I will also fully admit that this is the first time I've had an actual full sized pantry and making it look nice brings me joy. Would kill for a pantry. If we ever move, it’s on my list of must-haves.

This is where I am with it. Between there being leftovers and all the cleaning extra containers when most things....come in boxes...that fit together on a shelf........ I do a restock of bagged cereal though into a cereal container. Not like the bag inside a box but the big bags you buy loose. I have always put some stuff into clear containers--mainly things like rice or pasta where I don't use the whole bag at once and the packaging isn't resealable. But I'm moving more and more to repackaging because my children think that if you put an empty box of granola bars back on the shelf the Costco fairy will replenish them. At least if the granola bars are in a clear bin that I can see is empty, I know that BEFORE the grocery run. Lol. Lol, fair point. And I guess I do repackage rice and beans and lentils but mostly because they come in bags that are hard to store in my tiny kitchen. And I also have a snack bin that everything gets emptied into. So maybe I'm a hypocrit 😂

I also don't have a pantry. I'd probably be all over repack if I had one. Sour grapes, party of me, lol

Same. It kills me a little knowing that when we gut-renovate our kitchen down the road, we still won't have space for a proper one. I pine for a walk-in.

I have a pantry and I don’t do bins for stuff. Maybe when DS is older and has access to the snacks I’ll be more interested in restocking. Right now we don’t let him have access or all he’d eat would be applesauce and gummies.

We have a cupboard under the stairs that serves as our pantry. It's not fancy, but there's also no orphan boys living in it, so I count it as a win

There is no way I would be putting produce into a separate container in the fridge. Like what on earth. Why would I create more dishes to wash? Silly.
Also I don’t eat room temperature fruit most of the time. Most fruit that doesn’t need refrigerated I don’t like anyway. But my apples are in the fridge. You can’t beat a crisp and cold apple.

When we bought our house almost two years ago, it came with a basement fridge. It felt like byjove had finally arrived.

If I want berries with lunch, I pull them out of the fridge at 8 a.m. to come up to room temp.
(Yes, I use sensitive tooth Toothpaste)

DS4 (3.5yo) has discovered that he can log into his brothers’ accounts on his fire tablet to extend his time for games. Anyone know how to outsmart this turd?

More on the current topic
We have a smaller kitchen fridge, garage fridge/ freezer and a garage freezer.
Large melons and strawberries are cut once and extras placed in the fridge. Everything else lives in the container it came in and is washed as needed, all refrigerated.
Ditto on granola bars in a clear container, as well as fruit snacks. Those containers are not fancy, they are the giant barrel pretzels or the clear bear animal crackers come in. The little 2 cannot open them without help, so they cannot eat them all.

Oh, looking into it. He is the only one who cannot remember a series of numbers. I really wish there was a way to allow only 1 kid profile on a fire tablet.

We have one week until we leave for the beach. I have been making so many lists. Haha. But DD1 is so excited. My sister's vacation will have an overlap so we will get to spend a day on the beach with her and my nephew. I’m late, but is it even a vacation if you don’t have a million lists before you leave?

My forever confession is that i never pack for a trip until the day before or day of. Including but not limited to road trips, family trips, transatlantic flights with a newborn, etc,. I just don't puke to pack until I'm close to the event.

Y'all, the Innocence Files on Netflix is AMAZING. It highlights a bunch of Innocence Project cases. I'm enthralled.

This convo has me chuckling. My memory has been so bad lately, I was worried enough to mention it to my therapist. I didn’t see it listed as a side effect for my anxiety meds, so I didn’t know where it was coming from. I’d make lists on lists and still forget shit. So she told me to write down everything I’ve forgotten and we’d check in next week….. it was a week ago and I have 3 things on that list because……. I FORGOT TO WRITE THINGS DOWN!!! Also, if I forget shit how am I supposed to remember that I forgot it?! Lol. I know she meant that once I remembered it, but my goodness, doc. Lol

I mean I have already started packing for me and the girls. I can do his basics, but he picks his clothes for the trip. He has 3 things to take care of before we leave on Saturday...hair cut, oil change and cut the grass. I'm already betting that one of those will happen Saturday morning.

I have a running packing and to do list that I've kept since the first time we traveled with baby S1. I never take things off of it, I just italicize things not relevant to a specific trip (like a winter coat in July). It's one of the most beneficial random things I did when he was little.

One of our best friends is from there and he’s going to play tour guide. He will cover all accommodations. Vacation planning and list making is one of my all-time favorite things to do.
