as yesterday which makes sense because it was the same difficult rating, lol. I really love going hard on those rides though. It makes me feel so strong to ride at such a high resistance for prolonged periods. I much prefer these rides to tabata rides and such.

Maybe even grab a (non dystopian) book and read for 10-30 minutes, or listen to an audiobook just to break the cycle in your head?
