20 minute classical ride today. I really enjoyed all the classical music. I will definitely do his next one. B: Greek yogurt and strawberries L: Lean ground beef burger and salad D: chicken, veggie and rice bowl from a local place. I did Becs classical run last week and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I know kegs and I were chatting a bit recently about it, but I really the classical runs Becs does. They are surprisingly fantastic!

I did a sweat steady ride yesterday afternoon and my legs were mush. Idk what I’m doing today but not that! Anyone have favorite arm workouts? I like the ride + arms ones okay but want a good 10 min upper body option I think. I love all the Ben 10 minute arm strengths classes. He is very no nonsense and keeps it very simple and straight forward.

MIL is here today. She offered to come early so I could run outside and I think she was surprised I only planned a short a run. My legs are very creaky and it was already over 80° degrees with humidity so thick you can see it. Heat index is going to about 100F today, so no thanks to running long in that, lol.
I put on music and did 4 slow miles. Kept the first three at recovery pace and added some speed to the last one just to get some better turn over. Then I did two 10 minute post run stretch classes in the grass. I'm sitting outside sipping water right now, but looking forward to a shower. I'm a mess.
The girls are insisting on Olive Garden for lunch with MIL, so pasta is on the lunch docket. I'll keep dinner very light and just call it good.

Frustrating weekend for me. Since I last posted, I’m pretty sure I either tore or strained my back in 2 places on my right side. I felt a few twinges starting last Tuesday on my run, but I just thought it was the typical sore muscles so I kept doing workouts. Really started noticing pain on Friday so I tried to limit use of it over the weekend. That clearly didn’t work because I woke up yesterday and couldn’t move it at all without serious pain. So my arm is now in a sling so I won’t use it at all.
As if I’m not frustrated enough - I feel like I’m losing all of my hard earned progress - this weekend I planned a kid-free overnight golf trip for MH’s 40th, with several rounds of golf scheduled for us. There’s zero chance I can do that now, so I’m feeling extra down that I ruined his birthday trip. He’s been super understanding but he’s been talking about these courses for years so i feel awful.

back in the swing of things! hockey registration came up yesterday and we got the kids into pre-season and regular season and I am so damn excited to have a regular year (I HOPE). I took a 45 minute walk last night that was really nice. The cupping reallllly helped. My range of motion basically doubled in my shoulder. I am still taking it easy until it's fully normal but I feel much, much better today. I will need to meal plan today as well, maybe a ride tonight.

I also love the classical! That Bradley Rose ride was on my list for yesterday before I decided to take a walk. Emma's classical cool down is my fave cool down and I do it often.

Finally feeling on the mend - I did 20 minutes of easy yoga this morning, and that's likely it for today - we go inspect the new house that we're under contract for this morning, and then have a play date this afternoon.

Hey everyone! I just got back from a five-day trip to Portland, OR. It was my first time there, SS1 is moving up there in two weeks for college so we went to scope out the neighborhood he'll be living in and find the best coffee shops, etc. My brother and SIL moved there four months ago so we visited them, as well. A great trip! Portland is so green!
Eating was terrible, lots of pastries and on-the-go foods, but I managed to run every single day to keep up my exercise streak, even if only for 20 minutes, and felt really good about that. Water intake was good, too.
Back to normal today, work and then I'll probably get on the bike and get back into the HCOF stack.
I hope everyone is having a kickass week so far!

They are surprisingly fantastic! I wasn't sure I would like the one I did a while back but I LOVED it. I did it on the track and it kept me from being bored. So many good songs, including "River Flows in You" and an instrumental version of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck." But I will confess that the Superman theme track was my fave and hell yes, it made me smile and push that much harder. If that makes me cheesy, so be it (like that's a surprise to anyone here LOL). It's the one from 12/30/20.

sunshinedaisies, don't be so hard on yourself. You cannot, will not lose all of your progress overnight or even in a handful of weeks. Even if it will seem like it when you start back. It takes a lot longer lose progress than to gain it in the first place and while the first week or two back might seem like a huge mountain, it will start to smooth out fairly quickly after that. Can you reschedule the golf weekend and do something else for his actual birthday weekend? Tell him he gets two celebrations.

I did Week 7, Day 1 of You Can Run.
It was 30 minutes of intervals with Selena and it's the first time in a long time that I've done 20+ minutes of straight running on a tread. Well, jogging/running but no walking except for the very beginning and the one-minute cooldown on the end. It's more mental for me than anything else but I hug in there and my paces weren't too embarrassing.
I did a 10 minute post-run stretch with RK afterwards (although it ended up being 8 minutes, which weird).
I was going to do a lower body strength but my legs were tired between the mowing yesterday and the running today.

I almost bought a like-new exercise bike from a neighbor on FB marketplace yesterday, but someone else snagged it first. Oh well. It would’ve been nice having a cardio option in my garage, but I guess I’ll stick to outside runs/walks with my kids for the time being. That’s probably for the best, for the sake of balance and my mental health, but darn it! I’ve got the Peloton FOMO thanks to this thread, and the bike would’ve been Peloton compatible. I’m sorry you missed out on the deal, but there’s some pretty reasonable sunny bikes on Amazon. I use that for peloton and highly recommend it!

I’ve been on vacation visiting my parents this week and I’ve been able to get out for a walk or run everyday. I ran with my brother yesterday and did 5 miles, which is more than I’ve done in a while, so that was really nice!

I did my 200th ride this morning!
45 min Pop ride w/Kendall my legs were definitely sore from yesterday, so I took it a little easy, but it was a good ride!

I had an active vacation. We rented bikes and rode on the beach (slowest 3 miles ever with a 5 yo on a bike with training wheels!!) Lots of swimming. Eating was ok.
Back at it this week. I may have just found my next half - Lighthouse Loop on 10/23.
I have been stewing too, at dinner on Friday night we were talking about how the group my h was working for had a 5k scheduled for Saturday. It was determined, I couldn't participate due to him having to work which was ok. but in the conversation he said, but they are real runners.....
HOLD UP. What the F. Am I not a real runner. He tried to say well they get up early and are done before their 7:15 meeting. I am sorry, just because I am not super fast doesn't make me a fake runner.
I am still pissed.
So i guess i should correct what I said earlier; I found my next fake half marathon, where i will pretend to be a runner.

Still swimming daily. It is making me more tired than I would expect. NSV: I debated eating a bowl of sugar cereal as lunch was heating up and I DIDN'T. I told myself I could have it afterward if I really wanted it then, and I don't right now Mostly because I just want to nap.
