So I know when I got my vaccine there was no question if I’d had Covid more than 14 days ago or ordered to isolate in that time frame. Is it possible that those who have developed clots had Covid recently or not known they had Covid? I say this because I was honestly surprised you didn’t need a negative test in order to get the vaccine since we know it can be a symptomatic. Needing a negative Covid test prior to getting a vaccine would have slowed this whole process to a complete standstill. I had enough people struggling to take time off to get their vaccines, let alone needing a third (or more) time off to get a Covid test. I did see that it was 6 women. So my guess is more along the lines of their taking hormonal birth control, or genetically being more susceptible to blood clots, than recently or currently having Covid.* *I am not a doctor.

My work just reported that we’ve plateaued at 70% of employed vaccinated.
That seems low for a health care organization and worries me for the broader community.

The number of coworkers on my unit alone that refuse the vaccine is infuriating to me right now. I keep finding out more and more. 😤

I keep finding out more and more. 😤 I’m going to show up in your parking lot and berate them. I literally just imagined how fast I'd get arrested. Standing at the entrance asking medical staff - have you gotten your vaccine? And sprayed them with a water bottle if they say no. And yelling bad cat! Bad! No!

Yes and amazingly it is not considered a reason to skip getting a second dose of the same vaccine.

Second Pfizer dose is in my arm! H too! Hoping we aren’t both down for the count tomorrow but the kid is old enough to fend for himself anyway. 😂

Second shot of moderna in the arm! I have things I’m supposed to do tomorrow but my boss has agreed to cover for me if I am not feeling well. I work for one of those unicorn workplaces where the executive director (highest level person) is willing to do anyone else’s work

My second dose was ok fever-wise but my soreness extended into my upper back muscles. Basically, the side where my shot was had such muscle soreness it hurt to take deep breaths.
All good within the 24 hours but I was googling side effects nonstop that day to make sure that wasn’t a weird one. Hope all of you with the next shot feel mostly good and recover fast. It is worth it but odd to have symptoms of “something” after all this time of quarantine.

Well, for the first time since I started menstruating, I just had a 27-day cycle (I've had a few 28 days, but usually 30-35). Another anecdote to add to the mRna vaccine annals, and another small piece of evidence that I might have just gotten my 2nd vaccine shot, not the placebo.
I usually get nasty cramps that I take Ibuprofen for and Tylenol doesn't touch them. Does anyone know if there have been studies done on Ibuprofen and Pfizer or Moderna's effectiveness?

Like if you take ibuprofen will it make the vaccine less effective? I don't know, but I had my shot on a Thursday morning and took 400mg ibuprofen that night, 600mg Friday morning, and 400mg Friday night, plus a 625mg tylenol Friday night. The aches and fever were pretty miserable and I wouldn't have slept at all Friday night without it.

All I’ve seen is the request to not take ibuprofen or acetaminophen BEFORE the shot because it can affect your immune system response. I haven’t seen any guidance about not taking ibuprofen after the shot for other reasons.
