This is 100% more prep than I do when people work in my house. You provide snacks?! Years ago, I helped someone out when they were moving. They'd hired a full service mover to pack, etc., but due to a family illness couldn't be there day of to 'supervise'. So - I sat in. Friend gave me cash to get bottled water/Dunkin Donuts/fund pizza lunch plus end of day tip. The movers were definitely a professional crew, but it seemed to me they appreciated these 'extras'. Other than the tip at the end, I hadn't known anyone who did that kind of little extras. And thus it began for me. I try to have bottled water and some sort of treats when people are doing work like that for me. When I moved, from a third floor walk up on a very hot summer day (plus an end of day tip). When any sort of contractor is in the house (HVAC, plumbing, pest control). I bring those tubs of Trader Joe cookies to my vet's reception staff during visits or when picking up food. Oh, definitely to my auto mechanic. The young guys at his place seem to enjoy the cookies. Do I get better service? I don't think so. All my folks seem to be professionals through and through. But I'm grateful I have a few extra dollars to spend these days, all these folks make my life easier, and often seem to work unnoticed unless something goes wrong. Maybe I should have saved this for a Friday confession. Maybe it's a silly habit of mine, and I certainly don't think anyone expects it. Oh, I also do good Yelp or whatever platform they prefer to review good service.

I leaned to the side to pick something up earlier and I pulled something in my back. What the fuck. Am I just old now? Is this life? Yes. Sorry.

When DD starts preschool she can actually sleep later since it's a "special program" they don't offer any type of before care so we can't bring her til like 10 til 8. DHs work is salary so he will be adjusting his work schedule 15 minutes late so he can take her and then go to work. I was a tad wtf do working parents do then. If we couldn't adjust our schedule then the bus would have had to pick her up at grandma's and two transitions in the morning sounds awful for her. I'm also not mentally ready for my comm delayed 3 yo to ride a bus. That was word vomit sorry 🤣 I don’t know if anyone touched on this, but I would drop DS1 off at 7:15 at daycare for them to get him on at 7:45. He would then go to the program and then they put him back on the bus to go to daycare for after care. He loved the bus ride. It was the only transition he never cared about. There are daycares out there that provide this service to working families, but you have to ask. It often isn’t advertised

It often isn’t advertised The program teacher and director did tell me that's what most of their working parents do when I freaked out about not being able to bring her up early. I don't know anything about cost or anything but I may have to do this eventually. My mom wants to take vacations again next year and I have no one else. I have to take these adjustments in increments too, for me. Honestly I'm sure DD couldn't care less lol. But it's an adjustment for me for her to spend part of her days with someone without family. I need to feel comfortable with the bus and daycare too and right now it gives me palpitations. She couldn't tell me anything if something happened ☹

First Hello Fresh was a complete success. Even DS ate everything except the green beans which he doesn’t like anyway. We had crispy skin barramundi with potatoes and green beans and lemony sour cream

I’d never have my shit together for this and my anxiety would tell me mean things and talk me out of it, but I love that you do it.

Lord save me. My mom is flipping out because DS went from a 4 to a 3 in music this quarter and the teacher used the same copy paste statement she used last quarter, something about completed most assignments. She is stuck on that word and is ranting he did all his assignments. Imma need some chill in this woman. She needs an edible or some shit. It's not that serious.

Second question of the day: My pilea peperomioides’ leaves curl under like this and the internet tells me it’s either underwatered or overwatered... how can I tell which? I water when the soil is dry, probably every 5 days or so? Sometimes the leaves uncurl after being watered but not always. I also mist every few days. Or is it some other problem? STP @wasabi Betweenthelines Also I have zero idea how to say peperomioides out loud. Dammit Tapatalk won’t let me post a picture. Put her in a pot with room in the bottom. Put an inch of water, place her in the sun, only water again when it’s all gone. That’s what saved Wilber.

I do not provide snacks to people working at my house, but I always have coffee going and water available. I put out a five course spread. My mother has ruined me.

I had a customer last year who kept trying to give me veggies from his garden. Then I have another this year who keeps asking me to increase her weekly rate. She had finally settled on that she will just give me a tip if she feels I am under charging her. On one hand, I'm glad they are that pleased with my work. But on the other I feel awkward when I'm trying to keep my pricing fair and not take advantage of customers.

We have like 1 music teacher for every (all) elementary schools. I wonder of that teacher has like 500000 of these to fill out and has to use a little copy paste action to get though.

I‘ve been highly productive at work this week and brought my A game to my riding lesson this afternoon. Need to carry this positive energy for a few more days!

Yea our school system when I was a kid had 4 elementary schools (k-6) and there was one music teacher for all those kids.

H said his odometer was showing about 32 or 33 miles from our ride tonight. I talked him into cruising around after we had Qdoba for dinner so we didn't get home until 9. It was so relaxing to be out riding though.

piratecat, there is an app called planta that will remind you when and how much to water your plant and gives advice on sunlight and care. I’m terrible at keeping anything alive. I find it helpful.

Do you mean put the pot inside another pot? Yeah so I have the ceramic pretty pot, and then the plastic liner-pot that the plant is in with the roots hanging out. So he’s hanging out and the roots are wet but the soil isn’t...if that makes sense. Google “bottom watering.” The rest of you GROW UP.

piratecat , when you do water, how is drainage? If the water isn't running through it somewhat easily when you water you may have to repot it into a better draining soil. I also don't mist mine at all so maybe try stopping the extra misting.
